Just a 14 year old boy striving to get better at fighting.
My first BJJ competition!!!
In this video I will be detailing the experience I had at my very first Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition. I will also be talking about how I competed how well I did and the techniques that I used as well as critiquing some of the stuff I did and how I could’ve done it better. I also discuss meeting MMA goat George St. Pierre, but only briefly and at the end.

Jack its Saturday - palm strikes are really more playful than anything else when we do it in that context in class. I am surprised you've never tried combat jiujitsu before? Its pretty fun though not as brutal as actual MMA. Is grappling your strongest skill set though or what do you think your biggest strength is at present? You must tend to use elbows and knees regularly on your bag but surely that makes them turn a bit red or raw if there's too much friction? That's what I dislike about using knees and elbows - the pads are always too touch. When was the most recent time you trained and rolled with friends? I am surprised you never recorded it? It'd make for good content though when your friend are over do you make them use bare feet or do they use socks or what? On BJJ - well why does one need a belt coach to be promoted? Anyone should be able to promote if one passes the necessary skill sets. Any down sides to bare foot training?
Palm strikes in my view are not meant to injure or knock one out - in fact its really more playful than anything else when we do it in that context in class. Jack its Monday check back ; I've heard of combat jiujitsu but why is it you don't do that? Makes sense to broaden the skill set and palm strikes really don't hurt that much. As of right now - what would you best skill set be, Jack? You seem well versed in most aspects of MMA at this point and I trust you train similar to this video off camera on a daily basis? You're lucky to have the bag and dummy though but again having your peers / friends over to rough house with would be a good thing wouldn't it? I mean its a big thing in ninth - at least with the boys here. What would you get promoted to in kickboxing compared to BJJ ? Also I train twice a week - which is ideal with everything else I do... why would you want to train any more than that? Most martial arts gyms limit one to twice or three times a week. How far is far?
A palm strike will knock you out just as easy as a punch, a great example is bas ruten during what I think was a pride event when punches were illegal and there were no gloves, he knocked out some guy I do train and roll at home with friends sometimes and bjj we don’t have a black belt coach so she can’t promote us and kickboxing I have to study different combos and I don’t really feel like it at the moment
Jack its Friday - Are we talking about face shots in boxing because if its boxing and in a class setting then I beelive face thoughts will be utilized then as part of practical self-defense. Besides BJJ doesn't permit face shots either but I believe in a variation of BJJ there's slaps permitted right? Is the BJJ tournament confirmed and how do you feel about the upcoming kickboxing tournament? Yeah I dislike a heavy gi as it just makes the wearer feel uncomfortable - the light material is better. I trust you will be getting promoted in rank in both kickboxing and BJJ soon? Why did you want to move to no gi if gi gave you the advantage?
And kickboxing Mize was an anime we were on the shots, not crazy hard but we still work on them, BJ there’s a style used strikes that’s called combat jujutsu the use palm strikes. We do not do that and it’s yeah you can’t really train for that you can kind of but not really, I think I may get promoted and kickboxing not BJ. I’m not amazing. I’m not terrible but yeah I don’t go to enough classes. It’s quite far away to train.

Nice armbar
Thanks man
Did the ref stop the match or did your opponent tap?
The opponent tapped, I try to never over extend and try to give them time to tap when doing joint submissions
Why did you lift your hips slowly to finish the armbar? Don’t you want to lift your hips as fast as possible to get the tap? How far do you lift your hips up?
I lift slowly, not to hurt them I do want a gap but I had plenty of time and therefore I value my opponents safety over winning as long as my hips move up, i should get a tap
Awesome brother.
👍
Keep grinding brother.
Thanks man

Can you do a jiu jitsu video?
What do you mean by that?
Can you do a tutorial video on submissions or a match?
Maybe my match when I complete and maybe just some basic technique but overall I’m honestly not the one to go to for bjj advice I’m largely just a striker but maybe I’ll try to make one. Thanks for the suggestion
I could also in about 10 days post a video of my bjj tournament, I’m not expecting much but that’ll be interesting
Nice and can you post a video on armbars and triangles?
Was here
I love your dog
Thanks lol
5:45 I like to do dynamic streches before a work out and stats stretching after. And I also like to do a dep squat stretch as well too
Ok thanks man
because your squat form isnt the best your bending and putting all the weight on your knees instead of your ass. When you go down with the weight think like your sitting on a chair you kinda want to ark your ass. Just look up proper form for squats. Keep Grinding!!
Ya I really need to work on that
Knee pain? Look up knees over toes guy Ben Patrick
Awesome man. I’ve been a Jiu Jitsu competitor for sometime now, and I don’t know your technique or game really, but just give it your all man. You have awesome heart and that transfers into any sport or martial art.
Thanks man my technique ain’t amazing but I’ll give it my all
respect this

hey, also a fighter myself (not pro at all, pretty new) it's super motivating to watch someone work hard like you are. Whatever anyone says, keep going mate Wish you well

