And this is what you call a " Quick connect " !! ??
Perhaps you were looking for a video about simple setup of FB36 with Rockwell? A 6 minute video video more suitable for this can be found at this link-> ruclips.net/video/BzgT0G6AJb4/видео.html. The "QuickConnect" (Prioritized start-up) technology feature refers to a method of establishing a connection between devices and the Master in a rapid and efficient manner (example: robot end of arm tooling). This is a ODVA EtherNet/IP specification where a device shall have this feature disabled as the factory default. Due to the requirements and effort of the ODVA spec to configure a device for "QuickConnect" I created this video and the sample code to compliment it. Once you have viewed and understand the concept and requirements to configure the FB36 for QuickConnect in video, the sample code can be used to accelerate the user efforts. I think it would take approximately 5 minutes to configure a device for QuickConnect with the sample code provided. If a user had good understanding of the configration requirements from ODVA spec, they could use software like Molex instead of Rockwell and likely setup a device in even less time.
Dear Sir, For this Controller, how to change Operating mode, can you help me.
Sorry for soo late a reply. The operational mode is changed via the digital inputs. You can find this in the user manual or contact local technical support staff at Festo.
How similar is this to BNI004F to setup?
No idea - I did this video long ago and I have never used a BNI004F
I can’t seem to get my set up to work. Once I add it to my plc, I keep getting an IO FAULTED message with an error 16#0203 because the communication times out and idk why. 😭
Unusual because this is normnally very straight forward. Hard to troubleshoot on YoutTube and I dont provide support here. Rockwell has bug with EDS AOP on old RS5000 versions, so, I can suggest goto webpage & confirm IO size, delete existing EDS AOP, Add again, select fixed size with hard set IO - do NOT chnage this config after accepted and closed (this is the Rockwell bug). If that doesn't work, try generic module and same method use correct instances -> I think from my memory 101,100,102 with exact IO size. If nothing works, contact Festo technical local support
Do you havee domething to fo with mean brewing?
I don't understand what you are talking about?
could you explain the messaging more? I am using the same IO Link master module, but I am using the SM6601 ifm flow meter. I have tried doing a message to see actual flow rate but have been unsuccessful.
This video is about the Festo VPPM - not IFM. Messaging of IO-link master will be different for every device especially vendor specific parameters. I suggest you Read the owner manual of the IFM and also the 8IOL to find answers.
Hello Steve Thanks for the youtube courses I have a big problem with downloading the project, i have 2 axis in program, X and Y in my hardware, but when I try to download the program the error message X AXIS DOES NOT EXIST. Comes up and I can download the project What should I do in this situation?
Hmm. SPC200 was phased out I think in 2015, so, I would look at why you are still using this - you could get yourself into a situation where you cannot even find any old parts lying around. To you problem - I am not technical support for the product, but, considering it is NOT supported any more, I suppose this is why you try me in the 1st place. The error is not mentioned in the user manuals, but if it says the axis doesn't exist and you have physical hardware, then you have a problem with the hardware and it thinks it really doesn't exist. A good way to determine hardware configuration of ACTUAL controller is to start with empty project, then Select the menu item “Upload” then “Project”. Select a Project path and give it a title name if desired, then save the project to you hard drive. When the upload is complete, the project will be open and you can see what the controller sees as its configuration. This is all I can do for you.
Another point from my side - If the SPC200 hardware for 2 axes exists, BUT, the connected axis cylinder (e.g. DGPIL) has an issue or is NOT connected, then I would also expect the same error you have encountered. Good luck

Hi Steven, I am doing a project with 100 EMCA motors. The way we have it set up is to upload every single parameter from every single motor and save it in the plc. When a motor is replaced the ip address is set and all the parameters are downloaded from the plc. Is there a way to store only the values that are changed from factory in the PLC? I am running out of capacity in my controller trying to store all this data.
Thats i nice size project! I can imagine running out of memory quick. This is an older project so little hard to remember if possible right now, but, there should be a AOI called single param or similar. With this you can read or write single parameters. I think there is also an AOI in the library called multi param or similarly. Here u can set up an array of all parameters you need to a limit. This forum not best for this request though- hope i give u some ideas. You should contact your local support and mention what I offer and if you don’t get anywhere, Ask them to escalate.
When you download the library there will be user manual which explains all the AOIs in it. There should even be examples if i recall
Did that help?
The AOIs I referred to previously are called: FPC_MULTI.L5X and FPC_PNU.L5X
I added navigation to the RUclips video for you - when you SHOW MORE, you can click on the link for (32:08) and navigate direct to the section that details the AOI
Found this in 2023. Still applies. Thanks! Very informative. Now to just figure out the STO part.
The Festo website has a good source for STO with EMCA in the downloads area. STO is basically the same for EMCA as it is for CMMT-ST. In the expert area, a download of www.festo.com/net/en-ca_ca/SupportPortal/Downloads/598918/653211/100244-TS-Application-Note-EN-Ver1.pdf and also www.festo.com/net/en-ca_ca/SupportPortal/Downloads/598917/653209/100242-TS-Application-Note-EN-Ver1.pdf can be downloaded. In the Documents area, brief instructions for Safety can also be found
I always prefer SS1-t - this is much better safety coverage

