G-Code Assaulter's Plate Carrier review

Reviewing the new G-Code Assaulter's Plate Carrier in Ranger Green, Medium. A nicely designed slick/placard scalable carrier that is excellent for the private citizen or patrol officer. Not load bearing, not feature rich, but well made, comfortable, and lightweight. Price is a little elevated but they run sales and then ends up being a fair price. Update: Ended up returning this for 2 small rea...

Esstac Part II: Reloading with a velcro card carried on a Kywi pouch
Thanks for the review.
Great knife tool from victorinox😍
I have several of these. One Great product. A must for any 10/22 owner !
Do you talk about the different type ores of attachments used got the mag pouches? Their site doesn’t really have anything about them on there product pages.
I can answer any questions you have as far as attachments, but in this video I only demonstrate the plastic belt loops. I recently moved some them over to one-wrap on a fixed belt, will drop a video on it hopefully in the next few weeks.
I went to the site before seeing your video. They have different types of rear attachments. But no descriptions or photos of the different types.
The Ruger 10/22 stock is better. You wanna put a scope on it anyway.. If you want to use a red dot, go get a Ruger 44 magnum carbine and put it on a that.
I’m about to dip into LPVO’s. Got one coming… Ive always been all about 1x optics. But its time to learn the LPVO game!
It's a great journey. I really enjoy my red dots though.
Pretty cool minimalist carrier.
Yep! Aside from my nitpicking it's actually a really nice carrier and the quality appears to be quite good.
Know of a mount that gets the 530 to 1.93? I have a Eotech G33 and need a bit more height. Trying to achieve the 1.93 boresite with both the g33 and 530
I haven't done the math but maybe the lower 1/3 version of this mount would get you there?
Pretty dope little pack
Dumbest video ever
Checking into 18650 battery WML. Actually looking to put one on a 20" Mav88 & a basic AR. Have a ton of extra 18650s from my vaping days. I like SL so far.
Nice review. What are the mag pouches mounted on the hsgi rig?
Eagle Industries Surplus pouches, and an appearance in the middle by an Esstac DST IFAK pouch.
This looks like a nice, smartly designed carrier. It's a shame the velcro strength wasn't impressive on the shoulder straps and plate bag closures. If they could fix that, I'd pick one up.
Yeah, and everything else about this is nice. Hope they take the feedback into account, especially something like shoulders and plate bags don’t need to be adjusted all the time once they are set in place.
Behind the cork screw is a pin slot
Too bad you didn’t try on the holster.
Hey yeah probably should have shown that. It does sit low enough that it's concealed well but I can get a full grip on it without having my knuckles hit the belt line.
Just ordered 4 & a buffer too. Illinois is restricted! Barely kept Ruger off ban list.
That's crazy.
Hello there fellow Sord enjoyer! Good overview - now I need to get one of these myself. Looks like a better-featured Source Commander 10L.
Hey Mate! Never tried the Commander, but I very much love this bag. Only thing is you may want to buy some elastic and buckles to DIY your own sternum strap. Thanks for the comment!
How is your 530 holding up?
Great! Same mount, same everything. Happy with it. Sometimes I think for the money I should've saved up a bit more and just gotten an Aimpoint, but that's not because of any durability or performance issues, it's purely for the brand name and reputation.
Thanks….. I just brought one. There aren’t a lot of reviews and your video was helpful. You should definitely do a follow up on this optic
Anyone who wants to get these stocks be warned they will break if you try to get them off your gun to put on another. And will completely lock up and you will have to completely disassemble and take a hammer and punch to just to get off your buffer tube. Bcm completely dropped the ball with their stocks
Wow. Did this happen to you or you saw it online? I've taken it on and off and I had no issue removing or replacing the BCM stock back as long as I followed the instructions (admittedly it's a bit tricky).
odd how much of the feedback is negative, im sure this video answered the questions of many others as it did mine.
