    Good job. You still had gas left in the tank for another rep but you're smart enough not to push every set to it's absolute limit. You'll be doing 7 or 8 reps in no time without risking injury. 👍👍

    Interesting. I only do incline barbell but might try this multi set one rep thing. For me it would be 255 although I can do more. If you're by yourself I would take those clamps off so you can dump if you get in trouble

      Thanks man! My max is 300 but I like to do a lot of singles one week and doubles the next and hit some back down sets. My max on incline is 290 on a good day but finally got a bench so I’m going crazy on it lol! I keep clamps on it cause the plates wobble a lot but if I fold I’ll role it to my hips and sit up.

    Why not skip the 10 sets of two and do like two warm ups sets then two working sets pushing the last two to failure while simultaneously dropping the weight

    • @jamesballard6375
      @jamesballard6375 Месяц назад

      I love working 1-5 reps heavy with a lot of sets to build up my strength and then lowering to a 4-6 rep to build muscle. I like picking a set number with a weight that’s heavy to me like 2 reps or even a weight that I can pause on my chest with a certain number to mix it up and help build my bench. Also incorporate close grip, reverse grip bench and incline presses. It works for me 👍

    Hi...I have been benching for 53 years. 67 yrs. old now. Your warm-ups are too taxing. Only a suggestion, but you should try 45 - 50 lb increments as you progress towards your highest lift for the day. So say your pr is 300 lbs. try this ...120x10...165x8....210x4...255x1...300x1. This works better.

    • @ralphe5184
      @ralphe5184 2 месяца назад

      You will have more strength and energy for sets you do after the 300 attempt, which I think, are the most important for getting stronger.
