The RUclips page commemorates some of the milestones in the 50 years of musical life, and I’m not done yet! What a thrill to have played the Glazunov Concerto with the Cleveland Orchestra in 1973 while still a student. And yet it is chamber music that has been my calling, beginning with the Primavera String Quartet that went on to win the Naumburg Award in 1977 (www.youtube.com/@PrimaverQuartet). Chamber music has taken many forms over the years, including live music theater, recordings with the Atlantic Sinfonietta, and more than forty years with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Mentoring, and community collaborations, are included here as well on this celebratory page.

I recently wrote the following about the early years of Orpheus and my remembrances as one of the leaders:
"My process as a concertmaster is sometimes hard for others.That first run through when I’m leading can be SO IMPERFECT because it’s about other things. It's that initial WOW that I care about. In 1991 when we recorded La oración del torero we were, in my words .... of the people, free spirited, full of possibility. Very passionate, immature, dicey and difficult. Loving. Close. Intense. Evocative."
