    The company seems super scammy because it doesn't offer prices on its website and instead requires you to request a quote. Reputable companies don't do this on standard production products

    • @scottssolutions3849

      I am not sure why you think that super sketchy. Why does a company that gives there prices on there website will make them reputable. I would say the opposite. Solar Wholesale does a custom DIY kit for your place. Every house is different so there is know way to put a price on there website. For example signature solar just gives you the main equipment. No rails, electrical boxes, breakers, plans, and many other stuff.

    You said two sets of wires. I see those. One set has 1/4" Faston connectors and one set has 3/8" Faston connectors. You did not say which pair you were shorting. It looks like you shorted the 1/4" Faston pair, but not knowing the circuit I would like to be sure before I start shorting wires!

    How do you deter copper thieves, do you zip-tie the panels everywhere? I also have a rural house and I'm afraid they will cut the cables like they cut the Tesla charging cords in California.

    Did you calculate the uplift forces? There's some PDF from some agency in USA with a highschool level math formula to calculate the weight of the ballast (concrete) so the wind can't pull the panels out of the ground. The corners of the array are also very vulnerable to winds and when a storm passes it's usually those tiles that fly away.

    I heard it's not a good idea to pull on the panels from the top because it damages them.

    I’m assuming that the Micro inverter replaces the inverter you install normally right near your charge controller and your battery storage system right? How many watts can this micro inverter convert into AC to the battery? I was thinking on getting a 12k Growatt inverter. Would this micro inverter be able to match a 12k Growatt ability to convert a 9.5 to 10k charge input to a battery?

    • @SetTheCurve
      @SetTheCurve Год назад

      I could be wrong, but using a micro inverter sounds counter productive if you are charging a battery. Batteries are DC, and so are solar panels. The micro inverters will spit out AC at some level of efficiency (say 95%? Check spec) then it would need to go through another inverter to be made back into DC to charge the battery. I think micro inverters are mainly for grid tie setups without energy storage.

    • @surfguy777
      @surfguy777 10 месяцев назад

      @@SetTheCurveexactly, and micro inverters for problem shading areas. Otherwise, much more efficient and cheaper to go with string inverter near battery. Lastly, if any malfunctions, micro inverters much harder to work on..removing panels and troubleshooting multiple inverters.
