I make a lot of cozies, and here's how I attach my charms to the finished project. It's also my most slap-dash video, so thanks for your grace!

    I wish I had found you when I was a beginner! I am intermediate and I’ve been making a ton of granny stitch scarves when I just want to relax and not think about it. I was looking for something else similar and found this and it’s fun and perfect! Thank you so much. I will definitely check out your other videos!

    What do you mean by one and two on the third row? Do i not increase?

    • @simplecrochetsbysummerdana2000
      @simplecrochetsbysummerdana2000 11 месяцев назад

      Hello! On the third row, you're going to put one single crochet in the first stitch and two in the second stitch. Then you repeat that: 1SC in the next, 2SC in the next. So the even stitches get the increases.

    Hi, may i know the width n length of this scarf. Tks

    • @simplecrochetsbysummerdana2000
      @simplecrochetsbysummerdana2000 Год назад

      I don't remember (and my notes don't say 🤦🏼‍♀️), but I think it's about 5" x 72".

    • @tansiewkhim8360
      @tansiewkhim8360 Год назад

      My 22 chains come up to slightly less than 4". How many chains do I need to increase to make 5"?

    • @simplecrochetsbysummerdana2000
      @simplecrochetsbysummerdana2000 Год назад

      I think it would be at least 5 more chains, though I don't remember the multiples you need to chain to make the pattern come out right. The best plan would be to chain way more than you need (like 10 or even 15), then stop when your project is the width you want. Then you can pull out the slip knot and extra chains when you're completely finished.

      Tqvm for yr invaluable info n fast response. Can u recommend to me which type of yarn is more suitable for making scarf, I mean the softer n not rigid type. Tq

    • @simplecrochetsbysummerdana2000
      @simplecrochetsbysummerdana2000 Год назад

      @@tansiewkhim8360 You're welcome! And sure! It all depends on your budget, color preferences, and how often you need to wash it. Worsted weight acrylic is awesome and can be found in any big box store. It's durable and washes well, though it's not the softest. Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" is one of the softest in this category though. You can also find size 3 (DK) in baby yarn, and those are usually really soft and washable. The color choices are narrower though. If you're willing to spend more money, you can go for wool or wool blends at a local yarn shop. They are gorgeous, soft, and worth the money, but they wash differently and are more expensive. I know that's a lot of info, but I hope it helps!

    Can this be made without the magic ring, which for me, is really confusing?

    • @simplecrochetsbysummerdana2000
      @simplecrochetsbysummerdana2000 4 года назад

      I feel you! Yes, to get it nice and tight in the middle, you can just chain 2, then work all 6 SCs into the chain farthest from the hook (the one by the knot). It will be kind of crammy for 6 SC in one chain, but yes, it beats the confusion of the magic ring! I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Hi! First of all I learned to crochet from you. I've taken bits & pieces from dozens of videos but yours just work for me, so thank you. About 100 washcloths later & two blankets I was ready for a different "shape" & I ended up here. I successfully completed this little beanie no problem, with your video. Question, what do I do with the tail left over from the very beginning, just weave it in I am assuming?

      Aww, thanks so much! If I had to ballpark it: when it's flat, it's about 12" wide by 16" tall? And the handles are just tall enough to fit my elbow through (so the distance from my thumb to my elbow), so about 14"? And of course I can't find the one I made! 🤦 I hope this helps!

    Thank you very much Summer , I'm somewhat of a slow learner , but you were very easy and fun to follow. I had to start over a few times , but I finally figured out why I wound up with double the stitches LOL ...until I finally paid close enough attention to hear you say no need to chain one before the V ...UGH like I said , I'm slow , which why these tutorial are so wonderful for me . I can just push pause ...which you can't do with a teacher or instructor . Thank you so very much I am going to be a first time Great Grandma or rather ( UrOma) since I am German . she'll be getting lots of cool things

Now I understand that important end where there are two chains to finish. I too like to go in the back bump... I am able to see my v's easier that way too. Do more tutorials... your an excellent teacher.
