A pocketful of light. (Petzval + Aivascope)

kenny_ip My love letter to Hong Kong. Made in Autumn 2022, during my travel to the city when it first opened up for visitors again, after a rather lengthy strict covid lockdown. Shot with a mixture of vintage Pentax Takumar Aivascope 1.5x anamorphic adapter, and lomography petzval lens. #aivascope #anamorphic #lomography #petzval #travel #hongkong #colorgrading
Still Life - Vertical Anamorphic (Aivascope + Zeiss Biotar)

kenny_ip A delicate portrait of Sussex based painter/designer Sophia Gray (sophiagraydesigns.co.uk). Shot with a custom inverted / vertical anamorphic setup - Aivascope 1.5x (Inverted) paired with a vintage 1940s Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm (17 blades!) and a Soviet 1950s Jupiter-9 85mm. The delivery aspect ratio is somewhat unusual in 1.25:1 - so to have minimal crop from origin...
how you shoot on vertical ?
This is absolutely gorgeous! Would love to see more shot with this setup. Are you able to share which shots were filmed with which lenses? Is 1:01 shot with the Jupiter-9 85mm? And 00:08 is the Zeiss 58? And the Aivascope is an adapter that converts both the Zeiss 58mm and the Jupiter-9 85mm into anamorphic, right?
How did you shoot an anamorphic adapter vertically?
beautiful, what is the camera?
beautiful view of life
This is incredible! time to sell my kidney for an Aivascope and then immediately realize that I still cant get close to this and now i'm down a kidney and my wife left me.
That bokeh is wild!
beautiful 🌺
How do you monitor this?
This is awesome but Im so confused. Is the Aivascope 1.5x Anamorphic (Inverted) a lens or an adapter? To the creator of this I emailed you as well x
Mentions everything but the camera 🤦♂
Very beautiful work!
Thanks very much!
Such a dreamy vid, great format, location and talent :) Looking forward to seeing more clips
Thanks very much Dan! Appreciate the kind words :)
amazing work! also what does it mean when you say your lens is inverted or custom anamorphic? how do you achieve that if you have an anamorphic lens?
Thanks very much! It's a custom anamorphic setup in a sense that it's combination of an anamorphic adapter and a spherical lens. By inverted it means the anamorphic adapter is then rotated 90 degrees so it stretch the image vertically rather than the traditional horizontal way.
@@kennyektar Ahh thank you for the reply! So the anamorphic adapter - is it easy to rotate it 90 degrees? did you open it up and move it around!
@@cinerat No probs! Yes, there's a control in most anamorphic adapter where you can unlock and rotate/align the element
What camera?
A7Siii
Your composition is really beautiful!
Thanks very much!
You have amazing videos.❤🎉 What kind of camera do you use?
Thanks! I use the A7Siii
Beautiful stuff
Thanks very much!
This is beautiful, did you rotate the lens or you also flipped the camera and shot it vertically with vertical stretch
Thanks! I just rotated the anamorphic adapter 90 degrees. Everything else is the normal orientation
Nice work! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much!

Lovely composition, exquisite color grading, telling a little story of relaxation and enjoyment, what's not to love about this! But this is genuinely well crafted, much like the other pieces by you. Good use of creativity and tools that are at your disposal. Hope you're having a great day
Thank you so much for the kind words! I certainly do not deserve all the wonderful compliments, but I wholeheartedly appreciate them. Wishing you a great day too!

How to you monitor when your filming
I used a Freeworld Lut6s which kind of works but the de-squeeze value is not exact. I believe all the newer SmallHD ones have the vertical de-squeeze function
Really beautiful work. How did you not have extreme vignetting on the 15mm?
This is sooooo beautiful 🕊️
Thanks very much!
