It worked fine. The timber frame for your saw has to be very accurate if you want to have straight cuts. Everything stands or falls with that. With long boards, this is not easy to achieve. There are prefabricated aluminium frames available for that mill. Obviously, this wooden frame was way cheaper; regarding the amount of timber I cut and for just giving it a try, the more reasonable way.

Ja, die Gründe gibts. Uns ist die Zeit etwas davongelaufen. Wir kommen die letzten Monate nicht dazu, das Videomaterial zusammenzuschneiden ... 😕 Zu viele Projekte, u.a. eine Schulgründung, die wir versuchen auf den Weg zu bringen 🙂

Ja, die Tomatensorte macht schon etwas her. Ich mag sie. Allerdings habe ich den Eindruck, dass sie etwas empfindlicher auf die Qualität des Sommers reagiert. Der derzeitige "Klimmasommer", der uns allen den Hitzetot bringt, überzeugt sie scheinbar nicht so ganz ... Mit dem wochenlangen Herbstwetter (nass und kalt) baut sie nicht übermäßig viel Aroma auf 🙄 Naja, ich mag sie trotzdem.

What materials? It's cement and a sand-pebble mix. Added was a liquifier and cooked starch. Cooked starch was borrowed from an old Chinese method; they added rice water (containing cooked rice starch) to the lime mortar when they built the Chinese wall. This made the mortar stronger. Some Chinese research was made which seem to indicate that this also has a positive effect with cement ...

Well, the problem with mixing the languages I had when during High School two of my main three courses were Spanish and French, two Roman languages; that often led to something like Frenisch. 😉 So, I used to speak Spanish too, but since I haven’t used it for 15 years or so, my knowledge in this language is reduced to almost zero … Thank you also for your vocab correction. Yeah, my wife is not afraid of making her hands dirty. That was one of the reasons I chose her to be my wife. At the moment, the building progress of the cabin is almost stopping, as we are very busy with establishing a Christian (Adventist) School with a somewhat alternative conception of education, brainwork and handwork in equal parts … which is not an easy project here in Germany. You have the right to establish a private school here in Germany, but they generally also want to make sure, that it is not too easy for you. Beton: 1 Volumenteil Zement, 4 Volumenteile Kies (in Deutschland eine Mischung aus Sand und kleinen Steinchen, üblicherweise kleiner als 16mm). Die braune Flüssigkeit ist ein Betonverflüssiger, damit man weniger Wasser benötigt. Das weiße ist gekochte Stärke.

Danke, dass du dir die Zeit genommen hast, einen Kommentar zu hinterlassen. Ich weiß es nicht mehr ganz genau, ich glaube ich habe 12 mm Schrauben verwendet. Wie groß müssten die Unterlegscheiben denn sein? Die Pappe habe ich bewusst weggelassen. Zu der Frage, ob diese unter einer Schwelle zum Einsatz kommen sollte, herrscht unter Fachwerk-Fachkundigen keine einhellige Meinung... 🙂

Simple river pebbles, they're always a natural mixture from different rock kinds. Flints, Lime stones, Basalt, Granite .... you name it.

The point is that the one (Abel) was obedient to God's command in regard to sacrifices while the other (Cain) did his own thing and wanted God to be pleased with it. Tilling the ground was God's command to mankind, c.p. Gen 3,17-19; also verse 23: "Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken." So Cain's business was in perfect harmony with God's command, but his worship service - so to say - was not ... Meat eating (BUT without the blood) was allowed after the flood, c.p. Gen 9, 2-4: "And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat." God's ideal diet for mankind was fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc., everything that is plant-based. PS: Until a few years ago, I also ate very large amounts of meat every day. 😉You will notice in your health one day that there is a better and more ideal way. God's word is sure and reliable.