Me too
For me knee pain is caused when i use loads I'm not ready for or I'm not warmed up for, you could try doing some mobility stretches before you squat but I'm no expert I wish you luck. Ps sick set up I love the cinder blocks and sticks
@@cursingivy thanks a lot man
Now that's some country ingenuity for getting your workout in. Love the stick that's strong enough to hold those cinderblocks. Great job and keep up the fight.

Atta boy
Thanks man
i suggest you to the spilt squats without weights and proper form because lack of proper form causes a loss and causes your knee to move inside which is an unnatural position and can cause you knee problems in the future, i hope the suggestion helps all the best and keep going
Thanks man ya I’ll go lighter or no weight next time cause I did real bad with that and my balance when it come to stuff like that ain’t very good
@@MMAJACK-vn3kd yeah bud all the best
@@PAVAN-zo2uu thanks man you too
keep going man , we are on same road :))
Thanks man good luck to ya
Also, hang the bag higher brother, you’re throwing at your shoulder high, rn lmao
If you’re gonna drop and swing your hands for counterweight while throwing a strike, back it up with reflex training and getting good at moving quick after a strike. Not just your head, but your leg after that front kick to the body, practice speeding up recovering the footing on that lead leg. Otherwise go at it more from a boxing approach and be mindful of your idle hand placement. Close the distance of your idle hand to your chin or cheek as to bate a wide shot. Like after you do reaching strikes such as the front kick, it’s high risk high reward, effective yet dangerous man. So bring down the chance you’ll get caught on the chin, just mindful positioning/ posture bro. Forms pretty good though, keep working on it man. Throw to be effective and precise, power will come, throw with result in mind and plan for multiple things.
Ok thanks man means alot
Looks good. Left kick needs work, but your punching is nice.
Thanks
nah i think your hair looks good and keep up the hard work

Thanks for the tip! Any exercises you recommend
@@MMAJACK-vn3kd swimming allow you to exercise and not force your spine , knees etc.boxing or mma is good only if are top 10 but damage is to big.
I do swim a bit but not much I’m pretty far from the city but I do swim at a lake near me
Dagestan work out

keep it up bro
@@kidMMA4000 thanks man
thanks bro🔥
Step outward wit ur kick
Thanks!!
You drop your guard and look down a lot in your punching, if your opponent catches on then to could end up with a nasty blow from the side. Work on not only your in and out movement and your up and down movement to, you need good flow in every direction to for good defense. Your distanced double kick is a good touch though, that could easily catch someone off guard.
What do you mean by up an down movement
@@MMAJACK-vn3kd crouching and ducking, what throws your opponent off the most is when there attack doesn't even land. The most important thing in martial arts is adapting your techniques to suit you and your own style.
Ok thank you for your advice I’ll try that tonight
HIT IT HARDER
Why would I do that I’m just going for technique less power focused
I was just wait in for it to fall out of place and u kick the wall😭
Ya I was pretty scared of that lol 😂
Wow, you must be really strong. That must be really hard to do. That's exactly what I do every single day going up 6 flights of stairs. I work for a tile company and I carry tile up the stairs all day long. Now try that with A 110 pound box of porcelain tile was 5 pieces to a box and carry them up 6 flights to stairs for the next 8 hours.Cause that's what I do
I can get a hundred pound stone to my shoulder but that must be difficult, but keep in mind I’m only 14 right now I do have a 71 lb stone that I do this with and I made a video but my dog knocked my phone over 😂
Eeew that's horrible music..!!!😢
Thanks for your input
thats actually so smart to make your own lifts!!
Thank you
Hey man, keep it up 👍 however drop the weight and focus on your form. You can get a herniated disk from improper form. Even a pound or kilo of weight on your spine in the wrong way can leave you with back pain or worse complications when you’re older.
Ok I don’t have many weights at this house I do have a 15lb curl bar and 10 as well as 20lb plates should I use that instead
Young King!! I’m proud to know someone as strong as you!
Thank you
Any advice for bjj training I see you do it
@@MMAJACK-vn3kd yes brother! BJJ is amazing and fun and great for self defence: make sure you stretch and continue to weight lift and respect your body. Don’t get injured like me. Stay flexible and stretch a lot and put muscle on your legs. Respect your body.
