Nutrition for Children with Pancreatitis: What Should Your Child Eat?
I’m 21 and keep getting pain right in my under my chest bone and it can happen like once a month or twice in a week, would u consider that acute pancreatitis?
Sir, is stomach gurgling with cramping a symptom?
Great educational video. I've been on them and I can tell you that you are spot on.
I lost 75 pounds. And felt terrible over 18 months. I’m on creon for life I don’t have diarrhea anymore but still weak and tired but no cancer I think agent orange caused this. I was in Ear and a Dr diagnosed IBS. Who knows I’m grateful it seems corrected but what’s going on
My uncle was suffering from severe pancreatitis, and after trying various treatments with no relief, he found complete relief through the natural solutions provided by IAFA Ayurveda. Within just three months, his condition improved significantly, and he regained his health.

I am 55 years old, newly diagnosed with CP ,associate with mild pain episodes ,now on Creon. I am from Juba South Sudan , my question is, am I eligible to participate in clinical trials ? Please inform I am interested.
Very informative!
Thank you for breaking down the difference. It's frustrating when visiting the ER, and they say "well you're enzymes look fine." I have chronic pancreatitis and now understand that I'm probably experiencing a flare up
Yes! Me too. Very frustrating. It’s awful 😞
We're so glad that you found this helpful!
Is salmon good also and tummeric
I have low elastane for years, was described digestion enzymes from hospital today, xxx
Thank you just diamond this year.I am still learning the right dose for me.Having lost nearly 20 kilo down to 54 kilo at my lowest. Now coming right slowly. My social life is improving after being to scared to leave the toilet.😂
We will not rest until we find a cure!
💙💙
It seems people don’t typically live many years after this procedure
This video is amazing... Thank you so much..
We're so glad you found it helpful! 💙
I was also diagnosrd with bile salt malabsorption in receng gut repprt and malfunctioning renin angiotensin pathway
The blood test isn't reliable then why does my doctor doesn't take seriously my fecal elastass test which is only 15 when it is meant to be over 200?
Or I m being ignored. Blood test is not reliable but the gold standard test is ignored in my case.

Good day! I am from the Philippines and I have chronic pancreatitis and was diagnosed last January this year. By now I am already suffering from insomnia, also my blood sugar had increased. How I wish to be healed but I don't know if I am given the proper care and proper medication as well. I pray that you could connect with me in overcoming this issue I am undergoing through at the moment. I am widow and alone in the house, and my only outlet is to watch vedios and webinars here on youtube.

what exactly is enzyme treatment?
Enzyme treatment, or PERT (pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy), helps your body digest food when your pancreas isn’t producing enough enzymes. You can learn more about enzymes in our EPI playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLJXha4Nvx8NJRu03C4kOj3CyoqjvB_Q6u&feature=shared Or on our PERT page: mission-cure.org/managing-pancreatitis/pancreatic-enzyme-replacement-therapy/ Hope this helps! 💙
I just came out the hospital for acute pancreatitis, thankfully in AZ I can walk into a dispensary without repercussions, I took one gummy and noticed it helped me a lot with pain and appetite, I would love to contribute more to studies
Your TEA sounds like TENS to me. That was one of the early things we tried at my pain clinic - I’ve loved my TENS for back pain for years - so I was hopeful it might affect my pancreas. It did. It was awful! It felt like my poor pancreas went into spasm, and didn’t quiet until I turned the TENS off. Damn. Hope your concept works better.
i was diagonised as pancreatitis and next day they aid its diabetes mellitus and put me on insulin. any idea??
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis-it can be overwhelming to navigate these changes. It’s important to work with your doctor to identify the root cause of your condition. I’ve had Chronic Pancreatitis since 2017 I’m willing to try any new cures!
How do I know how much enzyme to take? I aim for about 10 grams of fat per meal, and for that, I take 2-36,000 u Creon capsules. I can eat more fat once in a while, and use 36,000 u per 5 fat grams. Yay, pizza and nachos! But be careful. Restaurants disguise the fat where you least expect it. Though it took some effort to find out, Chicken Salad Chick’s lowest fat chicken salad contains 36 grams of fat! Impossible.
Adjusting enzymes based on fat intake can be tricky, and it’s always a good idea to check nutritional labels. For more information, check out our page on PERT dosing guidelines: mission-cure.org/managing-pancreatitis/pancreatic-enzyme-replacement-therapy/ and our EPI webinar playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLJXha4Nvx8NJRu03C4kOj3CyoqjvB_Q6u&feature=shared Hope this helps! 💙
Is this cancer?
It’s a common concern, but pancreatitis is not the same as pancreatic cancer. Pancreatitis occurs when the pancreas is inflamed, while pancreatic cancer involves tumor growth in the pancreas. For more details, check out our FAQ on pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer: mission-cure.org/complications-of-chronic-pancreatitis/pancreatitis-and-pancreatic-cancer/ Consider using our Diagnosis Toolkit to discuss your concerns with a specialist: mission-cure.org/pancreatitis-diagnosis-toolkit/ Hope this helps! 💙

