Hiking Thru the Bible: Your God Is My God
What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time.
Day 20 on the Palmetto Trail. I skipped the Fort Jackson passage due to time and high security. So this is the Wateree Passage where I hiked 2 miles, then biked for 5 miles (I decided I'd better start making time because I need to get home, so I'm biking the road sections and trails that are bikeable), then hiked 4 miles into Poinsett State Park. Lots more bridges to cross and only saw one snake!
With my hiking through the Bible I have now started on the special book of Ruth! Ruth follows her mother-in-law to her homeland because of Naomi's kindness Ruth wanted to be with her and her God. The transforming power of divine love is t...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 19 on the Palmetto Trail and it starts out by the Broad River canal for 2.5 miles, then goes downtown Columbia ending at Fort Jackson. I didn't do the Fort Jackson passage because of time. We would need our backgrounds checked and there were people ahead of us, and we had to be out by 5 pm what would be hard to do on a 16 mile pas...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 18 on the Palmetto Trail doing the Peak to Prosperity passage, although I did it Prosperity to Peak. It was a great trail with lots of trestles to walk over the last one being the most magnificent. I was able to bike a lot of this trail as it was an old railroad track so that helped a lot! We were able to stay the night at the Pea...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 17 on the Palmetto Trail takes me through Lynch's Woods and Newberry Passage. I wasn't too impressed with Lynch's Woods because it was a circular trail, so I'm not sure why they had the Palmetto Trail go through it, was it just to show off this park? It seemed unnecessary to me and not an efficient way to get from point a to point...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 16 on the Palmetto Trail and it's the last hike in the Enoree section. This is the year that the 13 and the 17 year cicadas come out at the same time. It hasn't happened since Thomas Jefferson! The woods are loud with their hum but oh am I blessed to be here at this time! Samson went back to his Philistine wife but her father woul...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 15 on the Palmetto Trail. It seems like it's taking a long time to get through this Enoree passage. Today was the most "boring" day except that I had to cross a log high over a stream. I didn't want to wade due to the sores on my feet from my fire ant attack, so I chose the log which was a bit scary. Otherwise it was mainly walkin...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 14 of the Palmetto Trail in South Carolina brings me hiking the Enoree passage from Prospect Corner road to the Brick House campground. It was a nice trail. I did 15 miles! Was disappointed with the campground though as it did not have any water and we were low in the camper. Plus I get very sweaty with this humid hiking I've been...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 13 on the Palmetto Trail in South Carolina. I continue to onto the Enoree passage at Sedalia campground. This is a nice campground with water from a faucet. Government run so you can only reserve online which they charge $8, so I'm not too happy about that. Jephthah's vow is a story you wish wasn't in the Bible. He had a troubled ...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 12 on the Palmetto Trail in South Carolina took me through Glenn Springs. I was rather frustrated with navigation on this passage because there was no GPS and I kind of went in a circle. So glad to have my mom around!! After Gideon died his son by a concubine decided he wanted to be ruler and he killed his 70 brothers to get that ...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 11 on hiking the Palmetto Trail in South Carolina. This was through (mostly) the nice Croft State Park. This park really caters to horses. However I did not see another person on the trail, so if you want solitude this is a great place to come. Gideon felt like he needed more help from God I guess and so he made an ephod out of th...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 10 of hiking the Palmetto Trail in South Carolina, I did the Hub City Connector which was on a bike path in Spartanburg, at least some of it, and then the Cedar Springs passage which was hiking through the woods. God had Gideon initiate his battle in the middle of the night so his torches and trumpets would be effective. Some of t...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 9 on the Palmetto Trail took me through the USC Upstate campus, but more of it than I wanted to explore! Finding the trailhead was pretty difficult and I just about gave up and to drive on to the next trailhead when I lifted my head as we were driving by and there was the Palmetto Trail sign! I walked through woods and busy roads ...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 8 on the Palmetto Trail doing the Peach Country Passage. Again a walk on busy roads, but a nice reprieve from the woods. I'm not understanding the reasoning on the Palmetto Trail logistics, you can't call it a thro...

What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time. Day 7 on the Palmetto Trail. I finished the Blue Wall Passage which was a walk through the adorable town of Landrum South Carolina and into the countryside. Fort what ? Shouldnt you know how to pronounce the name if you expect us to believe you? Not hardly -
I’m seeing more and more that Americans are just as hostile now as when Fort Boooooeeee was a happening place.
