Super underrated, they’re the only 3000+nit monitors the T7 and G7, under $1000😅
Yeah I know, it is insane! As long as you learn the menu :)
Awesome Video, Thanks Man! Newb question- My Nikon Z30's LCD is to small for me to see when simply shooting stills (I don't shoot video). Would this device help, or is it only for video?
Hi, thanks for the comment:) If you have an hdmi out port you could for sure use this to get a bigger monitor :)
I'm not a colorist, just a calibration hobbyist, but those pre calibration measurements appear to have been taken with the display in calibrate mode. Therefore, the display is in its native gamut tracking ~2.2 gamma which is why the pre cal measurements are so off. As for the postcal measurements, 10 pt grayscale and 6 pt color at 100% saturation really does not give an indication as to how accurate a display is. A sequence of at least 1000 pts would be a better indication. I've been able to achieve ~0.2 to 0.3 average de2000 across 1000 points, with no point measuring over 1.0 de2000 for SDR 3D LUT verifications on my LG displays using an alternative software.
Hi David! Thx for the comment, I appreciate it and I follow your reasoning. In terms of measurement points, I don’t personally think it is necessary with a 1000 measuring points to get an accurate monitor, of course by your delta, it is insanely good, but then, time trade off for that improvement? But I 100% agree with you interns of the 10 vs more points What software and what colorimeter or probe did you use? :) curious!
@@AlexReinholdsson Thanks for replying. Total time for performing a 3D LUT calibration on an SDR picture mode is ~2 and a half hours from the the beginning of profiling the display (which is a ~2800 patch sequence) to finishing the verification sequence (1000 points). But, you are right that it took a lot of time and experimenting to create the right customized patch set to use for profiling to achieve optimum results. I use Light Illusion's ColourSpace CMS, a MYIRO-1 budget spectrophotometer, an i1D3 OEM colorimeter, and PGenerator as a test pattern generator.
Of course I answer man:) Welk 2,5 is not to bad actually, but for what i was demonstrating in terms of this video to get the tv into a fully good state for the most videographers etc I think most people would be terrified for getting into calibration🤣
Great presentation. These lenses are fantastic with great character. They're perfect for gimbal use as well. I actually prefer them over the DZO Arles primes in both image quality and weight.
Hi! Thanks for the comment. Yeah I really like them as well, size wise they are perfect and I rally love the feel in them. The Arles and the Vespids are. Ice as well but for me being in love with vintage it’s a match made in heaven 👀🤩👌
Hi Alex. Is it possible to have my monitor calibrated by you or by a company in NL?
Yes for sure! You can contact me to come out and do it! I travel all over the Netherlands. alex@reinholdssons.com
App price 200$ ??
The calman home for lg is about 150, yeah. That’s also extremely accurate. If you work in video you will really wanna be sure that what you are watching is correct 🙏🏼
@@AlexReinholdsson The price has risen to $200
@@waelkhalil2313 Ah fair enough, still worth it every day of the week.. they also lowered the price permanently on studio version to 1199$ which is great!
will this work on osmo action 4?
Does the osmo have a 3,5mm jack?
If I want to start with color grading what would be a good monitor to start with?
I’d say it depends on what you wanna use it for, as a client monitor or a reference monitor and also size. But you could get a smaller LG oled, like the c2,c3 which is quite accurate 🙏🏼
can you control the iris and aperature from the monitor?
Thanks for the comment, no you can’t have any camera control with this monitor :)
Well this looks like an amazing tool to have!
Oh it truly is fun to use, yeah 🙏🏼
Thanks for the review, what about UVC and livestreaming can that work ?
Well, the nano should be able to livestream, so it should work if I’m not mistaken 🤔
thanks man! that helped a lot :))
Cool man, appreciate the comment! Happy to help 🙏🏼
Where is it? Can’t find on google
procolor.ist/contour-official/ There, all the way down the bottom :)
thanks for sharing this tip! I bought a pyxis this week and never used SDI before, can you tell me what SDI cable should I buy??