Good morning, I'm a pancreatitis victim by proxy. I was born with a congenital birth defect known as Pancreatic Divisum and it directly caused acute pancreatic attacks regularly just missing the category of being considered chronic. I was prescribed medical marijuana to manage my discomfort, but not as you may think. Originally back in the 2019.. I was severely injured in a work-related injury that resulted a broken coccyx and dislocated/torn rotator cuff associated with a C-3,4,5 herniation in my neck. All combined after totaling (3) surgeries I was prescribed opioid for pain. Unfortunately, like most people in my situation, opioid options are a terrible way to manage pain due to its addictive desire to increase the potency due to the bodies natural ability to build a tolerance ...resulting in the inability to breath as usual and upto and including death. Personally, I can't take anything P/O or "By Mouth" that is in the narrow category because my stomach rejects it... a nice way of saying 🤮... So my doctor advised a new treatment that is much more easily tolerated. (Enter) Medical Marijuana... It has been a phenomenal way to deal with life lasting pain and helps with sleep mostly as that is its recommended usage for me. Sleep is very important to health and recovery. Around the summer of 2023 I developed a new condition that landed me In NYU for 8 straight days hooked up to IV fluids, IV antibiotics, and IV Dilaudid. It turns out I had my first experience with Acute Idiopathic Pancreatitis. After the inflammation went down on the 8th day... I was sent home in hope of recovery. I continued my life with a new pain for over a year spent and still have tolerable pain from it. I would compare my pain to having 2 fingers pressed in my left side about 6 inches deep...like a running cramp, if you would consider... NYU spent almost a year conducting panel reviews in an attempt to find the roote cause of my Idiopathic situation. They have discovered something I wasn't prepared to hear. The doctors stated that my condition is most likely the result of a congenital birth defect known as Pancreatic Divisum. Through no fault of my own I now have what is typically described as abusive habits with alcohol. It shoukd be noted that I have never been named person who consumes alcohol due to my profession and the need it requires to be sober. Moreover, I do not enjoy the hangover headache for the dehydrating itbcauses the body as I also suffer from random bouts of kidney stones. The medical marijuana truly helps with my overall pain associated with all combined conditions. Still when the marijuana leaves my system after 4 or so hours the pain comes back. I can tolerate it for about 75% of my day but symptoms return quickly without prejudice, or consideration. As of today's date I still have random weekly attacks based on a 1-10 pain scale that equal an (8) on the pain level. I expanded my research to explore surgical options to cancel the pain as marijuana is a woner plant...it makes me very forgetful in this world that requires 100% focus. I was accepted to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fl One of the Nations Top hospils for special conditions. I fall in this special category because Pancreatic Divisum only involves itself with only about 10% of the known medical history of the U.S. 2% if that... of which I fall in is actually affected by painful symptoms of the acute attack. My assigned Dr. presented me with startling news stating that the Marijuana is actually inducing and or directly causing my acute attacks. In disbelief, I have done my research finding that it can be used to calm the pain associated with my condition... I don't understand how but it apparently is an actual study that proves the Dr right. But then... instead I see this video. Now more confused more then ever. Doc.. if you read this pleade reply to me as inwoukd love to become your patient. I'm not positive, but I believe Mayo os wrong. Thanks for reading, Sincerely, Drew
My triggers are a very fatty food (found out the hard way with a bbq sausage ) or a large meal 😕
It's definitely tough finding triggers, but it’s useful info to know. Thanks for sharing! 💙

