Hey, welcome to my channel. I am a diagnostic radiology resident at the University of Pennsylvania and I am very excited to share my advice and my musings about life, residency and radiology. Stay well and stay tuned!
How I scored 250+ on USMLE Step 2 CK | Advice, Study strategies, Tips & Resources
With Step 1 recently going pass or fail, Step 2 CK will likely take its place as the most important USMLE exam medical students attempt. . . . . for now. This is because Step 2 CK will still report a score and a percentile and will likely be heavily utilized by PDs as the objective, uniform measure to compare candidates. Here’s my advice on approaching USMLE Step 2 CK and acing the exam.

Why Nate Mercer is the greatest medical student from SUNY Upstate | 40 ortho residency interviews
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.2 года назад
Nate is likely the most successful and one of the most hardworking students to graduate from SUNY Upstate. In a very competitive orthopedics residency cycle, he was able to obtain 40 residency interviews! Just a few weeks before official match day 2022, I sat down with Nate for this 2 hour interview to go over any advice, strategies and tips he could share for pre-meds and medical students. Alo...

Great videos. Thanks a lot. Can I get pdf note of these videos?
Don’t we calculate relative risk based on exposure and non exposure and not on disease present or absent. 5:40
Thanks for this video keep it up !
This is an excellent video on writing Personal Statement. Thank you. Just wonder if you’re continue posting videos on RUclips?

Wonderfully done Dr. Basunia! Thank you
Thank you very much Dr. Basunia. It was really helpful
Thanks for the video. very informative.
excellent video. Well explained. Thank you
Thank you for posting this banger, i got to write a 250 for a heme onc observership and i'm a lil bit confused and that's fine because the only oncology cae i worked on was breif and without fully diagnostic work, although i have family members who passed away due to it like i don't want to highlight it but i'm trying my best 😬, i'm doing retinal oncology research and published one in neuroimaging but still no real life examples to include in my PS, any advices/insightes will be appreciated :)
Hello, I'm confused - I thought you didn’t need separate personal statements for intern year programs if you are applying to an advanced program?
You don't have to have separate personal statements, but tailoring personal statements to your intern year or your top advanced specialty programs can show dedication and may give you an edge.
@@AzfarBasuniaMD okay, thank you!
I've delved into numerous resources on personal statements, and your video stands out as the most insightful and practical guide I've come across.
Thank you for your kind words.
Thank you

great video. thank you so much
I literally might watch this series once a week! it is so useful and biostats is so tricky!!!
Thanks doctor
Hi doctor, just a question…isn’t per protocol analysis no loss to follow-up? If that’s the case, wouldn’t it be 12/20 instead of 12/13?…sorry I’m just a bit confused.
Sir , really thanks I found your channel by chance! Struggling with biostatistics & 1 month for my CK test!! Really appreciate your work
How did you do? Especially in biostats?
Great advice, especially the 24 hour thank you email follow-up tip.
Hey, my colleague. Thank you so much for your kindness in making and sharing all these videos. They are great review material. I really appreciate your work on that.
Best content out there! Thanks
09:35- shouldn't it be- odds of smoking were 28x greater in hypertensive patients?
How do we explain 12/13 in ppanalysis ? In ARR
20-7 Dropped out
Thank you so much!
I’m still confused about material for day 1 mcqs. Basic sciences. Reviewing first aid would be sufficient ?
That’s what I did and thought that was enough for the basic science questions.
Wow. There were some things i reviewed and others i have never learned before! This is so helpful! Cant wait to do the other modules!
Need more content from you!
Greattt videos
Thank you for making this video 🎉
You’re welcome!!
Having such a high score doesn’t really matter at this point? Most of us just try to pass.
❤
Not me coming to learn about step 3 and running into Azfar!! Hope you're well brother!
Tyler! I am doing well man. Good to hear from you bro and best of luck in Step. Hope all is well!!
Thanks Dr
Thank you so much for this amazing video
Thank you so much for the amazing video.
Highly informative video !!!
Thank you!
Hi Dr. Basunia, beforehand thanks you very much for such an incredible job resuming those complex topics. I am IMG from Colombia pursuing IM (waiting for the match results). I would like to ask you how did you boost your medical english skills assuming that English is not your native language.
Great question! English is not my native language. A good way to boost medical English would be to boost general spoken English. I watched a lot of movies with the subtitles on, and would try to imitate how the actors/actresses spoke. The best way is to actually practice - do it with real patients in a real clinical setting. Much like your clinical skills, it will improve with time and practice. Best of luck!
Thanks, Doc for this. Please could someone help explain how he got the cases per person-year in the last example? @30:49 Thank you in advance.
The way you deliver your idea is just phenomenal!! thank you so much dear brother.
You’re very welcome. I am glad you found it helpful.
Hi Dr. Basunia, I have a quick question at time point 32:58 when you discuss alternate wording for the odds ratio example, can you further explain where the 70% stems from if there is an odds ratio of 1.7?
Percentage conversion = absolute value(1-OR) * 100% Examples, OR = 1.9 --> 90% greater OR = 2.5 --> 150% greater OR = 0.45 --> 55% lower OR = 0.25 --> 75% lower
@@AzfarBasuniaMD Thank you !
These videos have helped me so much in explaining concept I was weak on , thank you so much , they are amazing. I was wondering if you have some resources on Quality and Safety ?
Thank you for your kind words. USMLE has recently shifted its focus more on bioethics, quality and safety. I would probably peruse through Amboss or the most recent First Aid.
Thank you for your advice and video.
You’re welcome!
Dr Azfar is there a video of you explaining Box and whisker test ?
I dont think I explained it in the video. Here's a really good summary from Khan Academy. www.khanacademy.org/math/statistics-probability/summarizing-quantitative-data/box-whisker-plots/a/box-plot-review
Can you please make a video on how to best use Divine Intervention Podcast? The website seems like a plethora of videos, even within the CK category and I can't seem to navigate through to an order to do them in. Please give us some guidance abt this.
Thanks a lot! Very few genuine people are sharing knowledge for free for the masses.
You're very welcome. I am glad you found this content helpful!
Thanks so much!! Really help me with this difficult topic🙏
You're welcome. Best of luck on the exam!
