I'd give a lot to have him around now to hear what he has to say about the present time.
Here because of Dr. Smith
I found out my neighbor (Pathfinder) has a “Gunslinger” long-sleeved Country-Western Shirt he reserves for Weddings, Court Dates and Funerals. I have a similar shirt I wore at Poetryvreadings I performed… reserving mine for Readings and… I don’t know - generally cool stuff when my self-confidence level was on key mentally.
It is in great contrast but yet starts the same with the comment that "if is the middle word in life" with Hopper reciting this poem manically in , yet Hopper nevertheless.
Kipling,bro.from the Sq.& Compass..
One of the absolute best deliveries of this fantastic poem! No…. actually I believe it is the best.
Crowd got real quiet when he was talking about genocide.

*_"The earth doesn’t share our prejudice toward plastic. Plastic came out of the earth. The earth probably sees plastic as just another one of its children. Could be the only reason the earth allowed us to be spawned from it in the first place. It wanted plastic for itself. Didn’t know how to make it. Needed us. Could be the answer to our age-old egocentric philosophical question, “Why are we here?”_*

My response in English, simply because it's easier :) So, is it really still admirable to let go of one's emotions today, just because the new therapeutic era has brainwashed us into doing so?.. I think not. We've seen too much breaking down and uncontrolled expressed anger and bitterness by a generation that has it too easy, too good, and, in all truthfulness, doesn't know what real problems are like. Look back in history and read what a true disaster is all about.. We're spoiled. We're soft and clueless even. Going back to harnessing ourselves wouldn't hurt us a bit, in fact it would bring back some of the old virtues that have sadly lost themselves in time.
Love the Truth from this genius.
GREAT!!
BS"D Our 6th grade teacher had our class memorize this as a tool for life... That same year, during his class - haters - from the same evil sources as today - slaughtered our president, who lived by these moral codes. May humankind merit - true leadership - to overcome evil - and live life of "loving our neighbors as ourselves".
The finest recitation of Kipling's finest work.

literally this 💩
i think this one of the finest recitation of the great poem
That's fuckin beautiful...

Hopper had IT and he proves it in this fantastic poem. Thank you Dennis for the delivery and thank you Rudyard Kipling for this poem of a man's soul.

A classic didactic poem made more clear in the impassioned natural voice of a country singer. A little swagger, but just enough hoo-ha. Great recitation. Eat your heart out Michael Caine.
country singer?
Great thing is that mother nature is actually eating the plastic that we toss in the ocean at this point. Looks like Carlin was right again. Plastic...
