Damn we so miss him. We used to listen to his show in the 1970's on WGH FM in Norfolk, Va. He once replied to a postcard we sent him with another postcard. He was the real deal!

I remembered this song from when I was just three years old, growing up in L.A. my father played the tune many times during the 1950s. Had no clue as to the name, and had not heard it except in my head, until I heard it in The Irishman. Never forgot the unique tune and sound! Love it!

I heard this tune the other night when I was surfing the TV net for a good movie and, to my good fortune, picked The Irishman. Delicado was quite a trip down memory lane: I heard it for the first time in 1952 when I was 11 years old and, to say the least, left quite an impression. The movie had some other classic tunes like Perez Prado's Que Rico Mambo for example. Loved it in the 50's, love it now.

I would call it haunting but in a good way...it pulls you in...becomes addicting

I love Scorsese's music choice to this sequence in the Irishman; the music and the flowing camera throws the audiences off guard, starts out with connections and conversations giving it a balletic elegant dynamic and then ends in a grisly mob murder. Brilliant.
