Is it mandatory to change the sensor wire every time we change the pads ? Ans is it ok if the sensor is after market or should we use bmw?

Hmm.. seeing how you struggled to find the boot liner clip locations, you have probably not done this DIY before. Those plastic prying tools are useless. A pair of test pens on each side works better. Congratulations on showing the use of crow bar prying loose the ball-joint end of absorber, and the use of a mallet hammering the new absorber in. Many RUclipsrs make it look so easy to detach and attach the absorber!

Are there wear sensors on both sides? I looked up a brake kit (genuine BMW they say) and it only comes with one wear sensor. Can anybody confirm if the wear sensors are on the driver side only?

I've just replaced mine too. Theres actually 2 springs. One on each side of the boot/trunk. I ordered both. The right one is heavier in weight . I replaced the right spring and everything is sorted now. However the reason I'm writing this post is because as theres 2 springs theres no way of knowing which one to replace. Or is it a case of it's always the right spring that needs replacing when the boot/trunks opens quickly without any dampening?
