Never Enough Strats
Добавлен 19 ноя 2022
A Strat is a Strat, isn’t it? Not really. Since ‘54 every Fender Stratocaster is different. Neck profile, pickups, weights, kind of woods used, fingerboard, finish, Custom Shop or reissue. Even if you have two Strats of the same year, the same type and the same setup, they will not sound and play the same. My advice, buy a used Strat. It will hold it’s value, so you will play for free! What is your perfect Stratocaster? My answer: Never enough Strats!
I’ll keep searching and playing! Buying, trading and selling the wonderful Fender Stratocaster. Only Fender Stratocasters, only American made, only used, mostly Custom Shop and special guitars. So check out what I have in stock. And drop me a message if you are interested or searching for something specific.

Fender Custom Shop ’50s Cunetto Relic Stratocaster 1997 Vintage Blonde
Not only has Vince Cunetto reliced this great Custom Shop Stratocaster, time and lots of playing has done its work creating a really great reliced Strat. Well what else can I say, this is a very sought after, collectable Fender Custom Shop Strat. Only four years of Cunetto Strats (1995-1999). In 1999 Fender started doing the nitrocellulose finish and the relicing at Fender itself. But Vince Cunetto never shared his relicing secrets with Fender! This is the 50s model with a birdseye maple neck. It comes in a Fender Tweed Tolex Case and it has a Certificate of Authenticity.
I'll tell you about the specs and you can check out how this guitar sounds through my 1973 Fender Champ with just a bit...

Legendary solo artist and Procol Harum guitarist Robin Trower helped define an era of guitar-riff rock with the first four notes of 1974’s “Bridge of Sighs.” Trower’s signature Stratocaster® guitar features custom pickups created by Trower and Fender master builder Todd Krause, with a reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup (including a humbucking option in the second and fourth positions)...

This nicely reliced ’55 Strat is a beauty. You can see and feel that this is al limited edition Custom Shop Strat. Look at the flamed maple neck and the detail in the relicing of the back of the neck. Color is very rare: Aged Honey Blonde. It has handwound Master Designed Bone Tone pickups. And special Fat50s Half-Blender wiring, so you can blend in the neck pickup with the bridge and bridge/mi...

How do Fender Custom Shop Bone Tone pickups compare to other pickups? That was the question of one of the visitors to my online shop. So I made this video to compage Bone Tone pickups in a '55 Custom Shop Strat to Fat50s, Tomatillo and 50s pickups. So I chose all 50s style Strats with a maple neck to do the shootout! The guitars featured in this video are: Fender Custom Shop ’55 LTD Relic Strat...

Tremolo's suck tone a lot, so not having it is a plus.
Thank you for sharing, this is a good reference. I really like Bone tone pick ups here, sounds full body.
Great to hear!!!
@@neverenoughstratsHave you tried Fender Custom Shop El Diablo Strat? I am convinced that it has similar characteristics of Bone Tone pick ups. It has that full single note voicing that when you strike a note ,the attack doesn’t splat into sharp articulation but instead responded with thick and weighty tone. Maybe you will like it. Another tele worth mentioning if you ever want to go for one, I would really love to recommend Fender Thinline Custom Shop CS 72 with wide range, it has a really good single note tone . The neck tone is very smooth round full body and gives you ear candy and I made sure to compare it with my CS Broadcaster with 50/51 black guard hw pick ups and and the notes from CS thinline were has this full sweet round tone, with great sense of articulation under the fingers. While on the other hand 50/51 hw broadcaster has more of a general sound even when compared with CS El Diablo, it doesn’t have that same response of thick articulation. Hope you try one of them some day.
@@It_is_now Thx for the info. Did not encounter an El Diablo yet. But already looking forward it!
Thank you for showing off The Strat! I've had mine since I was a college kid in the mid-80's. The candy apple red color had a huge orange peel problem. In places where the finish didn't go down smooth it looks bumpy like an orange. Then it flakes off exposing the metallic undercoat that then turns green. Still, they're great guitars.
Yes the do. But it is part of the charm!
Beautiful guitar. I've been looking for an 83 The Strat. My Birthyear. Is there much difference between the 80 and 82-83? I've read the later ones were "better". Thanks! If you've still got this one, let me know if you're willing to sell.
Hi, thx for your comments. This one is already sold. To me there is no big difference between the early The Strat and the 1983 ones. Biggest difference is that the 1980-81 ones have chrome tuners. I do have a 1981 The Strat in Candy Apple Red in my collection, which is for sale. Check out my website! Glenn
Jason smith more strat sound bold and Balsey. I think if I wanted more Twang brightness like the Galuszka I would get a telecaster.
Thx for your comment!
he is such a nice gentleman, I saw the capet beneath his feet, the same thing used to be done to persian carpet 70 (during 1950s) years ago by putting the carpet on the street so it would be stepped on , so it looks reliced.
VERY NICE. Olympic White Strats are BEAUTIFULLY offset by a Rosewood Board.
nice review
THX!
Pure shit looks.
Phenomenal sounding guitar 🎸
Thx!
I say give it a one of kind custom relic yourself by playin the hell of it.
can't hear ya...audio
Awful relicing job
Thanks for your comment.
Robin's Headstock is bigger than the average Strat. Robin said more wood better sustained.

Boring.
Thx for your comment. Did someone force you to watch. In that case please reply "YES" and I will inform the authorities!

