Ikea Milsbo and Billy for model storage/display
Просмотров 16 тыс.5 лет назад
One answer for the modeller's eternal question "where do it put all the damn things?" Ikea added another glass and metal display cabinet to the line in December. www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/30396448/?query=MILSBO Check your local website for local prices, but it seems to be about $200usd. You can either buy the Billy bookcase with the doors already (far more economical) or add them www....
2018 Christmas lights
Просмотров 1775 лет назад
Some of the lights have been changes this year. The biggest change is Huggie Bear at the front and some new flashing lights in the sprue tree along with the flashing candy canes. The big pine in the back (now just over 30') had 2/3 of the lights fail over the summer with squirrels chewing the wires, so, new lights and 25' of colour changing lights right at the top. Everyone please have a Merry ...

It's finally done. It has been nearly complete since the beginning of December, and I hoped to have it finished over the Christmas holidays, but instead I had illness and a family disaster to deal with.

My Wednesday morning (dashcam crash)
Просмотров 3626 лет назад
The audio is a couple of seconds slow for some reason. The damage is from the front door all the way to the rear bumper. The car was still fully functional and the wheels/suspension wasn't damaged so I was able to drive it the rest of the day. For those that know Toronto, I turned from Peter onto Adelaide. My estimate of the damage is $800. BTW- She thought she saw two parking spots on the left...

A rant/review/warning of Dragon/Cyber-Hobby's M4A4 (kit #02)
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.6 лет назад
It's a sad attempt from Dragon to bodge together sprues from older kits. The problem is that they've also bodged together the instructions and had them half size. I forgot to mention in the video, either the lower hull tub or the upper hull deck were twisted, but they didn't fit together properly, in the end not a major problem, but just another issue on the list with this kit. Also, there does...

Dragon 1/35 6565 Flakpanzer IV "Wirbelwind" update #1
The words Dragon, fun and build do not go together in my opinion. Their instructions are always confusing, requiring several re-reads per build step, and there are often too many un-needed parts, which make finding the required ones more difficult. I built the 251 infantry carrier some years back but although it built up into a nice model, I was glad to see it finished.
This a beast of a kit, not for faint of heart
Mines on its way in mail
Ur camera woll not adjust to parts sprues when u hold them up because u have no background green background Suggestion: take all ur sprues out befor filming, place sprues on desk w green background
You made a jstake here , the gun was a real gun amd they even made test fire on centurion and congeror , it was a real shooting gun on the fv4005
Re the overhang on the turret upper rear, there is a photograph of an ex-Lebanese example which shows this to be correct. I’d post it but there appears to be no facility to upload images to comments.
i do not suggest to buy dragon which have fitting problem
Supposedly the white box w orange outer, acc to Adam M , are worthless
hi there, may I use it too?
sure
@@forbeshutton5487 thank you
Hi Forbes Hutton, could I feature this clip on my channel? Any comment? Thanks
Sure, go ahead.
there are so many ways to paint this. i would live to have that model on my shell painted :) great video mr Mutton
Tout à fait exact, notice de montage très difficile à lire, plastique super mou, degrappage impossible sur certaines petites pieces
Information very useful. Many thanks for sharing.
Looks like abomination alley.
Thanks for the video, wish I'd watched before I bought the kit. When I ordered it, it came with a delivery date of 3 Jan 23, arrived 2 months early and now I've got to start it. I shall probably have to watch you undergo the drive train and steering torture several times when I am building. Thanks again, very astute comments
No such thing as a free lunch or an unbuildable kit!🙄 Jman
Really a warning: if you like hearing someone bitch and moan with a cup of bitterness thrown in for good measure, here's your man.
The ICM version of this model is different. The frame in the ICM model is one piece. And some of the other assembly issues you mentioned do not exist in the ICM model. But thanks for sharing the issues with Revell's version of this kit.
