First time of SVS in 300 size, something I have thought about much, that were a downside of Shimano 300 reels against the competition, adjustable casting brake from the outside. Finally, that is also a real performance upgrade I guess.

I have the 6'10m casting and its extremely versatile. I have fished flukes, small crankbaits squarebill, small texas rig and the minimax and stealth chatterbaits, its also a decent lipless rod but I prefer a longer rod. This rod is really versatile. Just letting you know my experience with it. I'm in Florida so i fish a lot of braid to leader. Excellent rod and I have a Diawa Zillion on mine for light baits

@TackleCrew I use pretty much all casting rods. I have 3 Expride casting rods 6’8, 7’2mh and the 7’6XH. My spinning rods are the Zodias which are also excellent but not as sensitive. Excellent review of the Exprides.

Thank you! What do you use the 7’2mh for the most? I used to own it but let it go because I did really find a purpose for it that I couldn’t do on the 6’10 M in my type of fishing for perch. I pretty much only used it for heavier jig heads.

@TackleCrew I live in Florida so I fish all weedy lakes for largemouth and I love the 7’2mh graphite for weightless flukes and Texas Rig worms because it’s so sensitive. The 7’6XH I use for flipping, punching mats and it’s a great rod for soft Swimbaits with a beast hook and even throw small glide baits on it up to 2.5oz it seems to handle them fine

It has held up great, and it is built really tough. We have exclusive fished it for pike. We have thrown up to 120g lures. Most of the body is aluminum, however there is one part gear side built with magnesium, so if you fish in salt water make sure to wash it under fresh water after use to have it last longer. Other than that, this reel has held up great for us, and we know more people from team Daiwa fishing pike with this reel.

@ sounds great ! I will pear it with a Daiwa Prorex XR Shorty that I have just ordered. I think it will be a great way to start pike season 2025. Thanx for all the great content and reviews.

You can, it will perhaps not be the best rod for it. The 6’10 spinning is usually the choice for ned.

Main differences are line guides and reel seat. On the Elite they choose more expensive and lighter materials. Some have criticized the elite to be fragile because of the carbon lines guides, but they have held up fine in my case. Rod action is very similar 👍🏻

@ amazing feedback. Not many people has review this rod. I rather get the elite. I know there small difference but thats how they get the angler. The rating is very import because it supports 50-240. Thats perfect for a sweet 2 oz lure. Ags is 40 gram minimum and elite is 50 gram. Length 8.4 vs 8.6. Very small differnece. What do you suggest? Get the elite right?

Yes. If you can afford the Elite, then the Elite is really sweet! Small differences, but they add up and the Elite will give you a premium feeling that the Ags doesn’t in my opinion.

@ I learn my lesson. Best to go premium. I thought elite has ags guides? Like here New York, we use 2 oz lure a lot. This rod is ideal for it. Just 8.4 is kinda short. I prefer 11 feet. Also this elite is available in one store in Sweden. I gotta wait for that store to reply me and ship it to USA. It is gonna be a long processs

Btw så är det betesverkstad i hela vardagsrummet.. Slipar o mattar ner beten inför att färgen till min airbrush kommer på måndag/tisdag. Black pike galore kommer de bli. Första färgen ja ska lära mig måla bra, är ju en väldigt enkel färg. En mall och maskeringstape för orange linjen under. Har färger för det mesta betesfärgerna men kommer satsa på G5 färgerna Black Pike och även Black devil som ja tycker borde heta black pike.. Kan ej göra cwc Hulken men lazy jerk Hulken ska ja klara inom kort. Själv är jag svag för nämnda svarta, sen Smurfen. SZ dofsingen va väl sådär, Smurfen med, ska försöka få till Smurfen som Westin gör den. Har mängder med otuggade Jerbaits ja håller på slipa av..

Jr är lite mer ettrig i sin gång, och även lättare att få sida-sida gång på när man jerkar med spöt. Det är en bra one-two punch att köra med den större i djupare vatten, medan den lilla kan fiskar grundare över gräs. Står du t.ex. på en gräskant så kör du med störa utanför eller längst med gräset och den lilla över eller igenom

@TackleCrew Okej. Om du jämför guppie JR mot Big McMy, vad är skillnaden mellan dom två? McMy stora och lilla både första gen och denna generation kan jag innan och utan. Hur är Guppie JR mot stora Mcmy? Är ju väldigt lika i storleken. Var gärna så utförlig du kan. Håller på ta fram ett liknande bete, i slö takt, nu lär de bli mycket beteslackande o byggandet lite vilande.

Yes they handle them well. I haven’t fished the Rapala SR09 Shad Rap but very similar baits and deep water lures. But we would recommend to choose one with lower gear ratio. 5,1:1 or 5,3:1 at most.

Yes. Including original Shimano and Daiwa reels. Many good Chinese companies are selling fantastic good reels now. Expecially BFS baitcaster reels. Their own brands. Lot of reviews on RUclips. 👍🐟

I will choose either Chinese or premium Japanese. Budget Japanese (Curado, SLX, Tatula,...) or Korean (Abu) are waste of money. Chinese premium is cheaper than budget Japanese, but the Chinese are much better caster and feel.