@@CharlieMoney777 Thx for your advice.
@@neverenoughstrats don’t mention it, glad to be of help!
I've got a 1980 Strat with the silver tuners. Like your Anniversary model there, the Lake Placid Blue finish has greened over the years!
Really nice when that happens! Love the greened Lake Placid Blue.
Fretboards just don't wear like that. Unless you pick up your guitar to play only a d chord, dozens and dozens of times a day, over the course of 48 years
Well it is a remake of a '55. SO it is supposed to look like a 70 year old guitar... But if you don't like it, that is more than oké! (by the way it is already sold..)
Oh my God 😮😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤ wowza!!!!! Perfectly perfect!!!!! My man Glen how do you do it ? You're the houdini of guitars my brother! This bad boy still around? Thx
I'll be glad when people stop making videos about the finish on guitars. Buy what you like and stop caring what other people think of your choice. Good grief.
You could of course stop watching 😁 Or is someone forcing you...
@neverenoughstrats Nice reply. I did stop watching. Sorry I triggered you.

Does this Fender CS classic player have a HSS routing? Asking for a friend 😂
No it has SSS routing
Nobody uses chisels on a guitar, bro.
As a matter of speech...
Like your video and it’s a beautiful guitar. Sounds great. Is there any 60 cycle hum because I really don’t hear any?
Don't know Archie, guitar has been sold!
I tink joe ar from Nedderlends
dream guitar...
It's a beauty and still for sale!
Yes, it's a finish choice. Not everyone wants there home wrapped in new bricks. I remember when slightly burned bricks from the Chicago fire was all the rage. They intentionally started making charred bricks after that. It looked good. I'm like you, I can enjoy both. Nice strat collection! Good video on the history.
Oooof
Many thanks for the mention of my book "ANNIVERSARY STRAT: Celebrating 40 Years of the Fender Commemorative Model Stratocaster.' Well done for the video and sharing your Anniversary Models with the world.
Very welcome!
I have 2 early fender CS ordered through Yamano by the original owner. Theyre really good. The previous owner said he placed an order for the 52 reissue CS in 1987 and he received it after a year.
'52 reissue?
basically a slightly custom oval c-neck profile
Nice but please tune guitars before demoing
Thx for the tip!
Love all those strats!
Thx!
I just picked up a Japanese Strat from 85 yesterday. I am blown away with it and can’t put it down. That system 1 tremolo on them is a work of art!!
... and I also bought a 1985 MIJ "Blackie", just 5 days ago. I'm mostly an acoustic guitar player and had a couple of cheapy electric guitars that did not inspire me to play them. This Blackie plays and sounds great! If I wasn't working 12-hour days right now, I'd be playing the H out of it! Not totally sold on the "Contemporary" bridge and nut lock.... yet. Maybe I'll come around soon!?
Thanks for posting! I'm a strat guy who can't get enough of strats
I bought this anniversary strat in 1994, So basically I have invested my money in a crap piece of kit with 40 year old rubbish Fender needed rid of, with weak pickups I should have purchased a modern one?
That is superb, barely touched. I have an ‘82, bought 2008. ‘57 2TSB, Fullerton contours, grey bottom pickups. 2 previous owners, gigged & proper aged players grade. My main guitar, years of playing & never for sale.
Beautiful guitar🎉
Love relics because I always got upset when I dinged my new guitar.
You're not the first to tell me that!!!
im looking for a modern whit birdeye fretboard and gotoh trem lockingtuners. do you know if they will make this ?
Do you mean modern locking tuners or the vintage ones?
@@neverenoughstrats modern
@@BFHPET I suggest you look for a Fender Custom Shop Classic Player Strat like this one: reverb.com/en-nl/item/79786285-fender-custom-shop-custom-classic-player-v-neck-stratocaster
@@neverenoughstrats that is not for me
it's just another kind of finish.... Relic is just the branding name for weathering which is a time honored style of painting in the model and prop community used to make things look old...
I got an ultra in 97. I played the set neck in the store at the same time and since have had 3 custom set neck strats made but alder and got that US Custom Shop set neck Blackmore too which is ash. The 90’s were some good days for Fender esp the custom shop coming in to its own and while there was cost mgmt on them the plus/deluxe/ultras were good.
Cool video, subscribed.I had one of the gold 54s. I wasn’t crazy about it, urethane finish and it weighed around 8 lbs. I’ve had AVRI strats that were better than that particular guitar. The non-vintage based models like Classic Player and Custom Classic are great guitars and you can be had for reasonable money.
All in the eye of the beholder, i dont like new things, there hard to stay that way. I like brunnettes, Rod Steward prefers blonds!
so, basically it's all a question of personal taste in physical appearance, because they all pretty much sound the same, or all could be set up the same. For the most part, I buy & use guitars for comfort and sound, not looks. I want to set up my instruments so they help make my work as fluid & effortless as possible. I really don't spend time looking at how someone else tried to make them look older than they actually are
Hi, thx for your comment. Looks are a part of it. But its also feel. Al lot of player don't like the feel of a new neck. They prefer a neck with less or no lacquer on it. And some say they can hear the difference because the wood of the guitar can "breathe" when it is reliced. Another advantage is that there is never a fist scratch or ding. Cuz they are already there. Hope you liked the video!
@@neverenoughstrats so, if you don't like the feel of a new neck then just lightly sand it down. The wood of any guitar doesn't breathe, it's very dead. Those are all very silly reasons, and you don't make much sense
It’s what clients that purchase a relic tell me. You’re welcome ti think that it is silly.
@@neverenoughstrats that's my point. Clients that purchase relics do it for physical appearance. Has nothing to do with sound or playability
Its just about feel to me and appearance. Id buy a relic but not one that looks like its been beaten to hell. A mild to lighter relic is more realistic anyways. And thats only because its supposed to feel broken in. If it doesnt feel like that then just give me a new guitar.
You left out the bullet strats
My first electric guitar. But not a Strat!
