Hey - I will do everything from their first decade. It's just a matter of time.
Tipton has written some of the greatest solos in music history. Not to mention he has multiple solos per song. From Pain Killer on his solos were absolutely insane. On the Nostradamus double album he showcased his levels above the rest. He’s an absolute monster solo writer.
That's an interesting point! While I don't consider Tipton among the top guitarists in terms of technical ability-there are definitely more technically proficient players-when it comes to solo writing in heavy metal, he’s absolutely one of the best. In my opinion, he’s second only to Randy Rhoads. His creativity and unique style really set him apart.

Yes exactly. The trick though is that you have to silence the string with your left hand index finger.

@@songtutorial Its really cool when you separate the guitars and bass for Maiden songs because on some tracks things seem almost abnormally layed in there but listening on the whole its so correct. Yeah, me and a friend of mine walked 6 miles each way in sub- zero weather to buy Piece of Mind. I love it more today than ever. You're right about Dickinson's vocals being on fire. Every nuance of every word is executed with perfection and conviction. I love the wrap around - guitar and bass right before the chorus Bruce relays "The light of the blind you'll see." That shit never gets old, it's like a fine wine. I tracked in the cold (the 6 miles) for the Trooper UK import with Cross Eyed Mary on the B side. Their cover of that Jethro Tull song is supreme. Sorry to blab on... I could write a book about Maiden and my life!

Hello! I have a question, like you have blackened riff 0-7-0-7…, so you just pm the 0, put your hand away from string and then do 7?? So you just alternate pm and 7 pm and 7?
You just move your right hand so it justs mutes string 6 and not string 5. It takes a bit of practice.

No where close to official tabs book. Where you come up with this.
I write the tabs myself. The official tabs book is not even close to what was actually played in the studio. Many, many inaccuracies.
Well good on you man. I have the book and I learned that way. My wife says it sounds wrong at times to her. Maybe that’s why.
@@kyleparham5475 Keep in mind that the "official" tabs were not written by Metallica themselves. It was the record labels, wanting to sell official merchandise for extra cash, that hired independent musicians to do the job. Guess what: they didn’t get it right. Take the Master of Puppets intro, for example. The official tabs show it in the wrong fretboard position. Anyway, trust your wife - she seems to have a good ear! 😉
@@songtutorial crazy how they do that. I learned the whole black album and playing with music is confusing at times. Your sounds like live concert versions. I found the studio version sound like tab books.
