Taking a 32 year old who is new to your church, hacking her, invading her privacy, and putting her on display to the entire church and nation, gossiping about her and giving her cold shoulders, and shaming her and destroying her life (all felony crimes and abuse of power and authority) seems to be just fine. Oh, and of course you're going to lie to me about it and to the police. Not to mention all the decisiveness you guys created and culture you created by doing this. Thank you for addressing this response.. I’ve heard this exact response from several people who are not a part of the ihopkc community but are Christian’s. This was my understanding too until things just got too confusing and I stopped following.. If they confess wouldn’t these pastors including Mike Bickle be registered as sexoffenders? They can confess to the church and be forgiven but they would probably have to go through the legal system.. it is humiliating to become a registered sexoffender..

What they experienced on a mass scale with Mike Bickle, giving a publicized word to preemptively set up the victims to be demonized by the public, is something that women commonly experience way too often in these charismatic churches and religious circles but on a smaller scale. However, it is far too common because this is the culture the patriarchy staged for us. Often, men in powerful positions will start setting up a narrative through whispers in the church, that a certain woman is a Jezebel or has a spirit of offense or a bad spirit in some way, or they might minimize, or belittle her, or even infantilize her in someway saying “we just need to pray for her because she’s a mess” or whatever the spin is; this usually happens when he is concerned that she is going to expose or embarrass him is some way when she starts asking too many questions or trying to address too many problematic behaviors within the church. I’ve seen it happen countless times. It’s one of the main reasons I left the church all together because I just couldn’t take the pattern anymore of how it was a man’s world basically and their narrative always won in the end and nobody really got to hear the cries of, the countless woman who have had to hold all the burden of the sins of man. Think about it: so many women before the one who blew the whistle on Mike were holding this secret shame for Mike all these years. There’s thousands of us who have been holding the sins of our fathers for way too long and anytime we try to express any grief over what we experience, we were labeled, maligned, and the narrative spun in a way that demonized us and caused our communities to shun us. Of course the trust is gone. When you minimize the voices of the weak and the lowly, and those in less powerful positions than you, then you have lost your way indeed and any deserving title worthy of leadership.

As one who at one time was a proponent to those within the reaches of what is called NAR, it is profound to hear and see what fruit is coming from this tree. The tragedy of what these women endured throughout those years is reprehensible and yet to rightfully question the actions and conduct of those involved in this abuse; where is the reflection by those sitting in the pews and all those years listened to those who allegedly spoke for God through their "prophecies" (Jeremiah 14:14-15). Is there no reflection on the part of those sitting in the pews all those years, for listening to lies and false prophecies? Yet they will continue to believe those who stand before them behind the lecturn and will allow the blind to lead the blind and ignore the actions of those who critiqued in the New Testament Paul on the very things he proclaimed about the gospel, those in NAR will lean on a lame statement of "do not touch God's anointed" and with that statement they prove very clearly their ignorance of what was written in 2 Chroniciles 16:22 concerning the nation of Israel and God's prophets. I do not place any of those who say they are prophets as prophets and the admonishment given in Acts 17:10-11 is one those in the grips of NAR need to exercise and seek the real God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and not the false god of false prophecies, prosperity hucksters and healings that are not from God.
