Hemi Jeep: Finishing Up!
After a few days off, we picked up where we left off. We installed a new water pump, and the intake manifold, exhaust, torque converter bolts, transmission support and starter. We then moved on to the Alternator, A/C compressor and power steering pump. Everything came together very quickly as we kept our bolts and parts labeled and organized.
In the end, we are in this vehicle for about $1,000, which includes the purchase price at $200, title and registration at about $200 and $600 in parts, fluids and gaskets.
This was an amazing opportunity to teach my son some things about vehicles. He’s still very young and has a lot to learn, but he’s catching on very fast.

In part one of project “Hemi Jeep” I show my son the ropes of turning wrenches! As a retired Master Mechanic with almost 30 years of experience, I figured this project would be perfect for teaching my son the in and outs of being a mechanic, as he has shown interest in doing so. We bought this Jeep with a known bad engine. It had a very bad engine knock and the rear main seal was leaking, as we...

I was looking for a VERY rare combination of Ford Escape! After a long time (and distance) of searching, I found her! It’s a 4x4 Ford Escape with a 4 cylinder and a 5 speed manual transmission of course an vehicle had to come from Alaska to satisfy this Alaskan’s expectations! It’s a 2003 Ford Escape. 145,000 miles. This is going to be a running and driving project, so all work done will not ta...
Best Cheap Rifle Case for almost ANY ATV

Showing my simple and highly effective gun case that I made for my ATV. This particular ATV is a 2007 Polaris Sportsman 500 X2. After buying a very expensive rifle case and mount from Polaris, I had delt with multiple problems of it breaking or breaking my 4 wheeler after getting bumped by brush. I built this because I needed a rifle case that gave extremely quick access to my rifle for reasons...

Removing the old style TV from the 80's and continuing the path to bring this old RV into the 21st century. The laptops screen can be flipped which is why you don't see the keyboard (it's behind the screen in the video). We have a ton of DVDs so no worries if cell or wifi is unavailable. After this video we took it for a short road trip. The boys fell in love with this motorhome (vs the old one...

Hey what's the house battery situation with yours? Does it have 12v in parallel or 6v in series and does it have 2 or 4?

The RV was sold a long time ago, but it had two, 12V marine batteries hooked up in parallel

Just make sure to convert all of your interior lights and outside lights to LED. You’ll get way more hours out of them. Stuff the biggest batteries you can find into the tray, or at least the biggest ones your budget will allow. Even a used car battery will work to get you through a summer or two.

@@mikegaddis8556 That's a great idea, I hadn't even thought of that. My shop light and flashlights are LED but I totally forgot that the bulbs in the RV are probably incandescent. Thanks for reminding me!

@@mikegaddis8556 So I've checked every compartment and can't find anything that looks like a place for the house batteries. Do they go right next to the chassis battery? There's space there but doesn't look like enough room for 2.

Thanks for your reply. The mounting on the ATV side came with the ATV. All I did was flip one bracket so that both brackets faced opposite directions. One the case side, I just used 4 bolts and stacked washers to allow that to slide through the ATV brackets. Fabrication work is more art than science.