Nice! Free floating barrel? Also will a 16" Ruger barrel fit since it's longer?
Yep, as long as you don't use the barrel band it would be free floated. I believe it would fit without any issues! But might want to check with Boyds just in case.
@@ordinary_american didn't realize how tiny them Ruger stocks are. That's what I have right now. But in 16".
Hey man, I just got the main hinged dangler pouch for my chest rig, I was thinking about what to do with the “hinged” sides of the pouch. I’m either going to get two hinged tq holders, or one tq holder and then possibly that smaller hinged go pouch. Would that be ridiculous attached to the main hinged pouch? I would like to know your opinion. Thanks!
Hey, sorry for the late reply! Yeah if I'm understanding correctly, it would be awkward to have a hinged GP pouch attached to the main dangler pouch, and have that all under your main chest rig load. I would do either 2 TQ's or 1 TQ and run shock cord through the hinged end and have a way to lash a small field knife or gloves. Of course play around with it and see what you like! It does take some trial and error to land at the right solution.
@@ordinary_american I appreciate it! I went with the 2 TQ holders and they look great!
fwiw, I find Safariland belt slide a hundred times better on a leather belt than the belt loop.
Thanks for the review, definitely thinking of getting this for quick access to supplement my larger ifak like you recommended.
I've never thought about putting anything other than mags in these pouches; thank you so much!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching
No front pockets bäääh
How did you link the pouches together? Some sort of elastic material or weaving the webbing? I'm trying to recreate this and am sort of confused on that front.
So I tied them together with elastic shock cord on the Molle webbing and that also allowed it to stretch with movement and breathing. You could use 1” siamese for webbing clips, or Green Force Gear makes Molle adapters that can be used to configure a chest rig, specifically created for this kind of setup. Shock cord worked fine for me. Let me know if you have any q’s.
One Wrap works fantastic on that Blue Alpha belt. I have the same one but from Warrior Poet and the One Wrap Velcro keeps it in place. Sorry I’m sure you know that by now but just ran into your video today. Thanks for the in-depth video.
Thanks for the review! I've been on the hunt for a slick carrier but with a little more capability based on need. The G-code caught my eye over the Ferro slickster or t-rex arms etc. I really like that the bags are sewn to the outside of the load bearing portion. Seems like it would hang on the body much more comfortably.
Yeah it's going to be better than a Ferro Slickster or Trex AC1. More features, scalability, and ergonomics (in my opinion). Bags should be more comfortable too, but I didn't use it long enough to confirm.
I suppose a dremel and 5 mins of time could fix that QD limited issue
Have you had to change the velcro adhesive 3 years later? Did it damage the finish?
Hey, I ended up replacing it with a fresh velcro and the old one did not damage the finish at all.
@@ordinary_american nice. Did u just peel it off slowly or did you have to apply rubbing alcohol and let it sit first before your peeled it off?
@@ST-ep5ek Just peeled it off. You could use a light spray of Ballistol or CLP if you want to make it easier to peel off.
Cut through denim, firefighter turnout gear, fire hose.
It can definitely do that.
@@ordinary_americanLet’s see that video. Just saw a video that put XShears against Raptor and One Shear and XShears came out on top. Just wish the green handle came in the titanium coating.
What is the range of adjustment of the interpupillary distance?
I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried the co-witness Aridus CROM low mount system with an XS big dot front sight? I've seen Wilson combat front sights matched with Aridus' ghost ring system and they seem to be much taller than the big dot system
That would be an interesting combination. Might look into that if I'm ever lucky to get a 1301...
Thank you for this video! What texture was your Safariland Holster before the wrap, I wanna do the same thing but I’m not sure if it can work on mine since my holster is stx tactical instead of plain stx
Plain STX. It should, as long as the adhesive is applied properly and evenly, and the cordura is pressed down well. But best to ask someone like Havok who does this professionally! Thanks for watching, hope it works out.
yikes....not sure if your joking about configure the sheath
Do you mean the part where I wanted belt loops instead of a clip? Just easier and why not, make the gear work for you.
