Really beautiful 👍 It’s a nice countryside village. Would have been a nice experience to visit, though it’s quite a travel from abroad. Going to Budapest is doable, going into the countryside is quite a bit deeper adventure 😛 Nice to be able to read along with the English subtitles, thanks for that. Will be at the 1 dec 2024 concert in Budapest again 😎

This work is irresistible. The first movement surges forward, the second movement is more contemplative, but the total effect is one of joy and gaiety which surprises people who have been given to understand that Bach is inaccessible for all who are not 'highbrow'. This work deserves to be known more widely to correct that impression. It is altogther a delight.

...I was finally able to visit the Thomaskirche in June of 1994 on my return trip to Berlin with my late brother, Tim, who had been living there with his girlfriend since 1987...previously I hadn't been able to travel to the East because of my job in the Army...thought I'd NEVER get to see Bach's chruch and tomb - until the Berlin Wall fall fell on the night of my 40th birthday in 1989
