This is the story of how Kevin Busarow became obsessed with big binoculars-and how what started as a hobby, became his life. Oberwerk Binoculars are made in China at their exclusive plant and then shipped to Dayton, Ohio for final quality control and a serial numbers. Founded in 1999, Oberwerk is now the leading supplier of high powered binoculars. Find out more at www.oberwerk.com
Introduction to the iOptron HAZ31 go-to mount. Find and track any celestial objects
Просмотров 875Месяц назад
We love the iOptron HAZ31 strain wave go-to mount for our big binoculars. With it’s 32 channel GPS receiver, it can locate the binocular and guide it to anything in the sky. That’s why it’s a “Go To” mount- type in the moon or Saturn and it will go directly to it. If you are into time lapse astro-photography, this mount will track objects to get you perfect long exposures. You can also use it m...

Oberwerk Video Series Episode #1: Collimation
I love your booth at NEAF. We traveled from California. Bought the 6.5x32 last year and the 15x70 Deluxe this year after trying them out at NEAF. They are the most accurately collimated binoculars that I have ever had.
The very finest video describing binoculars. Thank you Kevin.
Kevin, another nice video. I love my two TR3 tripods and my periodogram with my two Model 5000 heads. Thank you and your company for the Excellent products you carry..
Excellent video Kevin! I'll be sure to share this with amateurs getting started in the wonderful two eyed side of the hobby with binocular astronomy.
No middle man, lol. He is the middle man. Wow.
Everything looks awesome, except the price .(But is not just oberwerk. Its practically everyone. Somehow I highly doubt a glass made in china for pennies has the ability to double the price to 5k vs a acromatic bt, but it is what it is). Achromatic 120bt will be as far as I can find it acceptable for me in price .
those binoculars are my dreammm. hopefully one day i can afford them and find a way to ship them to my country
astrolab here
Cheap Chinese Crap
OBERWERK SHOULD IMPROVE THEIR WEB SITE ... So many people looking for wooden tripods. Their site in non inclusive. You have to keep clicking into more and more icons.
Nice video; interesting! Always a pleasure to work with you and enjoy your excellent products.
I have been using my BT-100XL-SD on a T3 with the 608 head for a few years now. It set up properly it makes for a very relaxing session.
Excellent !
If you could add link to the online stores it would be great !
I need one of those asap!
That’s impressive that you personally inspect every binocular that goes to a customer
ruclips.net/video/Og27UJNHOns/видео.html why do u show fake pics of space behind you ,,, im the onnly one who has recored real video of stars ,,,,,dont lie to the public
Thank you Kevin.
Oberwerk has made me obsessed with binoculars, that's for sure!! 😂 I got into astronomy using mounted binos and have owned many brands over the years, but it wasn't until I found that magic blend of quality, price, and (most importantly to me) backing/assurance in Oberwerk that I actually became obsessed with binocular astronomy and learning to use a verify of different instruments during my observing sessions. My astro-arsenal includes a verify of excellent straight-thru Obies, including so far: 6.5x32LW, 8x32SE, 8x42SED, 10x50U, 12x50EDU, 15x70D, 15x70U, & 20x70EDU. I haven't dove into the amazing world of BTs yet, but hope to fix that when the money's not funny...
First of all hello and I hope you're doing well. What a great video. I'm sure you know the impact you have on people. You are definitely the example. I'm working hard and saving up to try and buy the XL 120. I think about it everyday. Best of times to you and those you love
You are the best ! I have had binoculars 3 times the price with issues on arrival like collimating but your passion and dedication blows them away I don’t hesitate to buy anything from you and when my binoculars have arrived they are so we’ll packaged and no collimating problems again thank you!
And the stars are close they are frequencies.. their is no depth to the stars .. hahahh nice try fake space
I have captured the firmament many times
Why do u have fake cgi images of fake space on the wall
So interesting. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Best of times to you and your family
bt 70xl a real beauticutie
Great products, on my channel and website you can find many reviews of Oberwerk binoculars
I have this mount in its traditional configuration. I think of it as a mount that can handle up to 15 pounds, appropriately balanced side to side. What size Oberwerk binoculars does this setup handle? Is there a maximum less than 127 mm? Great video.
This is far from nice , proprietary mount , with a bubble level , im sure its correct , counterweights , give me a break , there are motors around these days that hold big scopes for astrophotography that are that big , absolute wreck of a design , jesus chirst i could make it better . Im sure you are selling those a lot , and im also sure you put in the real nice zoomed in EPs , when only refractors can use big EPs like 40mm for wide field of view , i mean i could make this a ton better . Probably cheaper as well .
Show us what you've accomplished. Take all the time you need.
@@plinthley as far as mounts go having a proprietary mount is rubbish , for us users , imagine all telescope mounts having proprietary mount , you like that , i don't and there is no need for me to invent hot water its already on the market , 2nd the motor , even big scopes today do not use counterweights , look it up , if it was cheap i would overlook it , but its not , so its obsolete overpriced mount , mounted incorrectly because tripod is made bad . And as far as Binos go , be my guest use Zoom EP , i don't use them , they lack micro contrast and sharpness again having it without any EP would be better , then user can chose to buy overpriced Zooms or get his own good EPs . This is all simple . If you don't get it and you have money , no problem i will design you a better system . No problem m8.
and you can use this mount with a Sc or a mak for planets viewing so you have complite equipement
@@zpc751 or binoculars and refractors or with a sensitive camera and lens , or you can brake it up make some fire wood out of it .Who cares , i don't see it selling , and it could have been sold , if it was any good .
