Making Anime Patches for my Jacket | OyeCrafts Hand Embroidery
In this video, I share how I made a few hand-embroidered patches of anime characters I like: Zenitsu from Demon Slayer and Michiko and Hatchin. They are all iron-on patches so I attached them to my jean jacket by first ironing and then adding a loose whip stitch to secure the edges.

So creative!
5 days later...what happened to the other line of seeds?
What can I use to cover the threads so that they cannot be seen when I have sewn the patch to the jacket?
Can you use this technique for jean pants to?
Of course!
subbed bc is saw dorohedoro. do shin if u have the time. im going to try and do my own but need to work on my stitch spacing with free motion on machine. i have a punk battle jacket that ive built up significantly trying different methods like iron on ink printable patches or bleach painting with stencils. Hope to see more content from you, enjoyed this substantially.
the patches look so intricate. im just beginning making them and something way less complex took me 2 days lol they both look great. amazing craftsmanship
Thank you so much!
what needle and fabric do you use to make these?
I usually get the DMC size 5 embroidery needles but I don't really have a brand preference. For fabric I use cotton canvas.
@@oyechulo thanks so much!
I started making this at 9:00 pm, not knowing that I would have to let it sit for 2 hours! Please specify that in the intro so that other people do not have this problem. Edit: After letting the mixture sit OVERNIGHT the pods did not even get close to breaking down
This was an amazing tutorial! Thank you so much
Glad it was helpful!
Hey I love this video! Is it possible you could Amazon link the iron on interfacing you use before you do the black border please?
Of course! I just added the link next to HeatNBond in the video description
You definitely did an amazing job ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!
Hello, I saw you use mod podge for you HxH felt patch, is that what you're using here? I want to make some felt patches for hoodies/sweaters but I'm not sure how the felt will behave in the washer/dryer. Looks like mod podge is a water based adhesive so I'm also worried about that as well. Have you tried washing and machine drying any of your clothing that have these patches? Thanks in advance, and awesome patches love Choso!
idrk about the felt, but maybe you could use fabric glue on the back of the patches, because it's designed to be used on clothing.
Thank you! I've never had issues with washing felt patches, but I also tend to be very careful when handwashing them and always air dry. I also only get heavy duty felt so they're quite sturdy. I would recommend using fabric glue or even iron on stabilizer behind your felt patches if you want to avoid water based adhesives. I've seen people also use super glue to seal the back.
Wow. Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing this tutorial!
Thanks for watching!
Really great and informative video! Helped me big time, thanks!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for this video. It was most helpful.
What type of stitch do you use in the big spaces like her skin
I used long and short stitches for most of her skin, and some satin stitches for the smaller areas
Great instructions! And your choice in colors on your projects!!! *chefs kiss*
Thanks so much! 😊
AMAZING! <3
I've never seen someone make a book! So cool
Thank you!
So cool, i really wanna try this
Bro Yu goat
You're a good teacher. There is a patch that I really wanna do but my satin stitch needs help.
same ngl
HEAVY FELT... ok that makes more sense. I've been using crafting felt (light 15 cent stuff from hobby lobby), although the patches come out fine, was always wondering why others patches came out a bit more heavy duty feeling. alright, i'll give that stuff a try IF I can find it.. because hobby lobby don't carry it :P
Can you please add link of where to get the thick felt
Many thanks! So helpful!
Finally I found a demonstration that I can relate to. Just what I needed. Thank you!
Just great!
This was a great video! Thank you for sharing your techniques
I'm going to try and make ichika from pjsk with the method tysm!
how long did those block continue to grow?
The 2023 embroidery looks beautiful! Definitely worth the 15 hours of french knots! Thanks for the explanation, great job
Thank you for such a detailed video. I'm working on making a life sized doll of a character and wasn't sure how to do his face. I thought about emrboidering it directly to the doll, but wanted to know also about making his face iron-on. I love the tips that you offer. As a first timer, it's good to know little tricks for keeping things stable and different types of stitches.
Wow I had no idea patches could be done by hand. This was amazing to watch. You’re very talented. Well done!
Yea it also gives a bit more control when changing directions in a stitch and you can probably use many hand embroidery techniques to make it feel 3d.
Brilliant video thank you! Just a quick question - if i were to draw directly onto the sticky stabiliser, can i use a fine black pen or should i just a pencil? Does that cause problems of ink running when it comes to washing the stabiliser out? Thanks a lot
Thank you! I would not recommend using ink. I used to do this when I first started and had issues with the embroidery floss getting stained by the ink, and I would end up having to rip out all the stitches. I would recommend a pen/marker with disappearing ink or pencil.
Dorohedoro <3
How do you decipher the thread direction
Viewer from India...🤭Its really amazing..I will surely Follow your video for embroidery
Very useful tutorial, hope I'll be able to make patches like this, and also other types of embroidery!
Awesome 👍🏾 ❤❤❤
Ur a genius. Definitely recommending this to my art creative friends. Thank u for ur well made video
The back stitch was what i needed. Thanks
Thank you for this video, it was very informative! Your work is amazing:)
This is amazing and u r SO talented! ❤ I need patches for my service dog but they’re expensive and I don’t have a sewing machine, this was SO helpful and the ONLY tutorial I needed!
Omg, all this by hand, amazing.
Intersting….and loves your idea about your embroidery, with the differant colours of thread….from Ontario Canada
Loved this project! The amount of detail on the cover is great!
Thank you!! 🥰
I never thought to use felt for making patches, what an awesome idea! One thing I would like to ask, how thick is the felt you’re using in this video?
I'm not sure of the exact thickness, but I used Kunin's premium felt from Joann Fabrics which is labeled "heavy weight"
Liked!!! Will try to do this soon appreciate the video so much
😮😮😮
Do you think that you can make the wiggles logo patches
Maybe you want to commission a custom patch? I got a couple done.
