A lover of journals exploring a different form of documentation
Papel = paper in Spanish. I’m a Latine who loves stationery.
Papel ALSO means “role” in Spanish-a nod to my acting degree. Also offers me the freedom to make content that explores the various roles I play in my life outside of “stationery enthusiast”

It's been about 4 days since the lineup was revealed and I KNOW you've been looking it over multiple times a day like I have. As a Hobonichi Stan, I know it can sometimes help inform your decisions to hear another person's perspective on all of the items now available to us-plus it's just fun to geek out over it with someone else! So here are my thoughts. I hope something is of interest to you ...
Littlelu might be my favorite stamp artist (a Pinky Elephant unboxing)

This was supposed to be uploaded on Sunday, but see the way my 9-5 life is set up………. I’ve been wanting to get Littlelu stamps for a really long time. Not only am I happy that my time for Littlelu has finally come, but I’m also grateful that I have a little community of stationery-lovers to get excited about it with me! It’s nice to have people that get you, you know? Also, this is my first vid...
NEW PEN DAY x2: Pilot VP 30th Anniversary in Taiwan, Majohn A1
Просмотров 7 тыс.4 месяца назад
Hello friends! I know there are already a lot of unboxing videos on RUclips of this particular pen, but that didn’t deter me from making my own because I was so so excited about this pen. It’s been a couple of days now and I’m still over the moon about it…and over the Majohn A1 I got to protect the much-more-expensive nib unit of the Pilot VP/Capless. I hope you enjoy my typical excitement over...

TIMESTAMPS BELOW FOR THE IMPATIENT FOLKS (I am one of u)! The schedule I’ve created for myself would’ve had me uploading last Saturday, but the video I’m working on is a pretty big project…as I was working on it yesterday I came across this footage from the end of 2022 and thought, BOOM, there’s my solution. A quick video to edit for an easy upload. Half a week late isn’t that bad, right? This ...
using stationery to reach my goals
Просмотров 2686 месяцев назад
Yet again, I spent way longer editing this video than I meant to! This one feels like it’s a bit more focused on what I’ve been up to than stationery, a little more vlog-like almost…I hope y’all enjoy. I plan to be back 2 Saturdays from today, keep your fingers crossed for me🤞🏽
Interested in a The Superior Labor zip organizer? (a review)

I LOVE TSL OKAY, this isn't a hate video this is a "I'm so disappointed in one of my favorite stationery-adjacent brands" video. It looks like I have to stick to their pouches and regular notebook covers for now, because this zip organizer is not it. If anyone has had a great experience with a TSL zip organizer, I want to know! Maybe it’s just this particular one that has issues.
stationery adventures in February (my birth month!)
Просмотров 7509 месяцев назад
The time between my uploads is getting shorter!! I would've preferred to upload this video on the last day of February, especially since it was a leap year...but even this new, more efficient editing style took me a few days longer than I expected! That's okay, most especially because I think this is my first video I'm really really proud of. I think it looks nice and the cuts are clean and the...

I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THE KINDNESS IN THE COMMENTS OF MY LAST VIDEO!! It really made me want to come back quickly with my next piece of content but alas...the video-editing process I've developed in these starting stages of my RUclips journey is very inefficient. I thought this video was straightforward enough to upload within a week; I never would've imagined that it would take over a month to f...

Hi! I'm the new journaling RUclipsr on the block. I spend so much time watching journaling content that I got the itch to make my own! It's like digital journaling! Very cool. I'm happy to be here after having been on the sidelines, watching you all for a little over a year. I hope you decide to stick around! I just ordered to totes. But yours looks exactly what I’m looking for! Great ideas. Thanks so much.
Hola new follower here loved the video do you have a ig?
Love this video!
Its good to have someone give a detailed experience of things used so ee don't get to fall down the rabbit hole 😊
I enjoyed your ideas. I hope you will keep making videos. I subscribed!!
Your nails are beautiful.

I think Galen products are course looking. I much prefer Levenger quality.

I don’t want fifty pens in a loose form. I can’t find what I’m looking for.
The slim version of A5 is a nice size.
I want your Midori bookmark. Where can I find one.
I like videos that are about an hour long. I can listen and concentrate on what you are saying.
Write nice things about “yourself” on your mini letters. That way you still have them to enjoy. After a year, you can reuse by reading them again. We all need to remember what are strengths are. To be sure not to get discouraged in those times when things aren’t going smoothly.
I like that you had a script/outline of what you wanted to say. I look that better than those who ramble.
Small pen cases that hold and protect a few of your most used and inked pens is really good. You never need to travel with 100 pens. IMO
Repurposing items also shows maturity. Just because it didn’t work for your original purpose doesn’t mean it can be useful for you in another way.
Your first step was the Best One. Writing down what you bought and how much you spent shoes maturity. Staying within your budget.
Travelers notebooks are great. I like the passport size best. Either size is a great place to start. However the best place for me to start is the passport size bullet journal. The best system for beginners IMO.

