I don't know what MAP is but this looks the same as my Chevy Sonic fob, with different buttons. I was wondering if using a razor would help in the other videos I watched. Apparently it does!
Finally , a 7 year old video that shows the most effective process of switching out a key fob !!
Goo video, Vauxhall dealer Arnold Clark in Hanley Stoke on Trent wanted between £300 and £350 for a new programmed key fob. I got 2 off Ebay for £7.30 and followed the video instructions, I now have 2 new keys for £7.30 not £600 or £700!
This would easily work with my key fobs
Does the g scan tool stay plugged in while your changing the ecu?
thanks a great video
Mine was glued shut... no way to get it open without breaking it. Had to order one with the electronics.
The only person to open key without breaking it.
You are a genius 👏 🙌 Best vedio Grazie mille 🎉
Every-video disassembling the fob people struggled and make it intimidating . You made it look easy‼️thank you.
Thanks mate, just bought a new VF key shell online and did the change over watching your vid. Just went down and tested it on the car and it worked perfectly.
Line up the cams where the push button can go all the way through the switchblade, then hold it in place as you rotate it and then pop on the other half of the case. He’s pretty much right on the button with the technique but he didn’t show that crucial step because he never moved it when he removed and replaced it.
Thank god you exist god damn nice video.
Thank you, these are just right for our remotes. Very easy to insert.
Nope no good. Ive still got no fucking idea how the little metal button fits into the blade. every time i do this and close it, the button doesnt stick out, and the blade wont click back into place.
Agreed my key will not stay closed now...
You missed a vital step!! The pin, spring and key needs to be shown how t put together. 😔
This was very helpful, thanks for showing us how to do this, your awesome IM Group!
Thank you so much for taking the time to film this video. Of all the videos I viewed, your video was the most helpful😁Now I can get back to getting my life all the way together. Oh P. S. - that alarm sound is like music to my ears.
Greetings from Slovenia. Did you manage to extend the range of the battery with this method? I can't find any conclusion. When I look at the graph in the movie, I see that after this experiment some cells have a slightly lower voltage than before. Do you still have this Ampera at the moment?
Where did you buy the replacement body please?
Thanx for the video buddy😊
I dont believe he is replacing and cutting open an original key fob ..The original is really well glued and you will most likely break your original key by doing this..
I think you are right about that. My GM original was glued shut super tight. I tried it every way possible and I end up breaking the circuit board.
Damm..this song is worst than Nyquil.
So is this scan tool doing the same thing? ruclips.net/video/PlYpvKX_vME/видео.html
Thank you
Just did this to 2 remotes for a 2014-15 (not sure which year exactly) Chevy Sonic, that glue on the factory remote made this 10 times the job it needed to be, I cut along the sides like shown in this video and even cut along the bottom (down where the fake chrome key ring ting is) and I got the bottom to pry apart but it still snapped halfway up the battery cutout, I tried prying inside the hole the key head spins in like this video showed but couldn't get anything to budge there, what I ended up doing after the bottom half of the back broke off was I took some very small flat head screw drivers and I slipped them in the groves where the 2 pieces of shell are glued together and used a hammer to carefully drive them toward the top of the shell and was eventually able to break enough of the glue bonds to get the circuit board to fall out.
Thanks, this has been the most helpful tip for the super glued problem!
The video doesn’t SHOW THE MIST IMPORTANT PART. What is the correct position for the cam inside the key lock mechanism? How is it clocked? Can’t get mine to lock when stowed away.
Where can I get the replacement fob 2015 chevy malibu
Pay attention to the size of the button in your original and replacement keys If they are not the same size the botton will not sit correctly to activate tue spring.
Be sure to cut the glue around the bottom edges too, he didn't show that in the video... I couldn't get mine apart until I cut along the bottom and pushed the corner of the blade in around the stepped plastic.
Would you be able to better describe what you mean by bottom edges? I am having trouble opening my fob and think there is more glue holding it together.
@@gregguikema2613 around at the bottom, the seam goes around steps, if I remember correctly. The glue is pretty tough, but you'll get it open getting the tip of the knife blade into the seam everywhere carefully. I was able to have the fob laying flat and out the tip of the blade into the seam straight down. I don't know which replacement fob case you got, but on the one I did for my Dad, the release button was different. I used the mechanism from the new case, but I removed the key from the old mechanism by tapping out the roll pin that holds the key portion (and the blank portion on the new one) and swapped them. The fit was fine. It works perfectly.
@@gregguikema2613 the bottom of the black shell inside of the hole created by the chrome key ring piece and even that is only enough to get the bottom half of the back off, I still had to fight the top half for a while, I wanna punch the guy who decided to glue these in the face, just use a dang screw to hold it together and no glue needed.
