Just wondering James, are you related to one of the bandsmen and how did you come across this recording? Thank you for putting it together with all the memorabilia and photos from the day. We played it for dad, John Wesson, on Saturday 23rd October for his 90th Birthday. We all shed a few tears and Dad was blown away by the memories.

Superb. Gilbert Vinter himself, who was adjudicating, said he never expected it to be played better. I have loved the piece for 40 years and I have never heard it done better - even by GUS on their LP recording. This one is so well-shaped and such contrasts of tone, shade and dynamics. What band!