I would buy a cable from an established brand in terms of the cinema world. Like shape, wooden camera, arri etc. Rather spend an extra dollar or two on quality that will last long. And if you find one that is shielded, that’s even better in terms of safety :)
@@AlexReinholdsson thanks for the answer, makes sense to get a high quality cable!
Yeah, 100%. Not everyone thinks like that unfortunately and cheap out on cables etc :p
Thank you very much, Alex!
Thank you for watching 🙏🏼
Hi, how about your performance in noisy places like concerts, can you hear well?
Hi, to be honest I did not test it in that environment and I didn’t play loud music. It has noise cancellation in the mic and the fit on the ear is super snug, so I think it would be possible, but I’d probably want something covering both ears if that was possible :)
@AlexReinholdsson Of course, dual-ear may possibly be necessary for live concerts, I'm just seeing the Synco Xtalk XMax are dual-ear.
@ ah fair! That would probably work. But did not test them in that kind of environment:)
Amigo, o BoyaMic é compatível com a gopro 11?
Hi, yes if you buy the GoPro 3,5mm mic adapter:)
can this be used to livestream to facebook or youtube?
Yeah you can stream via rtmp via their app :)
I saw one RUclipsr mention that you have to follow the same protocol when using USB-C to HDMI Cables. That can't be correct is it?
Never heard of that to be honest, it’s always good either way routines of course but I never heard of a fried usb c. With that said tho, there is always a possibility but I wouldn’t worry about that personally:)
The randomness of the problem can be explained by understanding how it happens. The center pin of the cable makes contact with the connector before the ground (outer jacket), then you have a significant chance of frying the SDI. You cannot fry the SDI if your ground circuit is always completed first. With connectors like HDMI and USBC the outer casing of the actual connector is grounded and if you have ever noticed you have to insert these cables a significant distance into the connector before the remaining contacts make a connection. Long story short it's almost impossible to have the powered pins contact the connector before it makes a ground thus preventing the ground fault. I would clarify one point that I don't see on all the videos. You do NOT need to disconnect both ends of the BNC cable to protect yourself. There is a concept know as "air gapping". As long as one side of the cable is not connected it's impossible to fry your SDI. That could be important and in our case it's very difficult to disconnect the SDI on the camera side because of the rigging. There is no need though, we simply disconnect the monitor side.
@ comprehensive comment and I see where you’re coming from. Great one, this video is just a worst case scenario and people really do need to know their protocol, if not to protect the camera but also be efficient on set and to know it if someone says to perform it by the protocol way. But yeah, I don’t disconnect the monitor, only the camera, but that’s also due to rigging :) 🙏🏼
So what was the recipe to make your own?
Hi:) Try to DIY step by step: 1️⃣ Prepare the ingredients: You will need PROPYLENE GLYCOL and VEGETABLE GLYCERIN in a ratio of 1:4. 2️⃣ Measure 25ml of PROPYLENE GLYCOL and 100ml of VEGETABLE GLYCERIN. 3️⃣ Mix 25ml of PROPYLENE GLYCOL with 100ml of VEGETABLE GLYCERIN. 4️⃣ Ensure thorough blending for a uniform mixture. 5️⃣ Optionally, you can use a dropper for easy handling and application. If you don't have a dropper, you can purchase one separately or find a suitable alternative.
No drama no time waste , direct on main thing....good video.....thank you
Cool, i appreciate it mate 🙏🏼

Great video. Does the app alow you to do touch focus.
Thanks man, no, unfortunately not touch focus functioning.. but then again, it is a sub 150$ products so happy with what it gives :)
I cant get a video signal as indicated in my Pyro S transmitter. Im using an hdmi cable and Panasonic AG 30 camera
Wharves the resolution you send out of the camera? :)
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Completetely irrelevant for my video, I know nothing about binance
I have an fx3, but I was honestly like damn I could sell my fx3 and get the s5iix for like half the price and shoot braw on it with the blackmagic monitor. Then I heard about the hdmi lag. What a shame, Id pull the trigger on that in a heartbeat otherwise, I use hdmi monitors all the time
Yeah I know, it is the Achilles heel of pretty much all Panasonic cameras I’m afraid:/
IT HELPED ME A LOT THAT VIDEO!! When i find out how to appear fx setting on the right of the screen (and dissapear double screen) i did it and its davinci is very effective in chroma key,the only mini problem is that stable picture is on the middle of timeline like yours but ok....TY😃
Cool man, happy that you got it working 🙏🏼🙌
Will all SDI isolator cables work with the PYXIS
Hi, thanks for the comment. In theory yes. But I was reading up on those cables and solutions and found that those products doesn’t really give you a 100% coverage anyway. But yeah. :)
@@AlexReinholdsson would you still recommend using it as additional layer of protection ?
