Dobra praca kamarat,👍👍👍🇸🇰
Hvala brate! 💪🏻💪🏻🏹
Where do you get this Fiberglass? Here in Germany they aren't available
From aliexpress, i have leave the link in the description
@@Helmbowman , Thnx for this fast answer👍✊
Another great vid brother! next time try using greaseproof paper instead of cling wrap i find it doesnt stick and makes scraping epoxy off easier and cleaner. just tape as tight as the cling wrap......... Keep them vids coming to you are at the forefront of fiberglass bow building in Europe and its great to see
That is great idea, thanks a lot brother! 💪🏻
@@Helmbowman my pleasure. Keep them coming brother and happy shooting from England
Great tutorial but what exactly does spliting the fiberglass and putting epoxy in between the parts do to it? Couldn't you bend the fiberglass without doing that? Or does it make it stronger?
That is the only way to permanently bend the fiberglass, if you bend it in form without splitting and epoxy it will return to its original shape as soon as you release the clamps, heat bending doesn’t work, so this is the only way… Thanks for watching!
@@Helmbowman Okay I figured it had to be done for a specific purpose!
awesome stuff! i have already tried this with a smaller bow and it works really well, thanks!
That is great to hear! Thanks!
@@Helmbowman do you also plan on tapering the limbs? Or do you leave them the same width from end to end?
@Noonenaught yes, i usually taper both width and thickness
@@Helmbowman how do you taper the thickness after it is bent? id imagine it would be best split the end first and then grind the taper on a jig whilst still flat and then epoxy and bend but i have not tried this yet, what is your method? thanks again
@Noonenaught It can be tapered before splitting with jig and belt sander, i taper it after bending also with belt sander by feel, without the jig… Soon i will upload a video which covers that, I’ve made a lot of bows without thickness taper with no problem, it is not necessary, but parallel limbs puts most of the stress around the fades (stress is not distributed along the whole working limb) fiberglass can handle that stress in most of the situations, but i prefer to taper
Nice work. Would this method hold up in higher draw weights? I can get 25 mm x 12 mm fiberglass bars in 2.5 meter lengths. And I'd like to try building a 120lb+ 48-inch mini recurve
Thanks a lot, i have made 100+ lbs bows using this method, works great, but I’ve made them only with static recurves, not sure about working recurves for that high of a draw weight
That is a great way to do it. I have never seen anyone but you do this.
Thanks a lot Dan!
Thank you friend of bow builders extraordinary
Thanks a lot friend! 😁
It's fantastic, brother! I like these light green fiberglass strips very much(I don't like the black ones). Where did you buy them? Did you buy them on AliExpress? What Search-Keyword did you use to find these light green fiberglass strips on AliExpress? Thank you very much!
@@matthewyu3531 thanks a lot bro! The green stuff is way better than black cause they use epoxy in green and polyester resin in black. I will now put the link from aliexpress in this video description because its somewhat hard to find in aliexpress search
Thank you very much.
Nice 👍
@@backyard.craftsman Thanks a lot brother! 😀🙏
You build awesome short bows ... But just to high poundage for my bad elbows and shoulders! Love your videos brother ... may God continue to bless you!
Thanks a lot Joe! God bless!
Saw the thumbnail and thought "this video is about some creature I've never seen before."
Hahahah it look like that 🤣
🆒😎🤟! I will never look for trouble with Katarina! You can't even run away she will get you. 💢 🎯
Hahahhahah true! 🤣💪🏻
🆒❣️👍 thank you!
Truly amazing work, been watching some of the Indonesia bowyers, they make it look so simple. I love the turkish, korean and asiatic bow designs. Your work is a kind of mix of styles, with takedown, impressive talent man!
Yeah, it is amazing technique, allows for making a variety of bow shapes… Thanks a lot friend!
Hola quedo muy bueno el arco buen trabajo 🏹👍
Thanks brother!
EXCELLENT as always! That one will put an arrow through a Deers heart.
@@12clr12 thanks a lot! 🙏🙏🙏
Did you learn that from some Indonesian bowyer? The result is great
Thanks! Yes, i did watch videos from Indonesian bowyers about this technique
very nice work bro. You did well to drop poundage too. That 6mm EFG is no joke and carries loads of power.
Thanks a lot! 6mm is real powerhouse 😅
@@Helmbowman I can make 70lb bow with 4mm efg but this is using extra long Siyah Manchu style . Keep your works coming. So cool to see the boundaries you push with your builds!!!
@@benpriestman4015 Nice, you should make a video when you have time! Thank you 😁
Now I am excited. Not sure if this is my bow but, mine is probably next.
Thanks! Yours next! 💪🏻😁
@@Helmbowman Man, I am really excited. That looked like a great little bow too.
@UncleDanBand64 thanks a lot Dan!
