Thine Ears Shall Bleed (2024) (Movie Review)
As a musician I can attest that the best way to use music in a movie is not to use it at all (or as you say, dial it back a bit). The dialogue audibility issues sound like there was a lack of technical competence during both shooting and post.
The music is a main stay for me especially because i watched it as a teenager making it nostalgic. The story still captivates me. Its based about the unified field theory and the machine is able to manipulate the unified field and it created super soldiers, i like your theory but i think the story is a cautionary tale of not to be overconfident and to tread with care
Hmmm no dialogue, I'll pass , thanks for review Carlin 🎉
Coming from a fan of these types of films, I'd give it a minimum 4 stars. I loved it. The action IS the story. The young adult banter is genuine and not needed to advance the plot. I never had a second of boredom. It felt like a combination pf 28 Days Later and Cloverfield.
Killin' it
I only played the sixth one but well done
I think you should consider reviewing Threads (1984).
Brennan also needs to remember that Joe Bob is the reason people show up to the Jamborees. Without him, Brennan would not have the job of creating events for him. You have to remember your place in these situations and not think you are higher than you truly are. I think he started seeing it as an actual family instead of a business. Joe Bob is the brand and it all revolves around him, nobody else.
One of the best analyses of this movie out there, well done!
I found this article talking about MadS that explains how it was shot. The director says: "I needed this movie to be as truthful and as honest as possible. So when I had this idea of making a oner - it has to be one take. So we shot five days and we had five takes. The first day was a disaster. The second day was a disaster. And the three last days were actually the movie from the beginning to the end. The movie you saw is the last take we did on Friday. I have the GoPro tapes [from the cameras] we put on some of the crew members that actually can prove that we made it in one take. Moviemaking is not like a contest - it’s just, I wanted this to be real and true. So we had to do it in only one take.”
I thought this film was really really good. The imagery along with photography, acting and writing were top. The creepiness was an all encompassing void of pitch. It's a very effective alien invasion film. Looking forward to what the filmakers bring in the future.
Lol.
Which release is that? Severin? I have the Umbrella release and it's really good.
I'm in the film! I had a blast doing it!
No matter how fresh, usually all fish for eating is dead fish
I love this vido good job
I think you should consider reviewing Threads (1984), Clearcut (1991), and Tell Me a Creepy Story (2023).
That's kind of like a Moon Pies, we used to eat from back in the day.
I love this movie. I seen it in Shudder in English or English sub titles, cant remember. I want to watch it again but cant find it.
Sorry but you didn't rate this underrated gem high enough for me to even bother listening to this review.
Nice Haul! Huge Umberto Lenzi fan, but I haven't seen that one, but will have to check it out!
You droped a 📌 May i have it?
my Kino sale haul: Suspect Zero Two Worlds of Jenny Logan The War Lord also threw in a non sale item: The Food of the Gods
I need to bring back grody as a word lol thanks for that hahahaha.
This movie was so slow and I like a slow burn, but this was ridiculous not enough scares, and the music way too loud and many parts and like you said it takes you out of the film completely
Could they have used digital to create the illusion of one continuous scene?
I appreciate the movie and the overall idea of dealing with grief and how people do that differently. Its a difficult concept to grasp and we all deal with that differently. Its filmed well. The set is well done. I will say the Babadook did a better job on the overall subject matter. And the end of the film leaves a lot to be desired.
This movie was a disappointment. Had potential but was poorly written.
Pretty good for a prequel
I thought this was really fun! I did not know what was going to happen, so I appreciated that. I wish I knew more about the monster origins, but hey...it kept me guessing. Two things that bugged me tho: 1. Why did the new wife inherit all the $$ instead of his son? 2. I wish they were more consistent with her lip injury.....its pretty noticeable in her closeups...how could they miss that?
Just watched this one. I totally agree with your review. As a short film I would have loved it. The kills are great, although 1 or 2 are off camera. Too much film of the killer just walking. Take out the walking, add a few more kills and I would have had a better time.