Excellent advice !! We can learn from what not to buy first. Stencils and stamping are great. I don’t buy stamps because I worry about the ink getting on something.
If youre gunna shell out "superior labor" kindda money for a leather cover get a Gillio instead, they really ARE all they're cracked up to be, theyve spoiled me for any other leather cover options 😂
Consumable, thats the word you wrre looking for. 😉 planner and stationary supplies are consumable items.
Great video
i'm a newbie too and was honestly so refreshed by your candidness and really found myself agreeing with a lot of your best/worst purchases placements! which was actually super reassuring, knowing that these things that are often so hyped in the stationery/journaling community don't work for everyone and everything lol. thanks so much for this video, it was super helpful!
Having your head not focused on the camera is distracting, it’s as if you are not focused on the audience. Info is great.
Check for stationery swaps that might be happening in your area. People take what they don't want to trade and find great things they do want.
I had to chuckle when you said you thought silver was so ugly because I feel the exact same way about gold trim. I think gold trim is gaudy, ugly and cheap.
It's foo-doo-noh-s'kay (like saying soo-kay a bit slurred)
Very thorough video. I really would have appreciated links. I know it’s a lot of hard work but I know that it has really paid off for creators who do that. Good luck.
As a viewer, it would have been preferable and easier to see the items - which were the real draw to this post - if you had focused the camera **only** on the items and just talked off-screen. Maybe focus on you only at the beginning and the very end as a wrap-up. Can’t see the items you’re talking about from “halfway across the room”.
I agree
This came at the right time because I'm literally taking inventory of my over spending after getting into stationery a year and a half now. Funny enough, my best and worst are the opposite from you in the beginning LOL. I love watercoloring and actually have a Koi set. I didn't end up using my hobonichi stencil, pochito stamps, or paintable stamps much at all.
LOVELY video! Newbie here, I related so much to the “beautiful things to look at” I’m the same way!
Love the vid. It's always so strange to me that people from other country need to learn cursive and get the feel for fountain pens. In my country, you start with cursive and in first grade once your handwriting is deemed "good enough" by the teacher, they give you your first fountain pen (which you're expected to write with all of primary school). It's kind of a rite of passage, graduating from pencil to fountain pen.
Mini-cards make excellent gift tags. Just write a sweet message, punch a hole at the top, and attach with ribbon or string (or even attach with washi). Lots of people that I know keep these little tags, and not just as ephemera for their own journals.
I just found your videos today and enjoyed them so much, I had to subscribe. I got 2 A6 HONs and a weeks mega. (Crescent moon delivery, liberty fabrics paysanne and the cherry bow & tie)
You could use the little mini cards as tip ins for your own journal.
Honestly I’m kind of embarrassed I didn’t think of this before…brilliant idea, such an easy solution!
Don’t worry, I’ve been journaling for 30 years and I’m still learning new things. 😄
WOW! what an Awesome video, so informative, fun, and well thought-out. Thank you for helpling another newbie navigate soooo many planner journey pitfalls & options. It felt like i had jumped off a cliff with no safety equipment. This gave me a life line, I dont feel so alone. Love the script, you voice is so soothing and your explanations are clear, include necessary details. very useful. Really enjoyed the video start, and dividing topics, then breaking into worst then best. Everything was perfect, sound lighting etc. I am so glad your video showed up on my feed. Thank you for all your hard work collecting a years worth of information together. Such a freat ideal to track our spending and consumerism. Really appreciate recycle and idea of reusing syringe and pen cartridges. 💞💡😜🌈🥳
I got the Herringbone Ivory and Black myself- I only plan on using an A6 grid notebook so that’s the only thing I grabbed. I usually use leather, but I really wanted something brighter this next year. Might consider selling a good chunk of my leather cover collection ngl, the browns aren’t hitting it for me anymore.
I adore your energy. Thank you for refocusing my head space in what I think I need. I am 4 years stationary obsessed and am finally figuring out my style.
So glad that your video popped up in my sidebar. This was such an interesting video about stationary. I have ALWAYS loved stationary, thanks to my mom and Sanrio products, but it gets REALLY expensive, This month I've found myself being over influenced and bought waaaay more than needed. Your realistic take on why you purchased something or how you ended up using it when the original purpose didn't work out, was so refreshing! Thank you so much for sharing.
Fantastic video, all the information packed here are worth at least 5 videos LOL. I appreciate the balance between the visual content and information provided, which is quite a difficult task, keep me engaged till the end.😊
What a great idea. I would be crying if I did the same
I would love to see a video about your morning pages!
many people in the hobonichi community turned me off of that system with how they give in to overconsumption. there's no reason to buy a cover and accessories EVERY release. Their behavior when the site crashed on release date these past 2 or so years is also off-putting. it took me like 7 years before i bought my first hobonichi techo. what i can say was my best purchase is my camel TN. i still love how it looks, but the biggest plud for me is i can easily make my own inserts using just papers of my choice, cardstock, and staples (I sew my watercolor paper inserts though). That aside, I really appreciate how you shared how you changed how you used your items and why. I tend to trust reviews more if the reviewer has legit used them for some time.
Just curious how much money do you have invested in your stationary hobby? Impressive collection and knowledge..wonder if you have thought about sharing possible lower cost resources?.. thank you!!
That was fun. Thanks for sharing
Omg the research for this video was EXPENSIVE!!! Thanks for a year's worth of intel. ❤
This is a fantastic video! I'm so glad you came back to finish it. 💜 I didn't expect to watch the entire thing but you had such great advice that I kept coming back after every interruption of my evening.
Great video. I like you had a script. Very prepared and so articulate!😊
