Audio Note M3 RIAA being installed in a full Audio Note UK system.....
This week we went out to a long-term customer's home, to take him an Audio Note M3 RIAA for his Voyd reference turntable, on which we also recently installed an Audio Note Arm 3, IO1 Moving Coil cartridge, which sits beside the legendary Audio Note Jinro amplifier (equipped with their own Audio Note 4242e power valves!), all playing through a gorgeous pair of AN/E loudspeakers, sat on top of our own wooden loudspeaker stands.
This system sounds so realistic, and so musical that the hifi system almost faded away, and instead was replaced by the musicians themselves!! This track is the wonderful Robert Wyatt.....

Audiocounsel…How does the PSU3 compare with PSU4? Is it a noticeable difference?
Great question! The PSU3 upgrade to the PSU4 is actually a huge jump in performance. With it being "only" a PSU it's actually really surprising just how much effect it has on the overall performance. Well worth the money that particular upgrade!!
Missing a midrange

Lose the table the turntable is on. Center the sideboard between the speakers and place the turntable on it, next to the amp. Find a place elsewhere for the lamp.

What you mean by „installing a full AN system“?? Putting the amp on a sideboard and putting the turntable on an IKEA table? I think EVERYONE can do that. The placement is less than optimal as well. But who am I to tell that to a „competent“ Audio Note dealer… 😮

The best improvements aren't always the most expensive! We'd genuinely love to know what you thought about a few of the things we introduce to our customers during our installation process. Ha this is a great song ruined by a shit ton of distortion when it was recorded. A true test for a system in my opinion, on the wrong system it will make your ears bleed.

What you want to see in the kitchen? The loudspeakers sounded incredible in person! Dynamic, musical, and just.....REAL!

room is a bit drowning in certain low frequencies + something is missing from the midrange tone. i think the asymestrical carpet placement in front of the speakers makes problems with the floor reverbations. + the corner setup is only used for one speaker ? sounds like a strange concept.
It really wasn't lacking in any department. But I understand it can be hard or impossible to tell from a RUclips video. In person it sounded so lifelike and real! No room treatment was required whatsoever. The rug had little or no effect. Come have a listen for yourself sometime?
I have almost the same equipment, but instead of the turntable I have the CD two en the Dac3 balanced. when I place the speakers in the corner, they sounded of there was a blanket over the speaker? I placed the speakers 50 cm from the wall and for me they sounded so much better. but this is a personel taste. Try to experiment with it. greeting from Holland.

please make a real comparison on youtube. sometimes its easy to distinguish them if well recorded.
We find an in-person demo is really the best way to truly understand the differences. That said, we will be starting a proper series of videos from Audiocounsel soon, which will undoubtedly feature plenty of Audio Note systems.
Love that sound. Please tell me, how is listening on low volumes? Is it possible or you have to listen loud to get full potential? Thank you

What is your favorite AN set up ?
Audio Note makes best gears and cables in the industry, but the AN-e for me is inferior to their other gears. You should upgrade your speakers. Box colorations sounds horrible, as always... with AN-e unfortunately.
You need room treatment to unleash the full potential of your system.
AN/E has pretty bad box coloration sound. but other than that its a good system.

Hiya! The loudspeaker stands are in fact made by us (you can see more about them on our "online shop" section of our website). The actual hi-fi gear stand is designed and manufactured by a local artisan carpenter who goes by the name of Ikea.
Which cartridge is mounted on the Well Tempered?

if the monoblocks are SET, it shows how easy(and great sounding) it is to drive those speakers. I use Audio N speakers as a reference for my "audio experiments"

Dave's a lovely bloke who genuinely cares. He installed my system way back in 1986 in my little flat in Oldham. A Rega Planar 3, Mission Cyrus 1 amp and Monitor Audio 352 speakers with stands and Naim cable. I would occasionally pop into the shop, sometimes years apart and he'd always remember my name. Great to see you're still going strong Dave and helping people connect to their music in a way they never dreamed possible 😉
