I grew up watching digimon until Frontier, I stopped watching series and anime for some years... then, during my young adulthood years I watched again the four seasons (with the Latin American Spanish dub) and couldn't avoid crying in the final episode of the first season when the original Japanese version played, since then this song brings me a bit of nostalgia but also good memories of my childhood (I'm 28 years old).
Ever since I was little I always watched digimon adventure and seeing the ending for last evolution kizuna made me shed a tear. I don't think this is the end of their adventure it's only just getting started.
UN SOMBRERO NO TE PUEDE HACER LLORAR. Yo, llorando mares recordando el sombrero de Mimi en esa maravillosa escena final. 36 años cumplidos y sí, sigo siendo una niña elegida. ❤️
I am reading all the comments from people all around the world and I think I found the real place of tears. Thank you digimons for all the good moments you gave us, for all the digievolutions and for all the lessons.
I can't listen to this without crying anymore. I grew up with Digimon's english dub as a kid but I watched the sub version later on (Currently watching through Digimon Adventure in subbed). But everytime I listen to Butterfly it reminds me of being a kid and loving Digimon. Blue skies and Agumon and joy. Nothing like the bleakness of adulthood. Just pure innocence and fun. Koji Wada's voice heals my soul and reminds me that everything is gonna be alright. Rest in peace Koji Wada-san. <3
This song is a masterpiece. BUT!! For me personally, this wonderful work by the late Kouji Wada doesn't get me going nearly as much as "Honoo no Overdrive" (the opening for 2000's "Transformers: Car Robots"). I will admit that's most likely my fault, as I heard "Honoo no Overdrive" first. That said...even without partner Digimon or fellow Seibertrons/Cybertronians, we are still Chosen People...we are still Cybertrons (& Destrons)/Autobots (& Decepticons). Press onward!!
I can’t watch Last Evolution… I love this song, but can’t watch that series! Digimon season 1 was mine and my sister’s favorite show and season. I was Tai and she was Kari.
I grew up on the dub and though I love the song for nostalgic reasons, and it was easy to remember as a kid, the Butterfly song just hits different. Mind you I never heard it until I was older (like in my 20s) but when I did it hit me in the feels as if I heard it all along. Not going to lie I teared up the first time I heard it and now I listen to it often. Something about it just makes you feels nostalgic.
This anime has touched my heart since I was a child and I'm not from the 90's, I was born in 2006 and yet every time I hear this song it fills my heart and fills me with memories of the best childhood
Every time I hear this song, I cry
31 and not slightly ashamed that im crying over this song
นี่คือ อีกเวอร์ชั่น ที่ชอบมากๆ ฟังแล้วคิดถึง พ่อ โดยเฉพาะท่อนฮุกท่อนสุดท้าย โคตร กรีดใจเลย

I was born in 2007 and I love this song too. When I first listened to the Tri Version, I felt so emotional because I listened to the Cast Version😢
