My race track tail light is starting to fail on my durango

Thats not a fix thats an avoidance

Had the hiss myself. Simply put... you have a leak AND low refrigerant. The hiss is air in the system. The cool air is due to low refrigerant. For the vast majority of people this is NOT a DIY project. As it requires a recovery and vacuum system to pull the old refrigerant out. Then put everything under vacuum while properly servicing. There is a whole EPA certification just for doing this service. Frankly, you are better money spent to nut up and pay for a PROPER repair and service. (recovery systems and parting together a system from scratch will run you well over $2000 for something you'll probably only need to use once in your life.)

Hey, I just had this problem on my 2018 Durango too. As @emoryjaymz mentioned it was low on refrigerant due to a leaking A/C condenser (the part that looks like the radiator). The job was like $1200, but luckily I have the warranty to cover it.

I experienced this before my A/C condenser went out. I would get prepared to replace it.

On my 2013, the hissing only comes up when I put the heat on, it sounds like it’s coming from one of the vents on the passenger side. The AC blows cool but not freezing cold like you mentioned. I think there’s possibly a leak somewhere but I’ll have to look into it further.

I have a 2020 Durango. If mine were making that hissing sound I would have mine check out. Then I can determine from there on what steps I should take next. But I hope that it gives you no further issues. I’ve been watching your videos for awhile now. And I do believe that this my first time commenting. Be safe ✌🏾

It usually means a leak in the condenser, or a bad compressor, valve or evaporator. Usually means warm air coming out too.

Buys a 7 seater suv with a v8. Complains about weight and gas mileage. Did your brain short out before or after you bought it? There's also this nifty thing called a manual that tells you how to jump it......and no, it doesn't require moving seats

For me it’s been my Evap which was a pain in my ass! And the A/C hissing like a loud ass snake I’ve had my baby (Demitrious) for 5 years 2016 SXT I’m hooked I’ll buy another one in 3-4 years for sure! Other then that no issues!

Dome lights are not supposed to be super bright. The interior lights are really on to be used at night in the dark. Have you ever gone from a bright room inside a house to stepping outside in the dark. It takes longer for your eyes to adjust. Upgrade them if you want. But know the dangers. I'm not looking to buy the R/T model so badges don't concern me. That wheel well gap is for clearance and to be able to put beefier tires on. I live in the Midwest. Mud and snow are a regular occurrence for me during their respective seasons. Battery location can be annoying. But you clearly haven't looked under your hood. There are terminals under your hood to jump start you vehicle or for you to hook up to jump start someone else. Read your manual my friend. If only dodge put it under the floor of the chargers instead of under the back seat. You would have to remove the back seat (seat portion) to get to the battery. I had a dodge Journey before and to change the battery you had to remove the front driver side tire. So yeah, I'll take it under the floor if it's not up front under the hood. As for weight, what should a full size 3 row seating SUV weigh? Have you compared it to similar sized SUVs from other manufacturers? They are all extremely similar in weight. The water seepage in the taillights was the only mechanical thing you mentioned. That is quite an annoyance, I had a vehicle that had that issue with just the driver side headlight. I tried sealing that birch like 5 times, every time I had to change the bulb because it was annoying. I ended up taking the entire headlight assembly out, smearing the entire crease with JB weld and then when I put the new bulb in I put fingernail polish all around where the bulb/socket fits into the assembly. I think the worst of the fingernail polish was that my daughters fought over which color I should use. As for the blinker being too dim..... Park on the street by your house, turn on the blinker, then walk down the street until you can't tell if the blinker is on or not. I guarantee you the flashing orange can be seen for at least 2-3 blocks away in the daylight.

I was thinking about updating my shocks for a more smoother ride. Do you recommend doing this?

If you wanted the lighter, faster, more options get the SRT-8. dude is literally complaning cuz he bought the lower trim level. Lol. It has a high ride hight because its not a race trim. You are still able to tow and haul things. The SRT-8 is lower, lighter, faster, and has better lighting. Looks like someone didn't do their homework before they bought it. 😅😅😅

Lol, wow. I’ve had my ‘12 RT for 10 years. None of these are deal breakers and this car has been rock solid.

Mine is a 2020 GT and i had the tailgate race track light go completely out, not due to water intrusion as i have had that sealed but come to find out one of my license plate light bulbs was out and upon replacing it all power was restored on the tailgate. Hope it helps someone else

what did you use to put them on?

I just took off these exact shocks but with regular mounts. What gives? Build sheet does say LL suspension. Replaces them with Bilstein non LL suspension because the mounts were different.

Radiators , water pumps, cam lifters , evap solenoid causing a leak on self test.

The camera is a separate piece.

Do you have a blacklight? I am positive these a/c systems are filled with leak detection dye from the factory and will show under a blacklight. The hissing noise more than likely indicates low refrigerant, and your lack of cool air is a further indication. Condenser could be leaking, but it could also be a number of other things.
