Dude, I’m old enough to remember when Age of Ultron first came out and a lot of fans panned it and even considered it one of the worst entries in the MCU because the comedy and sarcasm felt like too much to keep the serious tone and high stakes. And look where we are now. It’s true that through phase 1-3 this entry felt like it had a bit of a joke overflow, but when it came to topics like Nat being forcefully sterilized or Banner living in constant fear 24/7 of his own uncontrollable power *and then so suddenly being provoked into letting that power loose on innocent people* or the Maximoff twins’ childhoods being butchered by Stark tech, even Whedon knew that some things had to be taken seriously for the respect of these characters.

This is the one movie that comes close to showing how bad the Aussie firestorm black Saturday was, 100’s of people died because like in this video the wind was so fast moving and the heat was so hot that day that it made it into the perfect storm and everyone’s escape routes got cut off, this isn’t an every day fire, this is a fire storm, the shit that will wipe out entire towns and there’s nothing that can be done, one of the scariest things to happen in Aussie history

You might've also noticed the regret and despair on the Deployment, Wild Firefighters are trained to not rely on the Fire Shelters they are given and only use them as a last ditch effort if all else fails. As Fire Shelters can survive heat up to 2,000 Degrees f' But only for a Minute at most

Someone asked why they didn't try to make a run up the hill behind them, it would have been impossible to outrun the fire. Heat rises and fires double their speed with every 10° increments, the Yarnell hill fire (irl) was reported to travel 10 to 15 mph on flat ground. Imagine trying to outrun a fire up a hill thats roughly 45°. The fire would have been traveling at least 50-60 mph up the hill behind them...swallowing the fleeing firefighters in seconds. Deploying shelters was the only option.