There's a trick to get the glue all the way into the beginning of the split you stuff in the glue like you did then l use flat type locking clamps /pliers to squeeze the glue in starting from the outside working inwards. This will gradually press the glue all the way into the beginning of the split
I saw video of that few days ago, it was Indonesian bowyer, its really good trick, i will start implementing it, thanks friend 😃
@@Helmbowman yep that's where I got it from I prefer to use wider flatter locking pliers thinking that the ones her used might damage the fibre glass. Although that stuff is tough. When you started with 6mm and said 50 lbs I was thinking uh oh it's going to be way heavier than that. I made some 50 lbs bows with 5mm add they are longer than this one.
@jarchdm Yeah, my plan was to start with 6 an taper it to about 5, i thought because of deflex it will be weaker, but as it turns out not so much 😅
I'm really glad you have managed to start a side business with the bow making. Good for you. Just made my first successful (so far) two piece takedown. When I pretty it up a bit I'll try to make a video. I know I'm really crap at that part. I did use a unique technique to make it. I've never seen anyone use it before so that might be interesting I actually filmed part of that.
@jarchdm Thanks a lot for supporting me! Wow, im really interested to see that, looking forward to the video 😀
Orck bow is absolutely perfect, killing machine. ❤
Thanks a lot! It has Orc vibes Indeed 😂
Would love a bow like this. 🆒😎🤘. Though not clear where you got the takedown system from or how you made it . The rest is very explained very well .
Thanks a lot! 💪🏻 Sorry i forgot to put video link for takedown, now i have put it into the description
@@Helmbowman thank you🤘
Dobar video.
Hvala puno!
Nice safe money
My friend, I just want to tell you to be careful with the technique both you and Katarina are using; your string arm elbow when pulling goes too high. That's easy to became a string arm shoulder injury. You and Katarina are pulling high poundages. Thank you for your videos and for showing these badass beauties!
Thanks for concerns my friend 🙏 i will pay more attention to that
The skyrim musice really set the vibe for this and my bow is hop hornbeam so you definitely deserved a like great video man.
Thanks a lot friend! I love skyrim music
Yes sir
😁👍
Prelepooo....
@@Igorrobinhud Hvala brate!
Very straight. I'm not familiar with that wood 😅
@samfulks4896 Its really good, its like stronger and more dense version of maple
@@Helmbowman thank you
It looks like the cust on a hot pocket. Its making me hungy.
not really a great test tbh. When it comes to material designed to stop arrows like foam (and gel aswell), size is the main factor when it comes to penetration. 6.2 hunting arrows penetrate less then 3.2 in foam, it's about a 15-20 cm difference between oly recurve with 120gr points & hunting bow with 200 gr field tips. Both arrow will kill an animal and if you use a 3-1 broadhead they'll both result in a passthrough. Once bone comes into play it's a completely different story however. A better test would be to shoot them through plywood for that 'what if' scenario. The 760gr beast with something like a 300gr vpa 3 blade should prove to be an extremely lethal arrow and pretty much drop anything you come across.
That makes sense, good idea with plywood, i will test that, thanks for comment
May your arrows always fly straight! Thank you
Thanks a lot brother!
Great little experiment, thank you for sharing. Gus
Thanks Gus!
Thank you very much for this important information. In Physics it's right.
Thank you for watching 😀
Brother FOC is measured at Meat not foam and with sharp broadheads good luck
Bullshit!
Ok, I think all of the heavy foc and heavy arrow has more to do with the "AIMING" Crowd wanting a closer point on distance. Not that there is anything wrong with that. The key is hitting the animal right.
Agree with you friend!
I'm not sure I got this right. does this mean, high foc on its own may be responsible for the increase in impulse with heavier arrows? or is weight distribution an additional effect to increased mass? sorry if I misspelled or said sth weird, not my native idiom.
Yes, it seems so 😀
Do you think it might have more to do with the angle of attack that improves, or is it that the weight distribution leads to a different distribution of inertia that is more favourable? I could imagine the tail of the arrow having less mass would reduce tail whipping once the tip has entered the matt, since the impulse would be carried in the tip thus having less effect on the friction of the shaft .
It is probably combination of many things, as you said the less mass on the tail saves energy, i also think that high foc arrow fly straighter with less wiggles which also saves energy
Damn You Tube. I have a major typo and can't fix it.
Ah, thats annoying, good luck fixing it
👍
👍
That is a powerful bow.
Yes, i use that bow the most 😀
Those fiberglass rods in the market are epoxy...?
They are probably fiberglass in polyester resin, but they would work for a bow
👍
Amazing
Very interesting
Nice
That heat gun stand is smart. 👍
Thanks a lot friend!
That is nice. I think that is the bow for me just about 12 pounds lighter draw.
Thanks! Yes, i think that design would suit you 😀
@Helmbowman Yes I agree just a touch of back set or deflex for smoothness. You are a brilliant bowyer. Nobody else is doing anything close to that in short bow. If they are there is no cut in shooting window to give more of a centershot.
@UncleDanBand64 Thanks for compliments, i will do my best!
Exelent! Wich brand and model is this bow?
Thanks, i made this bow, it is moulded fiberglass and carbon
@@Helmbowman Exelent job. No only work perfectly, Is also beautiful