I'm just building Dragons Sd.Kfz.7 with Magic Tracks. It was not easy but I made it and the result is great. But the tracklinks are bigger than the ones of the Sd.Kfz.251.
there's supposed to be a gap on the rear of the bonnet/hood where u have filler,so fit up id isn't as bad as u mention
I still haven't figured out Step 28 for the Milsbo glass cabinet (I don't think it is necessary anyway), but it was shockingly easy, considering Im an idiot assembling furniture. Anyways, I love your setup, man!
I find that all DS Sherman track to be 2 links to long. But being DS just cut off the 2 links and glue them together with a small strip of plastic strip between them.
I know you live in Toronto .Me too!
Nice job sprucing the up!😜
Hello I just came across your channel. I liked and subbed.
The M4A4 is the extra length Sherman with the Chrysler A57 multi bank engine.
Hey Forbes. You came up in a conversation today and I just wanted to drop in and say hi. We were reminiscing about your crushing a 251. All the best.
I think the hull is still in drawer. It was put to use testing paints for a while.
@@forbeshutton5487 my wife wants a train layout. How large is the table area for this one?
@@AdamMann3D 36" x 60" in this video. I'm adding 12" to one end. The track does run close to the front and back edges, 38" would be better if you have the room. The track plan is here, it's the first one shown, but the detailed plan is about half way down the page: www.steves-trains.com/post/n-scale-track-plans
I might add that the assembly plans are frustrating. They could have improved that to make it easier to read, just adds on to the frustrating and detracts from the enjoyment of the hobby.
PART J2 -same problem described by another contributor on You Tube. He cut the overlap off as well. I also noticed in other similar builds that the small parts are put on last after the major parts have been assembled. Great vid. Thank you for the info.
Being amusing hobby it'll probably have fit issues like there ferdinand and elephant kits and new panzer 4 woth slopped armour mixed with Bordor models panzer Hull that took a good bit of reworking to get sitting and fitting properly! History of what was going to be for this self propelled not TD ,The glacis is listed as being a 4.9 inch (125 mm) thick steel plate, sloped at 59 degrees. Side armor was to be 1 ¾ inch (44 mm) thick plus the 6 mm thick ‘bazooka plates’ added over the running gear. The floor would have been 0.7 inches (20 mm) thick, with an extra 0.6 inch (16 mm) ‘mine plate’ installed below the driver’s position. The roof of the hull would have been 1 ¼ inches (32 mm) thick. Turret Mounted at the rear of the hull, the new turret was large and boxy. Unlike the Conqueror’s cast turret, the FV215’s turret was to be of welded construction. Existing dimensions list the turret as 12 feet (3.6 meters) wide sitting on a 95 inch (2.4 meter) diameter turret ring. Overall, the turret would have weighed 20 tons (20.3 tonnes). Unfortunately, the exact thickness of the turret armor is unknown as records list the turret face only as “will protect from a 100 mm gun in a 30-degree arc”. The rear of the turret and the roof would have been 0.6 inches (17 mm) thick.
But if you can get hold of the dragon if you have the option at the time Definitely grab the dragon kit! Tamiya is OK for a base to detail the heck out of yourself if wanting to do this like me just now and it's basically coming out the same detail as dragons so go for Dragon's is what I'd recommend oh and stay clear from afv club's! Honestly you'll tanks me 😄
The Dragon sherman kit's are all italiri kit's from basically the beginning of time! If only dragon done there own sherman moulds I think they would have been some of the best it's a real shame they went this route! The sherman your building (British 75mm) m4A4 and the one your comparing to on back of kit instructions (US 75mm) m4a4 basically a British firefly Hull to a normal US built m4a4 on box or instructions so yeh that's your issues from Dragon italiri! See them fire extinguishers are the British type on the rear the us didn't use that type of methyl bromide also the British firefly stowage box on back the US never used that they had the shelf! Kinda off the high turret bustle you would expect the more low bustle but that's not really a big issue they did have some just not what you would normally find with a firefly that's what they have done gave you a firefly Hull with a US 75mm Norman turret non British cut bustle for radio! Also that is the extended sherman the m4a4! DS tracks were to long for the kit in all there kit's because they done the tracks while they didn't have the size specified for and other companies (italiri) kit! Go RFM I have 5 in my stashband Asuka 1cs and China clippers to kit bash together! I'm building the Tulip version out them all just now and broncos staghound with the 60lb rockets! Dragon shermans are the same price as RFM sherman and meng shermans aswell we have them in our model shop priced up at £60 bucks!
