Fantastic review! I am deciding between the ca901 and this ca701. I do play advanced classical and need something sounding and feeling great. I loved the ca901. Wanted a Roland gp-6 but it fell short in touch and I felt like I was fighting it. Too stiff and heavy and not fast like the Kawai. I did want a digital white polished mini gp but it seems that if I want the soft and fast touch and great sound it is going to be the Kawai. And probably this 701. If I’m not getting a baby grand I don’t want to spend the extra money on the 901. Because I don’t like the look at it at all. So for a compromise in design I think I’ll save the money and get the 701 that Luke showed still sounds amazing❤
uwu
I just purchased the Kawai CA701. My first doubt: but... where are the 2 front tweeters? I can't see them and, hear their sound! Can someone help me? Thank you
Two other important improvements: 1. The speakers are now 13 watts total (vs. 5 watts on the original CT-S1). This should allow you to play in a few more types of settings without having to bring an external amp. 2. There is a new mobile app that allows you to control all of the parameters without having to press and hold multiple keys on the keyboard (e.g. velocity curve, effects, layers, etc.).

What about the beehhss?
I bought a P145 its rubbish only lasted 10 months and then developed major faults = good job its still under warranty. My prevoius yamaha ( P 45) lasted 4 years. May try a Roland next if I get my money back from Yamaha
Support midi?
I'm definitely selling my P125 and getting this one ASAP!
Thanks for the video - looks and sounds good. The piano sound should be featured in a variety of genres (classical, pop, rock, jazz, Latin, etc.) as most keyboard players would buy this as a piano. Figure 80% piano and 20% for Rhodes, organ, clavichord sounds.
Are there any creators that teach kids how to play these keyboards?
88 notes? Keys perhaps?
No matter how hard Casio tries they cannot seem to get their piano sound right. It always sounds tinny in the middle.
You must be rich having all those keyboards. What keyboard around this price range would you suggest for me?
@@luismartinez6408 Most of them i sold a looooooooooong time ago. And when i got them it was either for cheap or i traded something else. I would suggest you to get something similar to this, because it it the best you're going to get for the price. Even a PSR-E483 is more expensive
@@luismartinez6408get the Roland go keys 3. It’s the same price and sounds awesome with lots of good sounds and a pitch bend wheel as well as some other cool comping features.
I'm on a tight budget too. I'm going for Yamaha NP-32 which is much cheaper these days because NP-35 has been introduced (and they both identical). I've had Roland and Casio before but I tell you nothing comes close to Yamaha in terms of sound.
It looks amazing, but it sounds so bad :(
I use my CT-S1 primarily as a MIDI keyboard controller but several of the built-in sounds are pretty good and nice to have as a backup. I love the key action - quick, quiet, responsive, and allows you to play with decent expression.
Finally finally Casio, at last!!!!!
I think its a fine instrument, but to define "best" you also have to look at what you want to do with it, or what emphasis you have in certain aspects or features of your piano.
I must agree with your perspective on the subject. It usually boils down to what type of tasks you want to accomplish, and will this instrument fulfill your personal demands - for that reason I’ve been gawking at the Roland RD-2000 EX - it’s a particular stage piano that will suit my needs more than sufficiently👍🏾
No, but it’s the most expensive
what would you’re alternative be?
Depends on what you’re trying to do, what type of gig you’re playing, what features you need, for me I use kurzweil keyboards, they’re unmatched in the programming depth, and all the major brands sound great, Nord, Kurzweil, Yamaha, Roland and many others, I have a Yamaha Ck61, is sounds amazing, easy to tweak the sounds, great effects, 3 zones of any sound you want, cost me $800 floor model, you decide what makes you happy
Great job! Great overview, thanx!
no it's not.
due to what exactly? You seem utterly bewildered by not understanding Scandinavian design and invention, is there jealousy I hear in your words?
@@SimplicityForGood you write like a bot
And… does it transpose?
Does it have several electric piano/Fender Rhodes type sounds and 70’s organ/Hammond type sounds?
Whats with the chirps/blocks sound on the drum accents?? Can you edit these out....quite distracting...
