Traveling While Paying Down Debt: Enjoy Life Before Financial Independence
Woke up with some thoughts about how we’re pursuing FIRE.
After beginning our debt pay off a few years ago we’ve pumped the breaks on the intensity to start our facility and shine our focus there.
Spending quality time doing what we love is important even along the path to Financial Independence. That’s where the personal comes of personal finance I guess.
So we took a trip to Puerto Rico! A long one too, with lots of naps and slow days with our new baby on our hips.
Just wanted to share my thoughts about enjoying life one the way to paying off all our debts.
This is our last big trip for a while. In just a few days Brad will be back to work and I’ll be starting a new job postpartum.
Wish u...

Why I'm Starting a Personal Finance YouTube Channel in 2023
Просмотров 7011 месяцев назад
Everyone has to start somewhere right? As my first video in a series of what's sure to be an embarrassing fumble through content creation, I hash out exactly why I want to create a RUclips channel around personal finance. While I know there are plenty of us who didn't grow up with saver parents and automatically happen to be frugal Freddys, I can't help but SMH when listening to a podcast or RU...

    Hey, Hope you are well. I recently visited your RUclips channel and was impressed by its aesthetic appeal. Your content is very good and your video quality is awesome. Such videos are in great demand. But it would be best if you had some updates. However, I couldn't help but notice several areas that require attention, such as SEO, rank tags, and tag volume, which seem incomplete. It appears that there are several other issues as well. I'm confident that I can assist you in optimizing your RUclips videos to improve their visibility and overall performance, waiting for your response.

    You made the right choice. If your not committed to seeing medical school through and become a doctor, it will just compound (literally) your debt. Everyone thinks they can do it all but then complain when they have too much on their plate even though they are the ones that signed up for and knew what it was beforehand. Choices and tradeoffs. Women usually think they can be a doctor and be a mother. Doesnt work like that. Medical school is 60 plus hrs of school and study and not even mentioning hands on. Then these same women complain that they dont have a personal life. Well no sh*t. It was one or the other.

    • @personalwealthkit
      @personalwealthkit 10 месяцев назад

      Thanks. Though I was fully committed I’m glad I realized the complexities of bringing a family into my debt and how I could be a slave to my job if I continued. While I disagree wholeheartedly about mothers being doctors, knowing several excellent ones myself, I do appreciate your thoughts on the subject.

    I switched my family to Mint about 3 years ago and never looked back. The only issue we've had was on a road trip traveling through a rural area we did not have service. I can't see a reason to pay more for another service provider.

    Hey great content. I have 5 kids (25, 22, 20, 18, 18) and stress to them about avoiding debt traps. So far I've been able to keep them out of debt. I think the college loan scam is one of the greatest travesties for our kids. Makes debt slaves right out of the gate. Stay out of the bars, eat at home, and don't get pregnant. You will dig yourself out. The cool thing is, you learned a lesson and take responsibility. So many people your age will never figure it out.

    I got introduced to Dave Ramsey a couple decades ago, and his program absolutely works. Got out of debt and able to build wealth. People should listen to his podcast and watch his RUclips channel to hear the debt free screams people do and to learn how to manage money. It truly, like you said, is a life changing approach. He does have a program Financial Peace University that is a step by step program of getting out of debt and building wealth. But, its also the psychology and mindset that has to occur along with the steps.
