Oh, that's a funny recommendation out of nowhere. RUclips knows me well however as I watched FLCL numerous times some years ago and I still listen to The Pillows quite often. To be honest at that time I could only really derive emotional meaning out of it but it certainly had an effect on me. I think I'm ready for another run through.

So this was a female lead show that was suppose to be about the drama and how she deals with emotional ties while all this action happens around her. Well this came out when mostly guys were watching anime and wanted action. So they changed it. More focus on the male leads and action. Cut most character development and get to the action. That’s why the second half feels rushed.

Everything about Record of Lodoss War is epic. I have it still on VHS and I pray my VHS player never breaks down.

Thought this was escaflowne for some reason never finished it .

Started watching this some months ago but dropped off maybe I'll go back and give it a go..Think there are three different versions to the story.

This is a bad take every 90s kid and anime lovers know of Record of the Lodoss War

I do my part and mention Escaflowne as often I can when people ask for recommendations.

i did not, i bought the blueray a few weeks ago.

A classic. Though the old red box set has terrible yellow hard coded subs. You know the ones if you're an old head like me. The more recent re-release set with the TV included is worth a look.

It's a decent, but not some transcendent anime. For an anime that exists solely to promote a 16-bit action game, it's better than it has any right to be, but as I said, it's still nothing exceptional. It is every bit as tropey and stereotypical as the average modern isekai, it's just there was only a dozen or so anime pushing those tropes back in the 90s instead of literal hundreds today. Overall I enjoyed this series, it was one of the better OVAs of the time, but is it some timeless classic? No, it's not.

Man This one Rune Soldiers and Slayers are my Favorite Fantasy Anime, it's too bad no makes this kind of thing anymore. The lack of Epic Fantasy is gone.

I'm one of those who have forgotten until mentioned. I love the ED theme and I know there's a recent Steam game with Deedlit as the player. But almost everything else I can't recall. Another one is Heroic Legend of Arslan or something.

I dropped it, it's bland and uninspiring.

Love the mecha designs, hate the character designs. Always made it hard for me to watch this series. I'm pretty sensitive to character design for whatever reasons. It's also always made it difficult for me to watch one piece.

Escaflowne was an instant classic. Medieval fantasy mecha action? Epic.

one scene i remember about this anime is that the male MC forced his dragon form mech to fly off towards the earth without using anything just to see the female MC once again

We didn’t learn of the fable of homers oddest because it was such a well known beloved tale we simple all knew it and always did. After the fall or Alexandria a large portion of these fables was lost. We de found it. Re learned of it and translated it in whole from wrecks of old ships. All art dies. All art fades. And is rediscovered all over. That’s how it works. That mats not a flaw. That’s a feature. You’re supposed to retread the same ground over and over each time adding one new stone.