Hello Steven, you showed emca in linear network, how about a ring network. What'r the settings for ring network?
Sasti Kumar Hello, I have not shown a ring network because to configure any DLR network is just a checkbox on supervisor and very simple. So, in general, you physically connect entire ring and leave 1 cable disconnected. Next, in supervisor on network tab, check “enable supervisor”. Next, physically connect cable that you left off. Next, in supervisor, click button to clear ring faults. Ya dah!You now have a working DLR network. Enjoy!

Your Google translation to English: They will have a channel to see more about this type of programming to see how to handle these FAS blocks through a CDPX HMI to interact with the operator. and see where the tags are stored to program..... My Response: perhaps the translation is not accurate and you are asking a question? Are you asking if I will do another video to show the CDPX interaction with the Festo_PtP_Base Library Function blocks? If this is your question - I am not planning this and am far too busy traveling for work and pleasure at the moment. Regardless, the CDPX is separate software from CoDeSys and the visu libraries included with this Festo_PtP_Base Library are specifically created for CoDeSys. Hello, I wonder if it is possible to connect a PLC S7 1212 (tia portal v13) and Festo FB36 via modbus with block 16DInputs and 8DOutputs
Hello, I don’t normally answer questions on my RUclips because it is all my personal time, BUT, to me it would make more sense to use a ProfiNet node FB37 as this is the native Siemens protocol. Why are u thinking about modbus which is easily inferior. Did you buy fb36 by accident? If you had to use the Fb36, it is capable of ModbusTCP and I know the TiA portal offers some mod us FBs, I just haven’t done this myself because it’s not something that would be very common and therefore not worth my time investment.
@@Proud2BProud why u put then video's on youtube if you are not ready to share your knowlegde??
@@morrocantocador The video is sharing my knowledge on the topic I have explained within it. The FB36 is capable of ModbusTCP, so if your V13 TIA is, then it would be possible, but, I would recommend using a CPX-FB33 ProfiNet as the head module instead of the FB36 and this way you have real-time communication.
Hello Mr proud I know you normally don't answer questions so I will try to ask a yes or no question. The 4 io-link master ports on the cecc-lk are not enough for my application so my question is wether I can connect an io-link hub (for example from balluf ) to the cecc-lk to control more than 4 io- link devices. Thank you have a nice day.
The CECC-LK has a CANopen Master. So, I would say it should be very possible to add a CANopen-IO-Link Master from another mfg to do what you are asking
Thank you for the quick answer! that would be possible of course.

As Steve mentioned in 16:13, since he swapped controllers for whatever reason, his old license resided in the old controller, so now that he bought a new one controller he can get the license from a Festo representative but an easier way would be to purchase the controller with the license pre-installed. Controller with basic license CECC-X-M1-YS-L1 8082793 www.festo.com/net/en-us_us/SupportPortal/default.aspx?q=8082793 Controller with advanced license CECC-X-M1-YS-L2 8082794 www.festo.com/net/en-us_us/SupportPortal/default.aspx?q=8082794
I am looking for help
Keep looking - watch the video - download the sample code - you can do it - I have faith in you.
thanks for the video but can you explain how to get the correct address
Hello Jerome, I don't normally converse on my channel because I hardly have the time to create the videos and so don't expect to support them. In your case, I do NOT understand your question. The address for the raw process data is %IW1, which is found when you double click the sensor on channel 0 of the IO-Link master. Further, you click the IO-Link I/O mapping tab and expand the PDV(InA). If you look in the GVL, you will also find I mapped the %IW1 to a tag.
How do you get those tables in the comments so well set up? Those record/direct -operation tables look so great. Did you made those yourself?
Nothing magic - i just typed them in.
Starting from left to right and using tabs where needed