@@ghospod well, an extra layer of protection is never wrong, I see no harm in it, with that said tho, good routines and well looked after equipment does it for me. I’m not using the extra protection:)

can i pair the xtalk pro to the normal xtalk ?
I don’t think so. But I’ll text synco to see.
Got an answer: Yes! They could be connected with each other. But make sure this key point "if your X5 is X5_BM_1.0.3.1.bin, make sure your xpro is X5_PRO_1.0.3.0_.bin."
@@AlexReinholdsson I'm a little bit stuck with the update cause I'm a Mac user like everyone around me.
I would assume you mean Mac? But I feel you on that part, didn’t know you needed a pc to update

Unused the aivascope adapter mainly :)
@@AlexReinholdsson I do not understand what you are saying... What Lens did you use with the Aivascope Adapter??? it looked as you used the Helios 44-2 58mm
Yeah, I used the Helios adapted to EF and then the aivascope in front of the Helios :)
The fact that a “hybrid” camera that’s waaaay cheaper has to be compared to a much more expensive cinema camera tells you everything you need to know. LUMIX is the new king
Well, in many of the aspects I am with you there. Since I made the video a few updates has been pushed to the FX3 but I still would prefer the S5ii X. Just waiting for an update from like the s1h or something like that
This is brilliant... and explained sooo simply... a must watch. Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback 🙏🏼 I appreciate it so much :)
I’m reading reviews that the motor is too loud to use if recording audio and video. Can you share your experience please? I would be using it for videoing a podcast.
Well, I just used it in three interviews as a b cam slider and i had no issues at all with it. I can have an extra look on the footage if you want to. But it might also depend on how close you are :)
@ Thank you for your response. I would be using as a B cam as well, so it may be a non issue for me as well. Much appreciated.
cool _)
Some have reported that it doesn't perfectly repeat movements so syncing footage on top of each other is hard to do. Is this something you could test? Debating whether or not I should buy it for commercial product shoots and I need it to perfectly reproduce A to B movement every time.
I will make another test where I will be meticulous in a to b and looping, cause the tests i have done is more narrative, so i have not had any need for it yet to be on the millimeter..
BM Video Assist to record Braw is great but the lag is horrible, making audio recording practically useless - unless you go Tentacle Sync or Deity. $$$$$!! Sony cinematic look right out of the camera, and natural. Not so much for the Lumix. Open Gate nice idea but lesser quality than tilting a FX3. FX3 shoots beautiful 120fps slow mo. Only awful 1080p 120 fps on the Lumix. Sony already has shutter angle now, and it will port out Braw to a minimal lag/sound sync adjustable Ninja soon in the upcoming FX3 update. Sony AF is incredible and really useful, and there is no comparison here with Lumix. Sony has solid steady shot performance and amazing gyro metadata using Catalyst browser. Sony apps are the best in the industry. You get what you pay for.
