I loved riding in Crowns growing up. Always wanted my own. Just cost too much money.

Milwaukee & Suburban Transport Corporation acquired 164 GM TDH-5105 buses from 1953 to 1959. Most of them survived when Milwaukee County took over the bus system in 1975. I rode these buses with my parents back in the late 1970's. I knew a number of bus operators that drove them. All retired in mid-1980. The last 5105 built is still around in Northern Illinois. I glad that a few 5105s are preserved. Have a nice day/night.

The 4104 is my favorite coach. My uncle, Leon Swendsen drove those & the Senics, MCIs till he retired in the mid 70's.

A 1958 PD4104 was the first coach I worked on and drove in early 70’s

Milwaukee used to have 258 GM TDH-5303 buses back in the day. 75 in 1963 (1601-1675) 30 in 1964 (1701-1730) 63 in 1965 (1801-1863) 60 in 1966 (1901-1960) 30 in 1967 (2001-2030) The 1900's & 2000's were completely rehabilitated from 1982 to 1987. 1925 was preserved by the Illinois Railway Museum (2001-2011). Unfortunately, it got scrapped in late 2011. Will never forgive them at all.

I see the note "Originally delivered to San Diego transit system in March 1960. Having started to drive for Greyhound in 1961, I immediately knew it was not an "original Greyhound. Greyhound , at least in the east, never had black seats in 4104's and never had "high'" drivers rear view mirrors. Black seats in the upper level of "scenics". Also the dash and entrance door was always painted green. Exterior of this coach is beautiful in the original paint scheme.

Stan great collection as usual. Is this a new lot? I remember some of these buses being inside? What’s the story on that Yellow 743? Looks like it was made into a camper. Where the emergency door is looks higher.

Love those vintage buses especially the Crowns and the GM Old look and the fishbowls too. They remind me of my childhood and wanting to be a bus driver which I fulfilled years later for Metro Transit Seattle.