You never used the pliers, never used the fish scaler, never used the awl, think you never will, wasn't sure what a wood saw was or a can opner, never use the pen , never use the flat head screwdriver . Can i suggest you use at least some more of the tools ? The pliers for instance is a very precise precision tool . For small delicate tasks , pulling picture hooks out of walls , adjusting small nuts , computer and electronic work . I just seems a shame you never use many of the tools ?
Thanks for the feedback, yeah I could see how that comes across in the video. I can assure you I do use the tools and over the years it's become second nature! It's really a fantastic multitool that I continue to use till today.
i cant find any information anywhere, how do you go about attaching the TQ dangler to the GP pouch? that method of attachment is new to me.
So it's Esstac's unique way of attaching. You'll need the TQ dangler from them esstac.com/hinged-dangler-tourniquet-tq-pouch/ and then you'll thread that piece of polymer/tegris through both the TQ and the GP slots, then secure it in place with the laser cut end tie. Does that make sense? Their pictures on the website help and I'm sure they would be happy to walk you through it.
@@ordinary_american ah okay, looking at the photos i get what you're saying. I'm actually missing the polymer piece that inserts between the two, that's why i didn't understand it. thank you.
@@ordinary_american did you have to source the tegris yourself or did esstac supply it with the order?
Outstanding video and demonstration. Thank you for the information. Also love your call to education before invasive treatment is used.
Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
$20 is a steal! I have the Beez dangler which is exactly like the Ferro mini dangler. This is about the same size but for less than half the price.
Yep, it’s great. Thanks for watching!
Great video I been looking at this lately and def gained a new subscriber from me looking forward to your other views on different kit They only have the paracord style I’d like to get ahold of the laser cut version if possible
The Esstac website pictures are not updated but pretty sure they only make and sell the laser cut DST version nowadays.
@@ordinary_american thanks so much it said it was gen 2 I was just making sure before I order it great video man
I'm a really big fan of the standard Gunfighter.
Just bought a 14.5 from Bcm. Putting it on an aero lower. It’s my first AR. Primary arms is doing a summer sale right now and I got all the lower parts for 500. Geiselle combat trigger and Bcm stock and grip. Aero lower parts kit. Aero buffer tube kit. Radian charging handle with 45 degree safety.
Excellent choice of parts!
BCM pistol grip is amazing
Yes it is!
The mod 1 or mod 3? I think about going the bigger mod 3
@@IkfNorCalChamp mod 3 still comfortable with my small hands, the proportions are very good
Magpul K2 grip is where it’s at. I wouldn’t trade that out (except for a review).
Love the K2 but going to give the Mod 3 a fair try, so far so good.
@@ordinary_americanmod 3 is definitely better.
I saw another RUclipsr show the install, and he didn’t get in trouble
Awesome overview and detailed information. Have you compared the Esstac IFAK to the Direct Action IFAK?…they both are 2 MOLLE columns wide and look almost same in overall dimensions. Again, great thoughtful review! 🇺🇸
Thanks for the kind words! I took a look at it, interesting pouch - assuming you're referring to their Vertical IFAK. it looks like it sits flatter but wouldn't hold as much as the DST. The DST is bigger by about at least half an inch in width and depth. Looks like a good option though!
@@ordinary_american I agree, from looking at the esstac dst2 it seems to have more capacity than the direct action, which is a plus for me. Appreciate your reply, sir!!!
Have you considered the cybertool m for the office/it environment?
That's actually a great tool. It would be perfect for the resident IT guy or office handyman. Ultimately I like the Swisschamp because it still has tools that are useful outside the office and in the field, while still maintaining a very social/office friendly appearance.
The audio cut off my typical sign-off message, sorry about that! Like, comment, share, and sub. Thanks for watching!
It is good.