Hi! Thanks for the comment and sorry for the tardy answer, I wasn't in front of a xomputer and to write it on the phone was just like, naaah. Yeah, fully with you on the lag part, it is annoying and terrible, not for in like interviews and stuff tho since it works great for that, but on the whole, the HDMI lag with sound is a bit annoying.. Sony and a cinematic look out of the camera, I don't really follow what you mean there cause the FX3 is a quite digital look, not very cinematic unless you use cinema lenses or put a nice soft grade on it. But then again, all cameras with the right light, framing and lens can look cinematic. That expression is experiencing a higher inflation than the Swedish krona at the moment. About the 120 fps, fully with you on that part. as i also stated in the video. it still isn't as full of informatioin as the other codecs but 120 4k no crop.. that's a bummer to miss on the Lumix. Open gate as an idea.. I shoot for 4 companies monthly that needs the videos in 16x9, 9x16 and 4x5. This is fully doable in open gate. It is 6k, still 10-bit and works amazing. Some shots I can't replicate twice so it's crucial for me at this moment. And then to just meet the last few comments. Yeah, FX3 get's Braw in about a year, which is amazing for sony users. The autofocus on the Lumix s5 ii and II x is actually really good. It's still a tad behind the fx3, but not that much. If you waould have compared to S5 mk1. Then by all means, there is a no contest. but with the s5ii x i actually don't mind. And have in mind I sold my FX3 to only use the s5ii x. And yeah you have amazing gyro data, if you push the shutter beyond every reasonable limit, put it in a separate app to render and loose quality before putting it in your NLE. then yeah, it's amazing. But the IBIS in the S5 IIx is so unreal I barely use a gimbal anymore. But anyhow. Thank you for the comment, also nice for me to have aa reflextion on what I miss and not from the Sony line.
Thanks for sharing! I am considering it to use with my new s5iix since I find connecting to Lumix sync app somewhat unreliable. Do you think it's a good replacement for that app? My concern is that I would miss being able to remotely change settings and focus. I still want to record to an SSD for Prores.
Hi! Yeah it is considerably less laggy and very responsive, so you can't really compare the app to the cineview. Since the cineview goes via hdmi, you can still record to an SSD via the USB c. So that wouldn't be an issue
What is the latency for these? When you stand next to another unit how long is the delay to hear what is being spoken from the headset beside it? Is it instant? The regular X-Talk has terrible latency compared to other intercoms and everyone wants to know if it has been fixed.
I tried it now. It still has a lag, not that much that I wouldn't use it. And I don't have a reference but there is a small lag still. Synco commented on this post, so ask them more specifically!
@@AlexReinholdsson After looking at several videos after this, it appears that the delay comes from using the 2.4ghz frequency versus 1.9ghz. Even the new Hollyland Solidcom SE 2.4ghz version has a delay. However, they also make a Hollyland Solidcom SE 1.9ghz version, that no one is able to find yet. I was really hoping that the PRO version of the X-Talks would have eliminated the delay or greatly minimized over the non-PRO version...I really like their Monitor IN jack and the ability to make any unit the MASTER.
@davidhardy4684 fair enough, that could definitely be the case here. And yeah I really like the versatility of not being locked to only one master :)
Does this still have a delay compared to the normal Xtalk? :) Thanks!
I'm going to be honest with you, I did not try the normal X-talk before so I can't really say anything about that one but this one i don't feel there is any delay, I can make a closer look but if I did not even notice it I would say it's good :P
Great kit! we also used used!
That's great to hear! 🙏🏻
Did you use it frequently? How is it holding up?
Yeah in the beginning i used it for all the things I could dream up would do better images 😂 after I got a replacement battery it has not given me any headaches at all.. and I think that all units shipping since a while has the new batteries in it :)
Hye kindly help me choose one. Between Lumix S5IIX and A7IV? My main motive is cinema I will be making films! Also suggest me one lens as i m on tight budget which will do most of my work? Thankyou Also FX3 is kinda out of my budget but do you think I should get only fx3 please help me choose one I m making my own feature film. I can invest only once for a while so thats why lot of consideration. Help me out man! Thankyou
Hey man! Thanks for the question.. like the video tell you I strongly lean towards the Panasonic. I would not go with the a7iv for a platitude of reasons. I love the fact the the s5iix can record in both prores and blackmagic raw. Although the internal codecs is already amazing as well. V-log is a really nice log format to work with as well.. and, it is an easy camera to adapt lenses to as well.. So the choice is always yours, but I would definitely choose the Panasonic, every day of the week 🙏🏻
@ thankyou bro! Also can you suggest me a single lens which can fit the budget and would do most of the work?
@@aaqibkhan.1 well with a feature you would usually wanna go with primes.. but if you were to use one "regular" lens, I'd say the 24-70 from Sigma is insanely good for the money. I use that for ao much of my work 🙈
