My best closet renovation in 11 minutes
Renovated my daughters closet. Repurposed the original dresser my wife grew up with. Lots of work went into this including custom built cubbies to fit those mini storage cubes.

This picnic table was built by my grandfather (to include the steel legs) and has been sitting in their backyard for YEARS. It was given to me in order to give it new life. A lot of firsts here. First time making a video. First end grain cutting board. First juice groove attempt. I apologize I lost the video of the second glue up showing how I got the pattern. This board was originally being made to sell but it has some flaws, so I let my wife keep it. Plans are for more videos in the future of other projects. Enjoy and thank you for watching.
I like the overall design and I appreciate someone that has great woodworking skills, but could the design have included the original dresser (it appeared to be in good condition) and just put on the floor (maybe reinforced with L brackets to the wall) and added bookcases on the floor, etc? Was the point of raising them off of the floor to add shoe racks later?

found this a waste took a beautiful dresser apart for what..could have done the same build without all that wasted energy
So, instead of building something completely new you chose to brake something, then remade it after completely destroying. That's seems... genius 🤔🤡

What impressed me most are the power tools! It’s a bit harder to do when you don’t have any!

Would you be willing to share the initial dimensions of the lumber and/or the final dimensions of the board? It’s gorgeous! I just love maple so much.
This board turned out 18x15 inches by 2.5 thick. The boards I used were about 16in in length.

This was a spectacular project!!! As a daughter myself, I can tell you that a daddy is SO important to a girl... you have shown her through your deeds that she is very important to you, and therefore a valuable human being. With that foundation of love, she will grow with a confidence that won't allow her to be taken advantage of or made to feel inferior. She's going to know her dad is there for her... always. 😁 Great job!!!

Love the look, but it will only last for a few years before it will be too immature. I would prefer a remodel that could be easily changed as the daughter matures.