I wouldn't recommend any kit for a kid there not toys! Mine went together no problem then "small holes" for the tool's are drill pin marks to drill yourself bronco don't really like to leave holes all over there moulds I've noticed! I've built hell of a lot bronco kit's all over engineered but bronco ain't got bad kit's that's for sure! There for the morning experienced modeler's same as Ricch model's same company there universal carrier's are just the same but detail is outstanding!
just bought both kits yesterday! looking forward to getting them in the stash! thank you
thank you for this im going to get this kit in a day or 2, you just got aa new sub!
Wow great to see you again. 👍very cool setup.
Great to see from you! I've also been getting more into model railroading recently. I'll check out your new channel.
Subscribed bud :) and WOW! I love that layout! Looks so much better than in photos!!!
The lighting is better now. 2 18" LED bars from Amazon light it right up (42$cdn).
@@forbeshutton5487 I use six LED bars over my bench’s, three over the build one and three over the paint one. Also from Amazon. Makes a huge difference
Just came across your channel and I wanted to say I am sorry to hear your news your dad will be so proud of your build keep up the work and god bless to you and your family. Woodyx
The original kits first release came with a resin Michael cain figure but no additional figures. The plastic was dark green
First off, you found your own solution to your part A11 quandary when you turned the box over. Its position in plainly shown on the box. Secondly, it IS somewhat helpful to know a little bit about the subject. And if you don't - that's okay too - we have this marvelous thing called the internet which has the sum total of the knowledge mankind has accumulated over the ages, yet we use it mainly to watch cat videos. I learn everything I can about a particular subject before delving into it. But I digress - the M4A4 IS the extended hull version you alluded to. Not sure why the tracks are too long but I would venture to guess if you were to rotate the position of the idler wheel mount as they do on the real thing, you'd find a point at which the track fits well.
Prachtig!! Ik heb de L4500 S en de L4500 A
I am just in the process of getting this kit build finished (2021). Out of interest, I found this build review of yours and I am total agreement with your issues. It was the subject matter that drew my interest in building it but, suffice to say Bronco will not grace my modelling bench in future.
Once in a while it's good to build a "challenging" kit, it makes you grateful for the better ones. There is a better sense of satisfaction (and relief) at the end of a bastard kit.
Just built my first Miniart kit. The one thing you learn about the buildings is that nothing ever fits properly on them. Lots of Evergreen and modelling putty needs to be used. If you're a person who expects accuracy these kits will do your head in.
I glued them together and drilled through the pins from the side and added a copper wire through them. It didn't take quite that long but it was easier once I set it up for my dremel drill press.
I was going to buy the MILSBO one since you can regulate the height of the shelves. However , since i need it to put plastic minis and some of them are like 8-10 cm tall, i wanted to add more shelves in it. Do you know if it is possible to order them separately or if is it possible to buy the components?
How many mounting points for additional shelves are there and what would be the spacing between them?
Everything you said is correct I am building this kit now and its such a challenge. Way too many little parts. Poor instructions. Too overdone for such a small vehicle. I also built the staghound. Only reason building this is its not available from other like you said ie Tamiya. There's a reason why Tamiya's the best from Japan. Easy to build, clear instructions and everything fits.
Yeah buy the Dragin six day war s5 stug 3 G remove the Russian gun and you have a pretty good accurate kit with loads added new parts to make the accurate stuH 42 from das werks stuH 42 105 kit it's a dragon rebox of there StuH42 but all the parts you need are in this six day war kit I have in the stash and I'm still able to build the miag stug 3 Ausf G from that kit so win win!
Awesome video man. I just found one of this in a different state. I’ll be going to pick it up. Do you mind telling me the dimensions of the boxes it came in if you recall so I know if they’ll fit in my SUV. Thanks
