Frank Klare - Solodreams (1986, Progressive Electronic)
Frank Klare is a German synthesizer musician who has been active in the electronic music scene since the mid 80s. This is his first solo release, distributed through the assumingly self-owned Synco Music cassette label in 1986.
That being said, this upload is of the 2013 remaster of this album, released through the similarly-named label SynGate.
I hadn't been aware of Frank's music until recently, but I've really enjoyed what I've heard so far. Lots of his other tunes are available on RUclips so if you liked this upload you can find plenty more out there!

Whoops! Is a various artists ("Artiste Varies") compilation released under the French label Houpla in 1992. As far as I can tell, this was the only release by this label. He started the band Synco in 1984 with Mirko Lüthge and also worked in a project called Traumklang for... some period of time. Sadly a lot of the info surrounding his projects have been lost to time it seems :(
It's a fact that several Electronic artists throughout the 1980s were unknown or unwanted. Many of their recordings marked a time in history when Electronic Music expanded and evolved into something unique... but yet not remembered by anyone in particular. Although many of us appreciate the early Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, and others who surfaced in the 70s and 80s....the underground Electronic Music itself presented new ideas. New soundscapes. Music that in today's world would perhaps be thought as soundtrack...whereas years before it was not. I grew up on Wendy Carlos, Beaver & Krause, Ruth White, Terry Riley , Mort Garson , Delia Derbyshire and others who were groundbreaking. In the 80s I was obsessed with Pauline Anna Strom, Emerald Web, Celluloid ( Chuck Minuto), and many others who seemed to take the essence of what existed in the 1960s and 70s....and create a new dimension of sound ideas and chord sequencing . Those times were magical...

Thank you for the kind comment :) I'm pretty sure I found the Nightcrawlers through the I.E.M.A. tapes around late 2021. I was looking for music of that style and once I found them I listened to all of their albums in the span of a month or so. Used to wake up a few hours before work, put their albums on and just zone out. It's a shame how underappreciated they still are!

Wow, what a tape! And the first track - apologies if it's out of context but I didn't see a track list here so I don't know even its name, which could give me a tip about what it is about - gave me strong "Mars" vibes ("The Planets" by Gustav Holst) and especially, strong DEFCON (2006 game) vibes relating to the onset of tension as the scenario gradually and inexorably deteriorates from DEFCON 5 to DEFCON 1.
Music that's spellbinding, mysterious, bordering on mysticism, it's exceptional, we're very close to aural perfection! We're really in the "high-end" class musically speaking and I personally describe this genre as "music from the stars", I love it !!!