Is the Go-To mount in this video the iOptron HAZ31 ?
I'm interested in both the 120XL and 127XL. Besides having slightly larger objectives, is the optical quality of the 127 better than the 120 ? The 127 offers about 12% more light gathering ability over the 120. I wonder if it's worth the extra $1600. Thanks in advance.
Ahhh, so that's what you look like. Thank you for my multiple 20x80 lightweight binos over the years. Love them, and even use them hand-held.
P.S. And the new hard case is excellent. I'm in New England again, so I have far less viewing time then I did in TX. But I'm ready whenever, with my binos.
P.P.S. Damn, you're a natural at this.
Interesting, I just ordered a pair of 20x80 from Kevin. Looking forward to using them on a monopod. Maybe buying the BT-120XL this summer.
I'm wondering about buying a BT100XLSD myself. I have the 10x50 deluxe and they're excellent binos.
@@kenfrank2730 In my experience, the monopod was only nominally more stable than handheld. I'd go with something more stable if I was going to mount it.
Send those over my way so I can test them out.
Soy de la República Dominicana y me compré un binocular 15x70 oberwerk muy bueno y completo en todas sus características y gracias por todo
freezing ain't it
damn
pier price pulled proof
the cupalette series viewpoint
Thanks much i have that mount but orion bt 100 binoc.. gives me ideas
So many different glasses I am confused Canon stated their glass is UD (Ultra low dispersion) in their image stabilization binoculars, many others rate SD as only standard definition, lower quality than ed and much lower quality than UD,no wonder everyone is confused,SD,ED,UD i'm even more confused
I love this equipment! Here's my review I left on the Oberwerk website: I purchased the Oberwerk BT-100XL-SD binocular telescope with a Manfrotto 475B tripod and the Manfrotto Nitrotech 608 video head. The Manfrotto components are a perfect match and an absolute must have for this model telescope, they are rock solid. The elevator on the tripod is smooth and stable even when left unlocked conveniently allowing for a lot of use between couples of different heights. The legs have a huge range of adjustment yet fold up very compact. I find that I can even rest my hands on the tripod with barely any movement discernible. The 608 head is super smooth and balanced making panning and scanning through the skies a friction-less and very steady experience. The elevation locking ring is large and easily acquired in the hand, quick and simple to operate. The counterbalance puts the telescope in absolute balance allowing flawless motion to the desired viewing point at any angle with no overshoot or diving. I originally tried a lesser set of tripod components in a misguided effort at economy. That was a mistake, the full performance of the telescope will not be realized without an adequately balanced and flawlessly smooth mount. The Manfrotto components have elevated the performance of this telescope to perfection, I couldn’t be happier with this equipment.
Man I want the 127XL so bad. They look cooler than any telescope
Well, I might be a little biased- but I completely agree.
Hello. Love my Oberwerk gear. Question: on the base that connects to the binoculars there is a black rubber plug. What’s it’s purpose! Thank you.
That rubber plug can be removed to add or remove 1/4" or 3/8" screws to the quick-release plate.
What is the price of the war ship bino from Japan?
The Kevin Kuhne-restored Nikko 30-60x180 was sold at auction roughly 14 years ago for $22,000.
Would you consider that a once in a lifetime telescope? I'm still interested in working for your company. I applied years ago.@@oberwerkoptics
Eliminate the background music, very distracting.
This man is a natural communicator. Well done.
love my oberwerk binoculars!!! I have been using them for 3 years and just now found out about the glare shields LOL, thank you for posting.
Hi , Nick from Melbourne Australia , I have one of your older Bt 100-45"s , with the big fork mount, still works perfectly. Just wondering how the new ones are with higher magnification on the planets in terms of chromatic aberration.
Hi Nick- sorry for the late reply! The older BT-100-45 is an achromat, so the higher you go in magnification, the worse the CA (chromatic aberration) will be. We recommend limiting it to 8mm (75x) for that model. The new XL's use special glass, so CA is greatly-minimized (ED glass), or eliminated (SD glass), and therefore can go higher in magnification without CA becoming a problem.
I can tell you that the BT-100XL-SD for viewing planets and the moon at 80x with the XL7mm ep’s shows no discernible CA what so ever.
@AAE-cg1il yep, looks like a beauty . Just not sure about shipping it all the way here .
Hello Oberwerk, I would like to buy the OBERWERK DELUXE III CF 20X80, but it's ouf of stock in Europe right now. Can you tell me when it will be available again, please? And if it will be sent to the customer with a quality checklist made by Kevin again? Thank you
Hello? :(
@@fsdfmsbcxx Sorry we missed this. Our authorized dealer in Italy (oberwerk.eu) should have these in stock. We rely on them to test the binoculars sold there to our high standards. Only the binoculars sold through oberwerk.com in the USA are tested by Kevin Busarow.
I’m asking Santa for the XL100 ED! Still dreaming.
I have the SD model and it’s superb.