Is this speaker saying that if we live out of state we can get a telehealth consultation I’m confused I live in Oklahoma. My G.I. doctor is not very responsive. I just got diagnosed with EPI and I have diabetes too so far not a great deal of pain so I would like to get on top of this quickly, of course.
If you're managing EPI and diabetes, it’s important to see a pancreas specialist or experienced gastroenterologist. Since Johns Hopkins has telehealth limits for out-of-state patients, we recommend finding a specialist in your state. Our Diagnosis Toolkit can help guide conversations with your doctor: mission-cure.org/pancreatitis-diagnosis-toolkit/ Wishing you the best! 💙
Ive been taking Bile capsules and Papaya Emzymes
What do the bile capsules do, or help with?
Brilliant!!! What ive been looking for. Your guest is a gem❤❤
We're so glad it was helpful!
Can taking too many enzyme capsules cause constipation
Consulting with your healthcare provider will help ensure you receive the correct dosage and minimize potential side effects. For more information, check out PERT dosing guidelines and nutritional tips here: mission-cure.org/managing-pancreatitis/pancreatic-enzyme-replacement-therapy/ and our webinar Q&A blog where a doctor addresses questions about enzymes and digestion: mission-cure.org/epi-and-pancreatic-enzymes/ A patient experience with enzymes and constipation: mission-cure.org/my-experience-with-pancreatic-enzymes/
Thank you for highlighting this area! There are few doctors that really understand the impact of EPI. Dr. Freedman also has an in depth article on Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency written with Dr. Struyvenberg that anyone with EPI should read. Another really helpful resource was the book Primal Pancreas.
I was diagnosed with EPI after a low fecal elastase test (72) last year, and I have been on PERT since then. I had been suffering from chronic IBS, diarrhea, weight loss, bloating, abdominal pain, and the PERT (Zenpep) seems to be helping with these symptoms, although I still have trouble maintaining weight and have occasional abdominal pain in the right side of my abdomen, below the rib cage and above the navel. I recently had my elastase retested, and my numbers are now above 400. My question is: was I misdiagnosed due to the poor stool quality of the first test, or can I still have EPI even with elastase numbers in the normal range? I've had multiple CTs, an abdominal ultrasound, PET scans and an MRI. No abnormalities were found. I plan to stay on PERT, but I'd sure like to know the hows and whys of my condition. My PHP was unaware of EPI until my case.
Poor stool quality can impact fecal elastase test results-a solid sample is typically needed for accuracy. Identifying the underlying cause of EPI is key, so we recommend discussing this with your doctor. You may find our Diagnosis Toolkit [ mission-cure.org/pancreatitis-diagnosis-toolkit/ ] and EPI playlist helpful for exploring potential causes and managing EPI: [ ruclips.net/p/PLJXha4Nvx8NJRu03C4kOj3CyoqjvB_Q6u&feature=shared ]. Wishing you the best on your journey! 💙

Salam! I am from Lahore, Pakistan. I have been a patient of chronic pancreatitis for the past 16 years due to pancreatic divisum. Multiple endoscopic procedures like EUS, Gastroscopy, ERCP with sphincterotomy and stenting has been done. My gallbladder is surgically removed through laproscopy in 2017 but still there is no pain relief. Now almost 5 months ago the celiac block was done in PKLI hospital, Lahore. In this duration of 5 months i am feeling better because of pain relief but now my pain started again from last 10 days. I am totally exhausted and frustrated from life due to the constant severe abdominal pain. I am using strong opioids painkillers such as toradol, tramadol, nelbuphine and even morphine but there is no pain relief even for a micro second. I am always screaming and crying due to the pain severity. Sometimes, i thought about suicide because i have no more potential to bear this severe abdominal pain of chronic pancreatitis. Doctors advised me to go for a Whipple Surgery with Total Pancreatectomy but they said there is a lot of death risk and we cannot guarantee you the pain relief even after Whipple Surgery with Total Pancreatectomy due to this i am confused about the Whipple Surgery with Total Pancreatectomy. If you have a complete cure and better/definite treatment for this dreadful disease then please help me. My WhatsApp Num +92332-4779047 Email address : taimoorjutt302@gmail.com
I have a 5y old son with severe EPI. He weighs 13kgs and is sevely disabled. What dosage applies in his case? Or does weight not matter?
We're sorry to hear about your son's severe EPI. The appropriate dosage of pancreatic enzymes often depends on both age and weight. It’s crucial to work with a pancreatic specialist who can tailor the treatment to your son's specific needs. Here are some resources that might help: PERT Dosing Guidelines: For detailed information on dosing guidelines based on age and weight, please visit our webpage: mission-cure.org/pancreatic-enzyme-replacement-therapy/ Managing EPI: Learn more about managing Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) here: mission-cure.org/complications-of-chronic-pancreatitis/exocrine-pancreatic-insufficiency/ We highly recommend working closely with a pancreatic specialist to ensure your son gets the right dosage and to monitor his progress. They can provide the best advice and adjustments needed for his condition.
