Operation Venedy: I bought a coal mine out
Просмотров 64421 день назад
Did i need to no, did i do it yes. Because i could. The mine ran from 1921 to 1969 hauling tons of coal out into the world, tho idled it is maintained and guarded DO NOT TRESPASS VIOLATORS WILL BE SHOT AND PROSECUTED ARMED GUARDS ON DUTY It was with permission from the owner to allow for all this to happen as 9 minecars decided to follow me home a thousand miles to PA. #railroad #railway #train...

I wanted some progress so i bit the bullet and painted the locomotive. It wasn't a perfect process but it os fresher and cleaner than it was before. It isn't done but being tired meant i couldn't finish it. #railroad #railway #train #railwayrestoration #narrowgauge

The most controversial HO scale railcar...
Don't film the same spot over and over as you talk. This is VIDEO, people want to see things get done. Film working on stuff not walking around or a forklift doing the same thing over and over. I'd love to see a mine car BUILT not you talking about one day getting around to it.
Rad!
You are a busy man!
Such a Boye
When are you moving the continuous miner and longwall?
Very cool!
Can I please get a full picture of the no. 9’s blueprints?
Cool
That's a beautiful model
That’s cool! Driving trains is your job!?
Welcome back!
Cool love the progress
Looks like a Kool Set I'm one of those Who had the 12v And You still have a great imagination P. S you still working in MDs???
This is very well done! Amazing!
Thanks dude! I gotta build some more C&S cars
Looks great Matt.
Thank you
You need a portable fence and a few goats to bare everything !
There was clearing done but we will need goats at some point
Well - there’s no snow left. It did the job
This was after it (but not caught on film) ran into the turn table pit and later into the rear of a freight train.
That's a beautiful machine right there!
Dang right that SW7 is.
Nice collection. I scrapped all my steamers for diesels! 😃
Steam is king... when they run right
I have one of these but mine’s number 198, it’s a great engine and the guys at the club love watching it (except for one who constantly complains that I have it set too loud 😅 but whatever) and I’m thinking about buying a matching five car set of those new coaches BLI are making
Ah dude. Nice! I suggest the walthers B60s for the head end they are really good baggage cars. If you can get the P54s (non EMU version) you can have one heck of a nice consist for a large part of the system. Nice you got sound.. i am content with no sound so long as she runs good which as you also say is a clock. Thanks for watching
Needs speed to get over the switch? Sounds like you need to upgrade and adjust the pickups, clearly a poor design choice if that’s how it came from the factory
It is a 4-4-0 when it comes to picking up. Tho it would be nice if the number 10 switch's frog was actually wired. It is rare for steam smaller than a big boy to run on this. My little SW's don't always make this switch and they are all wheel pick up
@@mattsmocs3281 tender pickups, pickups on the leading/trailing wheels, if short wheelbase locos from 70 years ago have less trouble getting over insulfrogs than brand new models then you have a serious issue
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your story. We are at the beginning of this journey, will NOT be buying a Clayton, as I’ve heard hoards of Clayton owners advise against it.
Beautiful piece of Engineering
Hehe. Yeah she is quite lovely. And the line was just perfect today.
Love it really cool setup
Thats my friends store layout
So I have to ask; What ever happened with this box car, was it restored, put on display, or is it still in New Bloomfield?
I know as much as you. I do plan in future ti make another trip down. It was radio silence for a bit.
@mattsmocs3281 who's property or wheir does it reside, just might do my own investigation.
@@kaitlynekuhn private property. It is visible from a road but the site is fenced. O had permission by the owner during this video
You don't happen to remember what road it is visible off of without trespassing?
Great update !
I'm in this one
Thats why it sucked >xp
Your sigfig is absolutely GOATED
You're absolutely goated! Thanks! It is a misprinted Life on Mars assistant torso
Hello, Fun to see the locomotive running. My Grandfather and his brothers were founders of the Fate Root Heath Co. which became the Plymouth locomotive works. My father was president of the company until they sold in 1966. Good product! Great memories, Ben Root
we found that a 2 i9nch square in front of the rear wheels spread the ballast and cleaned the top of the rails.
We have a plow for the car but at the time of recording it wasn't yet installed because we wanted to test its capabilities. It performed well so the plow will be mounted by the next ballast session
Looks like a Plymouth switching locomotive?
It was built by a machine shop for a christian camp originally before being replaced by a larger loco of the same maker, both in Georgia
What is the engine?
It was a custom done up 2' made from a tractor by a Christian camp in Georgia, it is way overbuilt but fun to run
Was that newly laid rail ?
We added 70 feet of track on to the end of track from the beginning of the video. Plus readied another 60 for construction. So in the later running clips we were on freshly done up track plus the then laid line got tuned up. Next video is the ballast dumping op
That’s awesome!
I don't think I've ever seen an HO broad gauge layout
Its rare.. more common in OO but there is a few HO broad modelers. I am the only one doing 6' gauge
I love about 20 mins from Batavia Illinois
I remember seeing this listed for sale maybe 20 years ago for a delusional price. Shame it sat for so long- typical though.
Yeah, but hey, it ain't bad for the price of free! And when she is done she will be a national treasure. One that you will be able to ride in..
@@mattsmocs3281 I think this one- (unless there was another one that was placed on a wagon frame) was listed for $25,000 in 2005 on the Barhart Railcar site for sale. Unsurprisingly no one jumped on it at that price. I wish you the best of luck rebuilding. Don't be afraid to use as much new wood as you need- you don't want a compromised final product. You are almost just getting this for plans and sizing and handful of parts.
First to comment, good luck buddy

Hey do you love cars, buses, trucks, helicopters, planes, boats, ships and other motor vehicles other than trains?
Love the updates
That’s awesome Matt now you can make more progress

That's a really cool locomotive man and it looks super beautiful
Thabks man
Do you have any more info on this? I found the ride trains website but this ain’t listed anywhere. Also the Friends of East Broadtop Site doesn’t seem to have anything listed. This is really exciting that it will be available in HOn3. And you mentioned a trailer as well. I like that’s it’s actually HOn3 too instead of the Bachman HO version that is incorrect. I’ve only seen the M1 in brass up til now. If it’s possible to preorder is certainly like to do that. Thanks for the heads up that this will exist!
Some things came up that delayed the release but hopefully he will have it out sooner or later
What's the length of the gap between the two ends on the big loop? How much does the grade need to be raised in that area?
I live very close to where the Collegeville Southern is (not that I know the exact location). Do you ever plan on asking for volunteers?