I’ve had the P515 for a couple of months and I absolutely love it,in particular the CFX and Bosendorfer samples,I also love the ballad and rock and bright grand samples, all very useable for band or solo piano gigs and theatre shows with orchestras that I’m often involved playing in,as a musician for 50 years since the age of 7,I absolutely love the P515🙂👍🎹
I remember looking at this at the retail music store. They didn't make it all that attractive. IT was just sitting in a stack of cardboard boxes with one sitting open. Looks like an advance Casio clone by Roland. LOL. Glad Roland has come around to making an affordable 'workstation' Roland should have done a better job with the style. It's very boring looking at face value. Doesn't tell the store of what lives inside there!
Yes i did it
Where can I get this piano, and what's the price.?
Sweetwater has them.
Danny, where is the bass
You got the branding wrong on the thumbnail.
Well done 🎉
Great way to have 2 people interacting and reviewing this potent instrument
Roland piano sound hasn’t changed much since 30 years or so.
256 steps ? Finally ! It's like a rule in synth world. Cheap keyboard = no sequencer of any kind. Oh you want one anyway ? Here it is with artificially crippled length. Because our phones have gigabytes of RAM, our keyboard can only fit 32 steps.
So it's very different to original Go:keys, do I understand it correctly ? There every style had 7 drum tracks, 7 bass tracks, 7 chord tracks, which you could combine as you wanted. Here it is just ABCD for every style with mute ? Also how long is the chord sequencer. Please don't tell me it's 4 chords. Guess I have to download the manual ..
Is it multitimbral and in that case is it about the same system as with the MC's and the MV with limited channels (not 16)?
Shalom.
Awesome video! Quickly covers all the questions a potential buyer would likely have, and shows off the sound.
Casio a fatto tanti passi avanti.. Ma le tastiere entry level restano sempre Pocco affidabili e con materiali non proffessionali.....
A real MIDI OUT 5 pin din would have been extremely useful and convenient.
Yep, and make it sort of like a Yamaha MX40 synth/controller.
@@gbkny1 precisely 👍
great walk through Andy!

does that big hunk of plastic music rest come off at all for when not in use? i e. to leave a flat surface on the top of the piano? i feel like it really ruins the look. compared to the transparent stand on the as-s450.
I get a gokeys3 last. I like it. It’s powerful and very useful.sounds great ❤
It is essential.that a keyboard with a voice processor capable of transposing voice into mecanical.engineered speech able to engage both low and.high key tone. be available. Since the singer vocalist has to stand often.in front of an audience he.has to teach himself the.skill of.activating voice.sound whilst pronouncing.poetry in.standing.position facing audience.Korg has this capacity but lack a full piano size keyboard and is too heavy for stand alone sing in.front.performsnce. Consider carefully what your needs are. The Casio CT-S1 and CT-S400 are less pricey, have velocity keys, almost semi-weighted action and the Casio AiX sound engine. Every newer model of keyboard has MIDI output. The big question is, do you or don't you have a use for the arranger features? All of the front-line brands are good. Depends on what you need.
The casio is at roland ex10 level
@@hussamasmar I looked up the Roland EX-10. It looks like a deal for the price and it might be a good competitor to the Casio CT-S300 0r the Yamaha PSR-E373. At the price point, there is no way it can be equal to the instruments I discussed. It could be the right instrument for a certain person though. Songwriters have different methods and so instrumentalists. I have an 88-key keyboard and I have a Casio CT-S1 which I consider to be the best portable for my purposes. Don't eff with people's heads. I wanted acoustic piano emulation and that's what I got. I'm not advanced either, although I understand chord progression thanks to some background earlier in my life, and I'm already composing songs. What's right for any particular person is a delicate issue. Let people work it out.
Yes 👍
The perfect keyboard for truck drivers like myself!!! I would be able to practice and better my skills during my off duty time throughout the week!!! Massive sounds for such a budget friendly instrument!!! Thanks for this Roland!!! It's long overdue!!!🤘😎
Consider the Casio CT-S1 or the Casio CT-S400 depending on what features you want and what kind of music you play. Less pricey.
I pick up one of these and I'm blown away at the voice quality for the money! 😀