We're definitely on the same page with this one. I'm not a fan of movies that clearly don't have the material to be a feature film being stretched in to one.
nice vid bro❤
Thank you.
They were speaking in English in this movie. The lip syncing was almost dead on with English
Waffles all day
Just watched this one. I really liked this one personally. I don’t mind slower movies (as you know), and it really deals with how people deal with grief. I literally had someone in my own life deal with grief like Laura did at the end of the story, so I could find things to identify with. I had some issues with cinematography. The overhead shots of the trees looked like mold.
It always help with films if you can identify with an aspect of it. I had that with the Larry Fessenden film Blackout that came out earlier this year.
I'm 53 and I've been a fan of joe bob briggs since 1986 when he was first on the movie channel on cable! needless to say this sucks because the relationship between everyone on the last drive in (darcy, joe bob, yuki and john) seemed like an unbreakable family bond like the one shared between us as the mutant family so I'm shocked about this development and I'm not taking sides because I'll continue to be a fan and watch but john brennans contributions to the show will be missed without a doubt! it just really sucks all the way around and hopefully john will get to display his talents in another setting and continue to do well and the last drive in will also find an adequate replacement as musical director and still be great 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
I hear you. It's like when you have two friends and they get in to a fight and stop talking, but there's nothing you can do. You still want to hangout with both of them, but you just can't all hangout as a group anymore.
Gross...peach flavor
Love your spirit keep going!
🎉🎉🎉
Awesome reviews man! Great channel!
Thank you.
Just found out out about all of this AND the house fire...you'd think JB & DP would be understanding of everything he's going through and willing to cut he and Liz a break. Hope the Mutantfam doesn't turn on John now.
That house fire is so devastating. I can't imagine going through something like that. I think this is something that people will move past with a little time.
Just watched this and I completely agree. for a 90ish minute movie it drags in sections and feels rushed in other. That opening scene is a heck of a start for sure. Hope you are having a great spooky season, Carlin!
Great to hear from you. I also hope you're having a great spooky season. Hit those horror movies hard this month!
@CarlinCook I am 😁 Finishing out the year much stronger than I started it!
I’ve been looking for horror movies I haven’t seen yet to watch this October, looks like I’ll be adding “Altered” to the list, it sounds awesome!
Really hope you like Altered.
I'd be interested to know how different those taste. And this is from someone who likes licorice.
It's not as intense of a black licorice flavor as something like a Good & Plenty.
A few fun facts: Pupi is a shortened version of Giuseppe (Joseph) 🙂, the film was shot in and around the city of Ferrara ( Emilia region, im which the city of Bologna is in ) 🙂
I never knew that was a nickname. Interesting location information. Thank you for that.

It has to be something with Darcy's current power. Many of us have tried to warn others what type of person she truly is but they can only see the part she plays at events and on air. Her increasing popularity and relevance on the show have started to sway everything about the show, because she is one of those "Be like me or you're wrong" types. She talks one way but acts another. She is toxic. I've known many like her and they do no good being in your life. Countless fans are tired of her but the show only listens to the cult-like followers that are at the forefront and want to kiss ass all the time. She may have started this show agiain but she's also destroying it now. She is Joe Bob's "Yoko".
I have no idea who she truly is as a person, or JB for that matter either. I would like to think they are good people, but you just truly never know. I enjoy the show and will keep watching. I think we all just need to keep reminding ourselves that it's all a performance and who these people truly are will probably never be revealed to us.
The show lost something a season or two ago .
@@danielj8292 The Darcy cult took over. It became too much about her.
Yeah, good flavour! Which did Mrs Carlin get?
She got that same.
Lisa likes the spearmint snowballs with marshmallow on top. I don’t know about me not being able to talk for a week, but I know of some other folks out there who I would like to not be able to talk for a week. 😄
Severe introverts would love to not talk to anyone. I don't think I could ever even consider eating a spearmint snowball.
@@CarlinCook She loves them.
Behind the mask is 10 times better then in a violent nature where you have the perspective of the killer
It's a vastly underrated film.
