Hi Richard, it's definitely not AI :) ... Thanks for the comment however.
Hi Guys, Love the stain glass. When the sun comes through it must look amazing. How cool to have your own chapel.
It really does look great, we took some pictures and videos but as the weather is not the best we will need to upload them another day.
What a cliffhanger
I know, we do have the footage of the final window but the weather was too gloomy so we will need to upload it a little later. :)
It's a nice bathroom. But.. I'm sorry, I know, my opinion hardly matters. I have followed ALOT of chateau/castle/Maison d'maitre restorations on RUclips the last few years, and in my humble opinion, that room does not in any way, say castle. It could easily be mistaken for a fancy flat in... Sweden or wherever, really... And off course, it is personal taste, but I feel like, if I go to a castle or chateau for whatever reason, I have certain expectations, right? I mean, if you just close your eyes for a minute, and think about, what the word castle (or chateau), brings to mind, then what do you imagine? A modern IKEA style bathroom - or is it more claw foot bathtub, old brass fittings, mahogany, marble, antiques, heavy gold frames? I think that is quite an important pointe. Plus, every time I see someone, buying, or even viewing a castle, and there is a bathroom or kitchen, that was perfectly modern, just 10 years ago - It just looks horribly outdated already! It's as if the fact, that it is in these surroundings, makes it look bad, faster. But, if the bathrooms and kitchens are made in a very classic style, that looks more "original" to the castle - it just looks and feels better and more appropriate. Not, that those can't also look bad, but generally, if they are maintained and taken care of, they just fit the fantasy, you know? Now, I don't mean, that you can't bring some contemporary into an old, or ancient, building. Fx. I really like, what you have started with the upholstery of the antiques! 😊
Hi Rasmus, Thank you for watching our videos and for your thoughts. I understand where you are coming from, and our whole ethos has been to maintain the soul of the building and make it fit for the next 400 years, and for that you need quality that can last. The first rooms you have seen are not the best example of what we are working on overall. These rooms were empty shells, unused for 50 years, and even before that nothing more than simple servants quarters. That gives us some freedom in decorating them without trying to 'pretend' that they were always part of the castle in a certain way. I hope you will find that the actual castle rooms are evoking a feeling of being in a grand old building. With best regards from Ireland, Kolin and Alex
Heartless..ignoring the donkeys??? They are social animals and just want some affection!
It took me a while to understand what you meant. They really, and also so intelligent, and I'm glad to say they are back with their original owners living near Cork now. During the filming they were playing along and always greeted Kolin when he came through the doors. They loved it.
big YAY guys Love from Canada
Cheers William!
vibe is down 🙌🏼
🥂
Can't wait to see the chapel finished! What an incredible room
Thank you, we have some great plans for it.
Great move. The stain glass feels much more "at home" in the chapel. Beautiful
I totally agree!
Stunning! 🤍
Thank you! 😊
Weasel Window 😂😂 🤍
😂
lovin the retro vibes and of course the window
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
What a great idea moving it into the chapel 👌🏼. It was a little scary watching them move the window 😳
Right?! Moving it out to the van was actually the scariest
Great episode!! I plan on buying a chateau in France and watching this episode was very educational!!! Thank you. You two are so refreshing!! Lots of love from Tennessee ❤❤❤
Thanks April, and what a great idea / great journey ahead of you. We originally were looking in France as well, the Loire Valley. There are so many gorgeous chateaux available.
Is this really Irish, pure English castle, prods, anglo Irish really.
Thanks Jim, we are trying to be careful that it is not too 'typical' but of course we want to honour the history as well.
@@KilloskehaneCastle fair enough, a great answer. I hope ye have a great life together.
Hi Guys, The chandeliers are beautiful can't wait to see them up. The plasterwork will look amazing as well.
Thanks Christina, the dome with the plaster work will be installed tomorrow!!!
@@KilloskehaneCastle Can't wait to see it.
I can't wait to see this done!!! If it's anything like the top floor I know it will be absolutely breathtaking!
Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and kind words. We’re thrilled you loved the top floor, and we’re working hard to make this just as breathtaking. Can’t wait for you to see it 🤗🤗🤗
Hi Guys, This may sound funny but my favorite is the hallway. Can't wait until its finished.
I think the hallway will be pretty cool, the floors are already down and we are just finishing the last pieces at the moment. It will be very much an art gallery and informal hangout space
Bit touchy there for a minute
Took me a minute to see what you mean 😂
@ Haha, it’s beautiful so I get it 😉
ye looks like a lot of work to do don't know how you manage it all 😅
Lol well it's all in a days work? Honestly it's best not to think about everything that needs to be done.
The design concepts you have now sound really lovely 🤍🤍
Thank you very much 🙏
Can't wait to see it all come together
It's getting there slowly :)
Love the "80's hard work" montage - nice touch 🙌🏼
Hahahaha thanks for noticing. We thought it was a bit of fun
That purple cardigan 😻
You have to admit, it's pretty nice, even though he stole it from Alex
Absolutely beautiful!! Brilliant idea!! Lots of love from Tennessee ❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😊
I adore the Swedish ovens - always surprised more people don't use them as they are so attractive. Your Moroccan room made me think of Justina Blakeney's Architectural Digest tour of her master bedroom/bath.
Thank you Charmaine, we have to look that up!
Wow!! Just beautiful so far. I definitely can see your plans for the rooms. Can not wait to see finish rooms!! Just love you two!! Lots of love from Tennessee ❤❤❤
Thank you April, you are very good. ☺️
Thank you so much for the updates. That hallway is going to be a masterpiece. Yes Yes Yes to the ceramic heater. More More More. Loving the banter. Sending love from Canada
You're so welcome🤗🤗Thrilled to hear you're loving the updates-and yes, that hallway is going to be pure magic! Ceramic heater? Absolutely a game-changer. More to come, so stay tuned! Sending all the love right back to Canada.🤗
Thats enough after 5 seconds
Hahahaha you are correct, it's a little filler only and not meant to be serious. Wishing you all the best.
Table and chairs is absolutely beautiful!! Perfect for the setting of the castle!! Lots of love from Tennessee USA❤❤❤
Thank you very much April ☺️
@@KilloskehaneCastle YW!! Very beautiful place!!
I needed that laugh guys. lol
I’m going through this right now! Big surprise while trenching…
Thanks Kayci. It's so exciting working on a project like this, there is always something surprising to find.
Hi guys, that looks beautiful.
@@christina-yp6jy Thank you Christina 🤗 we are glad that you liked it.
Using what you have makes it extra special. Thanks guys for taking me along in your journey. I'm having so much fun.
I'm glad Christina and thank you for saying that 🙏
It came out beautiful. Love the colors.
@@christina-yp6jy thank you 😊
Beautiful tartan.
Thank you so much, we really like it as well.
Gossip Bench, holds the Telephone & phone book. I Love Love Love the fabric on the double seat.
🤣 I had forgotten 'gossip bench', thanks for reminding me.
Gossip Bench 😂 - That's amazing
I agree it is a telephone bench.
Thanks Ronald, now we just need to find an old dial up phone ☎️
I love love love all the fabrics, especially the palm ornate chair. I love to choose fabrics that juxtapose against the ornate ornate furniture.
I'm glad you like them Melissa, it's so much fun finding the right fabric and making the furniture useful again. 🤠

Bold fabrics and for sure makes them pop 🙌🏼
We agree 💯
Whoa! Would love to see more furniture did 🥰
Thanks for the suggestion. We will definitely show more, but at the moment the majority is stored away while the rooms are being renovated
Mayo 😂😂
It actually really does work!
Telephone table/bench...love the fabrics
You are absolutely 👍 Jane ...thank you and happy thanksgiving
Kolin, chandelier would be very nice. You can also hang it on the wall. Would you leave it as is or would you paint it?
Just after we finished filming we found another wheel AND an old donkey cart. We are thinking of restoring it and using the wheels for it. So we may not make a chandelier out of it after all :)
Love those little guys
@@ChrisBoehnke Awww thank you 😊
They are adorable.
They are little monsters, but we love them
