I don’t know how NT can come up with the conclusion that Paul wrote this letter before going to Jerusalem in act chapter 15. Because in this letter Paul refers to the fight that he has with those who are trying to steal Christian liberty or our liberty in Christ. Not for one hour Would they let these people promote their doctrines of works. Paul does say that he met secretly with the pillars of the church Peter James and John who were in Jesus’s inner circle. I don’t see how he could come up with this conclusion that Paul had already written the letter to the Galatians before he went to Jerusalem and attended the meeting we read about an act chapter 15.

I think I will take issue with NT,s definition of a Judaizer. Later Paul writes about how he had to confront Peter with his hypocrisy and being intimidated by the party of James. Who were Jews and I assumed that these were the Judaizer Paul was referring to.

Galatians is my favorite book. Many years ago I memorized the whole book and could quote it by heart for nearly a year. But it became burdensome to try to repeat it so often so as to remember all of it that way. But it has profound influence my views on the Bible

As an ex-evangelical, I no longer have to harmonize the teaching of the Jerusalem church (“men from James”) with Paul’s radically anti-works version of Christianity. Wright’s take on Galatians fits the local situation, but not why the Jerusalem Christians would come all the way there in the first place, with a pragmatic solution (circumcision) to a problem which didn’t concern them as Jews. No, they WERE bringing “another Gospel” - another kind of salvation, requiring Christians to observe all that Jesus had taught them to DO to prepare for the coming of His new Kingdom. The traditional view of Galatians fits everything else Paul wrote to everyone, everywhere; namely, the absolute chasm between being justified by faith, versus justification by works.

13 January 2025 No value can be rightly set for THIS EXPLICATION and for N. T. WRIGHT's diligent jealousy FOR. THE. HOLY. SCRIPTURES. Like that other Thomas who has been so wrongly accused in Christendom, HE STAYS AT DUE DILIGENCE to every pronoun, article, case, voice, person, and antecedent! The Scripture of history is not a drive-through menu. Once laid on table, even spoon-fed, one🌹MUST🌹 CHEW🌹 FOR 🌹ONESELF!

This articulates his view on Galatians and the “New Perspective” so well. One key part of understanding scripture is knowing what questions are being asked and answered in the text, in context of the original audience. When we assume Paul is answering questions we are asking, rather than addressing issues in the letter’s context, we by definition are misunderstanding the text.

NT Wright has confirmed my direction to study this way. I somewhat came to this “naturally” and have been blessed that I wasn’t alone through him and David Pawson. The more I reflect at our modern Christian setup, it seems odd for reformed teachers to shout Sola Scriptura!! but constantly refer to outside sources of late reformers as if it was doctrine and even go as far as making denominations after man. Pure hypocrisy

2 Corinthians 5 New International Version Awaiting the New Body 5 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. Are you saying that Paul's thoughts here are "poisoned" with Platonism? I think we all understand that our work here on earth involves working with Christ in the process of sanctification and in mirroring or reflecting Christ in this world, but, what Christian does not long to stop seeing in a mirror dimly but to see Christ face to face. To know in full; as we have been fully known.?????

If not, what about those souls which are deemed worthy of something glorious; can they not intercede on our behalf? etc.

Asperger’s syndrome was rolled into the Autism Spectrum Disorder category in 2013. Autism is generally seen as a very wide spectrum, and not a linear one. I think the awareness of how Autism can present is ever-expanding, thankfully because of #actuallyautistic people who are enlightening us with their life stories.

What's this obsession in trying to interpret the Bible perfectly? Even if you could, where do you go from there? What is the ultimate objective? Does it lead to the kind of spiritual awakening so transformational that it can dramatically change the world for the better? Will it awaken the divine in all of us hence put to rest *once and for all* our suffering? Will it provide to leaders around the world the kind of wisdom that will put an end to wars, injustice, and the rape of the earth? If not, then to hell with all these interpretations!! It just becomes an end in itself i.e. another lame-ass interpretation that is reified as an absolute truth hence turned into a dehumanizing object of idolatry. Let's face it! You got nothing on God!! Why? Because when you say God is a deity, you are already fucked. Such a God is beyond all categories of thought. The human mind is incapable of conceiving it. All you have are beliefs, concepts, ideas, as to who YOU think God is. That's what we've been going for centuries- believing in endless interpretations of God. To hell with that!

No, don't think that he came for such a purpose; don't be so presumptuous; for the law is good, just and spiritual (as St. Paul says, yes, but also calling it "the strength of sin"), but Jesus' death, the death of the Son of God, God in the flesh, which is harder, more cosmically astounding than the disappearance of heaven and earth, does accomplish that very purpose: "Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity."