For me, the difference between the walking and the bicycling video is the pace. Walking is very peaceful while cycling has the feeling of a gliding movement with the wind on your face and more focus on what's ahead. I enjoy both. Thanks.
You are super kind and gracious 💕🙏
You sure got to cross a good many trestles! It’s just so beautiful there! You were cute about the snake and I’m surprised you even stood there long enough to video it! I also don’t know how you managed the heat. And the footage while riding your bike was honestly not bad for riding single handed! 😊
It sure made the trail much more interesting having those trestles, but not the snake! 😅. You are a kind commenter 😘
Oh shut up.
I sure love learning about the history in Columbia and South Carolina in general! Thanks for taking us along on your walks!
Thanks for coming!!
This was so fun and interesting to watch and to see all the sites and interest points of down town!! I love the Hope sign😍!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Something a little different. I really enjoy history. Thanks for watching!
Lovely hike my friend, looks so enjoyable and soothing!
Lovely episode, this section looks gorgeous! Love it
Indeed it was!
Love your vids. Your teaching seems to soak into my dense grey matter better than most. I love the hiking too. Thank you.
Well sir you have made my day 🙏💕
Hello can you make a video of eating a buffet in Douglas, Ga.
Oh dear, is it pretty disturbing? 😳
Aw, I like the what you said about talking to God all the time rather then just when things get hard. There must have been millions of those cicadas to be that loud and it’s fun to see where you were. 😍
I love the observations you make about the talks 💕🙏. Yes it’s hard to believe those bugs make such a constant racket!
Great video. We had the pleasure of camping at the top of Mt. Thompson during a meteor shower. Beautiful area and amazing area. Creston is a special place.
Oh wow!!!! You were blessed for sure! Thanks for sharing that experience! Yep Creston is the best!
Lovely episode, forest looks and sounds so therapeutic! Love it
A fellow nature lover 🙏
Pick dentist carefully. Very, very carefully. Found out thru experience. Also, those who take you to offices get a kickback from dentist if they bring in customers. Remember, dental schools in Mexico not the same as US .
Yes I agreeeee!
You walked far more of the town than I did, very impressive! Sorry to hear your mother's work did not succeed. My own experience in Los Algodones has been perfect, and for full mouth restoration. But I went to the largest dental practice in the town, namely SANI Dental. You were right there when you were in the "Medi-Plaza", it is right next door and the Medi-Plaza is part of their operation. That includes the Hotel Cielito Lindo and the big restaurant you walked by, "Mi Casa Es Su Casa". Anyway, what I did to select a dentist was to research quite a lot on the internet, exchanged email and phone calls all before I drove 3.5 hours. Over two days I visited several dental practices for evaluations and prices. My choice was SANI Dental and I had the extractions, implants and temporary acrylic prostheses all done over a three day visit in March of 2024. Coming up on six months later and I have been completely pleased so far. I will return soon to have the temporary removed and the final, permanent bridges installed. Of course my work was very extensive and would have been impossible for me to pay for in the USA. While online reviews of LUX Dental where your mother went are very positive, I've no personal experience there. I do know that many dentists in Los Algodones guarantee their work over some time period, like two to five years. I wonder if she considered returning there?
I worked up in Haida Gwaii for back in 1969 when the Golden Spruce was still there. As for there being a creator, I don't believe in a god or a creator.
Oh that’s cool, so you got to see it?! Thanks for sharing! And that’s sad. But each to their own.
Thanks for sharing your awesome journey and informative chat... could the humming noise be the Cicadas?
Yes you guessed correctly. I figured that out a few miles down the trail. Thanks for watching 😘
It’s just so beautiful there! And it’s relaxing to listen to a Bible story being told all the while with nature in the background 👌🏻
I’m glad you appreciate it 🙏💕
You are a very descriptive speaker! Very interesting but very sad!
Awww thank you. Yes sad stuff in the Bible sometimes 😔
I made one from the palmettos where I live …it was fun. 🤩
You can cut a palmetto and make it a weaved fan …they show you how at the vermillion restaurant and heritage place.
Cool!
