WHO was in charge of the final cutscene edit? The original cut was perfect. After he says "finishing this fight" in the original, the ending credits music starts immediately. In this one there's this dead awkward pause. Totally kills the energy that the original edit has. Who made THAT decision to "fix" what wasnt broken. Yikes.

I think that was the mistake ancient humans did. Because they never introduced themselves properly to the forerunners, they were misunderstood as imperialists.

Every halo game has featured the exploration of a forerunner installation. But I would absolutely die for a single game based on exploring an Ancient Human planet or ship or installation, learning more about them, and reclaiming our true heritage.

If you really look at it all the problems we have is all the forerunners fault. If they never committed genocide against the precursors the flood would have never happened.

I just finished the game for the first time (I know, exactly 20 years late to the party) and I came here because I thought the game broke or got corrupted somehow... I legit thought there was more game after this 😂

Does this cutscene make sense at all? I've never really thought about it. But like... did Chief not only outrun a glassing beam (was it not a glassing beam?) but also survive the beam that was initially being fired directly into the water by jumping into the water? He should be dead, right? I never really thought about this scene beyond it being cool. Even in anniversary, I was just like, man, that's beautiful. I guess that's Chief luck for you.

Are communications super slow in this time where all forms of technology had reached their peak? Mjolnir armor was akin to a "Class 2" combat skin according to Guilty Spark, which was VERY primitive compared to the technology the species of this era had. That's only an example, but that really puts it into perspective. With all that super advanced technology well beyond anything Humanity could create, you're telling me these ancient humans couldn't communicate with another faction fast enough and tell them "Hey, there's flood on your planet and we're working toward the same end to stop the flood. Sorry, but we'll have to glass it." THAT would've stopped a completely meaningless story about some war between forerunners and humans. It was so simple, yet for some reason, the writers REALLY wanted this to happen, so they decided to do the dumbest, most easily preventable misunderstanding. And you're telling me the Forerunners, who were willing to kill trillions in the galaxy with their array in order to starve the flood, the greatest threat to ever exist that was almost completely unstoppable, thought that the humans were going too far when they glassed a single planet in order to stop the flood from spreading? Despite all the advanced technology and vast knowledge of the known universe, and all the weird prophecies and very true predictions, these humans and forerunners are pretty stupid. It's almost like there was never meant to be any war between forerunners and humans, and only ONE dominant, technologically advanced species was present at this time in the universe...

Man, the Lord Of Admirals was put in an impossible position. With the knowledge from prior confrontations with the Flood, he knows how fast it spreads. Every second counts. That head drop signifies so much. He calculates the risk, knowing that his choice will result in billions dying yet chooses to cleanse it anyway. No wonder the Ancient Humans were supposed to take on the Mantle of Responsibility.

If only the live action series were like this
