nostalgia aside, i dont get why everyone prefer SNES/PS1/PSP graphics since they way too blurry and filtered. Pixel Remaster is literally pixel perfect image with zero filters.

FF6 sprites on the remasters are just way to bright cheery for my tastes FF6's theme was dark and gritty and the artist completely missed the mark......also they didn't redo the pixel art for the monsters so the redone hero sprites stick out like a sore thumb in battle Less is most certainly more.....

my problem with it is that you can't see the character clearly still could of smoothed out the pixels get rid of the boxy characters

I've just recently played through FF4-FF6 in their remastered form, and all in all, I'm really pleased with the higher fidelity pixel art. That said, they definitely made FF6 needlessly more vibrant, but this was luckily fixed rather easily by a mod.

People need to grow the hell up. If they don't like the sprits then play the original or the gba. Not ever version has to be what people want. Freaking children man.

wow, very cute. i made much smaller sprites for my characters to match the size of those used in a game making tutorial i was following, but it didnt look so great, so i think ill make them bigger because of this video and use your tips. thanks for the video

yes, it's bad.. stick to SNES version with the translation patch (cured of Ted Woolsey syndrome ie pearl now = holy and son of a submariner is replaced with SOB). there was a patch for pixel remaster, but it doesn't fix much in terms of detail to the sprites. terra still has a unileg.

I don't think people do. I love the look of ffvi remastered, I don't think making what's meant to be a very ambitious and flashy game look "gritty" or "dark" really does it justice. ffvi is not a "dark" game, it is a game where you have to save one of your party members from being squashed by a purple octopus during her opera number. It has tonally dark moments, but also very lighthearted ones. It's theatrical and ostentatious and the presentation of the remaster doesn't take away from that, it adds to it.

I don’t hate the sprites. In fact, I think they are a nice improvement. However, going from the old steam version just feels like a massive downgrade. I want them to put the old ver backgrounds and sprites into the game as a toggle option. That way all the basement neckbeards can have their shitty Atari sprites and the rest of us can truly enjoy an actual “remaster”

Most users have already experienced HD2D, and their expectations are high. If there is a plan to try again FF6 in HD2D, it seems to be a compromise to launch FF7 in HD2D again. I hope

I was playing around with some of the pixel art from the other FFPR games a while back, and holy crap do the new pixel artists LOVE color gradients, particularly with blues and grays.

they should have redid all the character sprites and made them look at least as good as FFIV for PSP sprites.

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but a colorblind person made better sprites than the people making the game for their job lmao.

Back in the Snes days... The artists who made the graphics for Seiken Densetsu 3, Rudra no Hihou, Final Fantasy 6 made some of the best art ever on the console. You drewled at the graphics back then. Even today I can look at some of the art from the old games and be impressed. Regarding the remaster; All enemy sprites are intact with their original look, but the character sprites with these new colours and pillowshading really don't fit with the rest of the game's art and palette. Backgrounds, spell effects and environment effects really add to the game. I hope someone patches the game on PC to restore the character sprites to the SNES counterpart. I already heard you can change the squished font for the game :)

Glad to see more people talking shit about the art style in the pixel remaster. They look horrible. Yea it’s looked better than the iOS port but that’s not too difficult seeing as how the iOS remaster looks like some deviant art fan fiction garbage. They could have easily copied the art style from the SNES or even GBA versions. I’ll happily stick with playing the original on an SNES emulator. Playing it in Retroarch on an HD TV looks fantastic.

the color tone or hue on the FF 6 Pixel remaster are too light, making the sprites look a bit too "bright" and loosing the nice dark "shading" of the original sprites. Terra's hair looks pastel melon green colored and it should be a jade/emerald green.. just one of the many examples...

I have absolutely NO problem with the sprites in these remasters. I think they're bolder and I like the use of simple colors they have.
