Which one is your favourite?

Tonewise, is it closer to the tone of a Les Paul or a Stratocaster?

I'm only 17, and I've always wanted to have his guitar and play like him. He is my guitar hero. My true inspiration.

What is with the thick necks?! I go to the guitar shop and all the fancy guitars have like these are really chunky necks; not only do I hate it, I feel bad for females who tend to have smaller hands... Also I keep harping on about why Fender went away from the 7 and a half inch radius?!? I've heard some bs "you can't bend with that radius,". I call hardcore BS on that because that's like saying Hendrix Blackmore Clapton the list goes on... That they couldn't bend notes because they were all using that original radius... It's a different kind of thing you don't move your fingers as much as more of a tapping motion when the neck is thinner.. but that's total horse crap and I feel like they cater to people with big hands and their prohibits a lot of players from really getting into it... I especially dislike Fender doing it because it goes against their history... Les Paul necks on strats and Telly's and it's ridiculous.. look at the players from the 60s- play Kendricks strat or Jimmy Page's tele=very thin and narrow necks that's how they're supposed to be... Dick neck guitars were considered kind of crappy or like old-fashioned among like what we consider classic players now

This is one of the nicest stratocasters in existence.

I dig relic if it is a tribute...srv, rory, blackie, springsteen tele, greeny...but other than that, to me it's stupid and pointless. First nobody never asked no one about the story behind their guitars. Second even if they would ask, what would you say?Lie about playing it for decades, in smoky bars(when smoking is out of bars for like 20 years almost), buckle wear from what when everybody wears shorts and training suits in their bedrooms, or say, ahh, it's brand new, looking like this,I got it yesterdsy? At the end of the day, it doesn't even matter, it's people's money, they can do what ever they want.

Not exactly a fan of the maple top on this strat, but that set neck is sooooo tastly done.

Tremolo's suck tone a lot, so not having it is a plus.

Thank you for showing off The Strat! I've had mine since I was a college kid in the mid-80's. The candy apple red color had a huge orange peel problem. In places where the finish didn't go down smooth it looks bumpy like an orange. Then it flakes off exposing the metallic undercoat that then turns green. Still, they're great guitars.

Beautiful guitar. I've been looking for an 83 The Strat. My Birthyear. Is there much difference between the 80 and 82-83? I've read the later ones were "better". Thanks! If you've still got this one, let me know if you're willing to sell.

Jason smith more strat sound bold and Balsey. I think if I wanted more Twang brightness like the Galuszka I would get a telecaster.

he is such a nice gentleman, I saw the capet beneath his feet, the same thing used to be done to persian carpet 70 (during 1950s) years ago by putting the carpet on the street so it would be stepped on , so it looks reliced.

VERY NICE. Olympic White Strats are BEAUTIFULLY offset by a Rosewood Board.

I've got a 1980 Strat with the silver tuners. Like your Anniversary model there, the Lake Placid Blue finish has greened over the years!

Fretboards just don't wear like that. Unless you pick up your guitar to play only a d chord, dozens and dozens of times a day, over the course of 48 years

Yes, it's a finish choice. Not everyone wants there home wrapped in new bricks. I remember when slightly burned bricks from the Chicago fire was all the rage. They intentionally started making charred bricks after that. It looked good. I'm like you, I can enjoy both. Nice strat collection! Good video on the history.

I have 2 early fender CS ordered through Yamano by the original owner. Theyre really good. The previous owner said he placed an order for the 52 reissue CS in 1987 and he received it after a year.

I bought this anniversary strat in 1994, So basically I have invested my money in a crap piece of kit with 40 year old rubbish Fender needed rid of, with weak pickups I should have purchased a modern one?

That is superb, barely touched. I have an ‘82, bought 2008. ‘57 2TSB, Fullerton contours, grey bottom pickups. 2 previous owners, gigged & proper aged players grade. My main guitar, years of playing & never for sale.
