I meant to comment on your last video that perhaps that engine needs a larger carburetor. If it has fuel pressure throughout the pulls, and is still that lean, you could be over taxing that carb. Also, I'm glad it was just rocker arms and not pistons. But I have those same rocker arms. Yikes. 😬

I hope you don't actually have .020 clearance on any bearing.

Stock mustang gt coyote would smoke him. Fix the suspension n add drag tires to the coyote would annihilate this "strocker".

Are you 100% sure that you're lean? Do you have an AFR gauge? What is your AFR? Reading plugs is finicky at best. If you are lean for sure, I don't see how the EFI is going to change that. Carburetors are very simple mechanisms and are pretty good at distributing fuel, assuming you have enough pressure and the timing is right. But, since you already have it, you may as well give it a shot.

Lock out timing, and bigger cam? That’s what I would do. My 393 made the most power with 32 degrees of timing just for reference.

Keep the carburetor on it. Buy an AFR gauge and tune with that. The Holley Sniper may cause you a bunch of other problems in the short time you have to go racing. Do the EFI over winter instead.

Glad you made it to the end, very impressive with a car with not much testing. Ill get the coyote swap done and we'll do a drag and drive next year!!!

I think you made the right decision to just leave it be, instead of trying for 11s. Having a reliable 12-second car that can drive thousands of miles, rip off 12s, and drive home is awesome. That's what I want. Don't fall into the trap of needing to go faster. I gap all my rings for nitrous, because I may run a kit later, but longevity and reliability are my main goals. And naturally aspirated is where it's at now. It's the road less traveled now days and I like it. And I definitely wouldn't want to risk torching a ring and pistons a thousand miles from home. Great job completing Drag Week. I look forward to more content soon.

If you paint that thing with that thick rubber like stuff they use for roofs that should make it waterproof better than any paint tou can apply on it. Seen a video here where someone needed a new roof used that roofing stuff that they poured on and spreaded it on with a paint roller. They claimed it sealed it up, should last a very long time. Look for those videos to see what to get. I'm sure one 5 gallon bucket of that stuff would be plenty. Try to get the white stuff to try to keep it a bit cooler inside.😎👍

I watched your short block assembly video but didnt see if you checked crank thrust ?

Did you remove the air box behind the dash? Just watched video haven’t gone back thru playlist yet. Our cars are very similar but mine has all factory wiring and full air box under dash still. Mine weighted 3050 with full interior.

Thanx for this info,im doing a 70s-- 351w,about the same as your's, putting it in a 76 bronco,35 inch tires,but cant decide on my cam,i want to go roller,& looking for best torque profile, no racing but great bottom end estreet heads 2.02 valves ,any suggestions,??? Thanx

Just a speculation, but the gray car has too low of a gear ratio for its top end or it or it couldve gotten it

If you watch my long block video, you'll see how crazy I got with my oil pan gasket seal. My 7qt pan doesn't have any bolts along the back around the rear main, so I sealed the living crap out of it. It seemed like paranoia at the time. Now I'm glad I did. It won't stop my rear main from leaking, but my pan gasket is sealed for life.

I used the speed doctor bracket for the alternator on my 395. They are expensive but very very nice. I’m focusing on drag and drive events also. Maybe I’ll catch you out there!