Water oak…you guess correctly ❤😊
Oh good! Thanks for clarifying 😀
Very bad
Yes I agree 😢
Another lovely episode ☺️
More beautiful, peaceful country. Against my sense of propriety, I was hoping you were going to walk through the wedding taking video. Thanks.
Ha ha you’re funny!
So nicely narrated put together my friend!
Thanks for your faithful comments 🙏
Interesting video and so pretty! Good lessons drawn from the story too 😊
Aww I thank you! 🙏
Lovely trail my friend, place looks so serene!
Thanks!
That was a lovely countryside walk and enhanced by the softly flowing stream......I always want to be on God's team!
Good choice!!
That was a fun town maybe because I can relate personally to antique!!
Oh aren’t you funny!
Thanks for posting. Fun to watch. Unfortunately, BC Ferries "renovated" a 4 year old ship, and part of that was to convert the only forward facing view lounge to a "kids zone" where if you want the magnificent forward views there is competition from noisy kids and big screen TVs that interfere with the benefit of the windows. "Unencumbered by the thought-process" at BC Ferries.
Ohhhh ya didn’t think about that but good thought. Not too smart with their design eh?
What a wonderful place for a Sabbath hike..... I'm planning on coming up in July or August to hike it in the day light... and then maybe this year or next year I plan to do the early start and try to see the Himalayan Snowcocks.... Do you know anything about where to see them or any birders that may be planning a hike?
Sadly I’m not from around there so couldn’t tell about the birds, but how fun you are a birder! You will love this hike! Thanks for watching 🙏
What a patient, amazing God! A great talk you had and appreciate your clear speaking!!
Oh good! Thanks for that feedback, and yes God is amazing.
Another enjoyable hike. The woods seemed particularly quiet, maybe fewer bird calls? I like all the close ups of the flowers. I hadn't seen a Jack-in-the-pulpit in years.
Yes you are so observant, the woods were quiet. But you’re right, at least I had the wildflowers to swoon over!
I like the photo of the white flower at 11:00 with the sound of the rushing water in the background. Thanks for bringing me along.
You are just so observant 🙏💕
I like it there. I had 8 crowns, 4 root canals, one implant in done in 2 days. Started on Monday, went back Weds. to finish up. That would of took me probably a year back and forth in the US at my dentist here. Got about 28k worth of work done for about 6k there. Dr. even fixed my wife's crown for free.
Nice!! I just hope it lasts for you!
In answer to your question: The experiences I've had are like the breeze: it's there for one moment and gone the next. The good I've done is/was/will be for the people who benefit from my actions. Yes, in 100 years, there will probably be no memory of me, but that's okay. I do not long for immortality. Seize the moment and do your best with a clear consicence. That is all there is to it, really. Is it easy to accept one is just as temporary as a May fly? Maybe not for everyone, but accepting it brings a great deal of peace.
Thanks for sharing. I’m glad you’re content with your life and have peace. That is rare these days. I have peace but I also look toward to a better land for all eternity with Jesus.
Enjoyed your hike .sorry you were dumped into taking the jab.I hope you realize your mistake taking it.I hope your health is holding up after the jab. Hope your eyes are open now.
I’m alive, healthy, and have hiked the Florida Trail and Palmetto Trail since the jab. No regrets.
I like how at 5:30, when you finished speaking, you panned across the view ahead, of the trees in silence. Somehow that really focused my attention on nature. What a nice touch.
Awe you always have a kind encouraging word for me 🙏

Awww you notice everything!! 😘. Yes it seems surreal to me that I did this 😆
Love your enthusiasm and camera work on each wild flower discovery.
Yes I love flowers!! 😍
This Video started out so well, HOWEVER where you went wrong is peppering your religious views throughout the Video. Also Im not sure why you would question Haida Culture views on animals vs your Religious views? It sure looked like you put a negative spin on there culture. Your god is mad at you now!
Hey thanks for your comment Kirk, it gives me an opening to respond and let you and any other person who reads this that I had a Native Haida reach out to me because of this video and I was able to give her a native Bible and native specific Bible studies and she was thrilled! I’m happy to send them to any others that might want them too.
Beautiful hiking area along with good camera work. The bear sighting was a little scary. Thanks.
Awww thanks. Are you staying out of the severe weathers path these days?
