I loved this conversation. I watched/listened while at the gym. Happy New Year to you and your dad. I've been trying to settle into the idea that if I'm taking on something extra, it needs to be fun and bring relief. I appreciate you, man!

You always had a purpose, but you somehow think that RUclips is gonna care about your purpose and give you ton of views. RUclips changes very fast every month and you either do what you have always done and every year your views will go down or you adapt fast to the trends which might even cost you your old RUclips channel and you would need to create a new one so the RUclips algoritm understands it better.

Practically speaking, why not move to another country instead of paying sooo much taxes in Sweden 🤔

I can totally understand how discouraging it must feel when viewership drops. To be honest, it seems to me that the entire 'camera RUclips scene' has been on a decline in terms of viewership for quite some time. I've noticed that many creators I've followed for 5+ years have been posting less frequently, which kind of reflects this trend. To some extent, I think this applies to the tech RUclips space as well, although Marques Brownlee seems to be the exception to the rule. As someone who's also interested in cameras, I've noticed that videos about cameras just don't seem to generate as much interest in myself either anymore. Maybe the industry has plateaued a bit-there aren't as many groundbreaking innovations or the same level of excitement as before. Or perhaps products have simply become so refined that there’s less to discuss. Or it could be something else entirely. Just some thoughts I’ve had as a viewer!

Can I also recommend something for a video like this? Dont cut. Just let it roll. Like a Podcast. Even when it is 60 Minute long. This would be great.

This is so interesting. I can imagine a Podcast with you dad. Maybe 3 per month or something. I would Listen tho this for hours

Really sorry to hear your troubles and I understand your struggles if I may suggest your videos are great but I’ve noticed RUclips recently pushes videos that are driven by popular topics. I am sure much of your audience would love to hear your thoughts about such popular topics and incorporate your blog style into them because they love your style, but also want to hear about those Topics such as newsworthy events. Just a few thoughts!

For this vlog channel I think you should just go through the motions till something jumps out at you. Document two maybe three days then put together a story. Try letting more time pass and see if it helps. Every day is tuff maybe less is more and will give you more insight into what your next big project will be. Once a week video summary might be nice. Sometimes you need to stop trying to figure out where you are going and just start walking in a direction.

Ett riktigt trevligt avsnitt! Har ju sett glimtar av din fars verkstad i någon film och förstår att han saknar sina maskiner! Jag kollar på alla dina filmer och har gjort det under lång tid och man har märkt tydligt att du kämpar med vad du ska göra filmer om i framtiden. Många filmer på senare tid handlar ju om just det. En sak som jag har reflekterat en del över är ju det som drabbat mobiltelefonerna, det känns nästan jobbigt att byta telefon idag, den gamla fungerar och är jättebra, trots några år på nacken och nu känns det som att kamerabranschen hamnar där också. Det är få saker som är WOW, och är det WOW, så är prislappen ouppnåelig också. Man kan ju dessutom göra jättefina klipp med en mobiltelefon också, så förstår att stora "kamera-gear-kanaler" har svårt att hålla uppe antalet "views". Nu kan man ju köpa dina kurser, men den typen av innehåll med redigering och tips är ju något man aldrig kan lära sig för mycket om, det hade jag gärna sett mer om på kanalen. En sak är iallafall säker, jag kommer att kolla på dina filmer vad du än hittar på! 😃 Gott Nytt År på Er!! 🥳

There are a bunch of changes coming in 2025 to boost the viewership, as well as, other benefits, it's just a patience game right now until the changes take effect.

I think video’s like yours (and many others) were buried due to all the political mayhem that has consumed the internet. We are all ready for ways to step beyond the insanity and change our focus to something fun and inspiring. You can produce content in that realm. You are an inspiring guy and have the ability to produce interesting and beneficial content. I think we’re all tired and need to reset and start life over again.

What a great way to open your podcast, Peter, with your dad! I agree with your dad on how fast technology is advancing. It's funny because I was just talking about that with my kids. How not too long ago, cellphones, internet and computer didn't exist. It's crazy what we can do now! Peter, the story is not finished. You just ended a chapter. Start a new one! Happy New Year!