Thank you so much,
Hi Im having some issues with injector 6 circuit malfunction. After investigating and replacing spark plugs, coils. It still happens intermittently. A bit more investigating i have found when i lightly move the the bottom harnes on BCM i can replicate the injector 6 malfunction error. I have had a p0443 evaporative emission malfunction for about 2 years or so but still drivable and didnt have any issues. At present the car is still drivable and only notice is car rough idle for less than a minute and goes away. This only happens intermittently sometime doesn't happen for 300k. The car has 435000km These are the errors i have cleared in the past. The last 3 errors are more regular P0443-00 - Evaporative Emission Controll System Purge Solenoid Circuit Malfunction 18 - (Current) ECC Fault Logged 18 - (Current) Auxiliary Serial Data Bus Fault U2100-00 - CAN-Bus Circuit Malfunction 19 - (History) EEPROM Error U2108 (histroy) Can-bus No Communication with ABS/TC/ESP U2106 - CAN-Bus No Comunication with TCM (Transmission Control Module) P1632-48 Immobiliser Fuel Disable Signal Received p2500-00 - Alternator L terminal Low voltage p0206-00 - Injector 6 circuit malfunction p1668-00 - Alternator L Terminal circuit malfunction Has anyone had similar and was it a bcm. What a joke. Bought a vz ute 3 months ago, needed a new ecm, i didnt have security pin to re program new unit, old holden dealer local had all info for vehicle bar the security pin, couldnt help me, Called holden care, same thing, all details of car bar security pin. So my car has been sitting at auto elec now for 10 weeks unable to reprogram or fix old unit.
got it working?? if not i have what you need sitting for sale.
Thanks, saved me $90 labour charge, only had to pay $10 for the case.
It's ridiculous how much people charge just to do this for somebody 🤷♀️ I got quoted $60 per key with two to fix and providing my own shells. That's why I'm watching this video 😂
Same thing
BCM Link to PIM first 5:03 ruclips.net/video/pcSQKK-ATmM/видео.html I didn't see you do this step (PIM link to BCM first) as per G-Scanner (Before the PIM link to ECM), was it necessary, did you do it off-camera or not do it?
Awesome video is this the same as changing a ECU on a VE HSV
This video helped me a lot, thank you❤️
All that is BS don't do it
This is a great video. I have done everything as instructed; at least 8 times, I have tried this. But for some reason, despite my attention to detail, my key constantly sprang out! I do it as explained meticulously, I spin it twice, but my key never stays in the locked position? I must be missing something subtle here, or perhaps my shell is just flawed?
This was the best video among several that I looked at. The only problem was that the nubs on the button that make everything line up for the key, did not line up in order to just use the old key with all of the other new parts of the new case. I used a Dremel tool to file down the inside slots on the case to finally get things working, to use the old key & button in the new case. The case was advertised to fit my model year, but it wasn't a 100% match.
i had to do the same with mine took 3 times longer than it needed to be
This is the best camaro key fob video ever, follow it close and you’ll have a great idea on how to do it yourself. Thank you 🙏. I was able replace mine. I had to break the original one. Once you crack it open it’s easy to put it back together. Watch the video
The top half of my original case is just not budging. It cracked in half and still won't open!
@@failedfishermanBC I ran into that too, ended up having to use a few small flat head screw drivers like shims to break away more of the glue on the sides of the shell and eventually was able to pry it open enough for the circuit board to fall out.
It doesn't go green no matter how many times it try it.
Thank you so much for this video. This was the best ever. You made the process so understandable. I couldn't understand why others wanted to pop the pin out of the blade instead of just swapping it out. Thanks especially for the razor blade tip. Before watching your video, I was going to skip the frustration and just pay for it be done at the dealership. But because of your video I know I can "do-it-myself!"
Dude what’s the music you used ?
Could you please tell us what the background music this is
What’s the music you have in the background
Does this need any glue or a new seal? Thanks
Made it look to easy wow
Right. I destroyed my original key fob doing this...🥴
for real, I followed that "cut" with the razor blade and it did NOTHING to get the top half of the back to break free and prying in the key hole only bent the plastic, when I pried from the bottom the back just snapped along the battery cut out.
OK so my security system is on and I've disconnected the battery because the alarm keeps going off please tell me I can purchase a new key and the kf200 and re map even though the security system is activated I've pulled my old key to pieces
Can I grogram more than 1 key with the kf200 as it says single use on packet, I have a VT and a VX that both need new keys can I use the1 kf200 to do both or do I need 1 for each new key
