Dés que j'ai écouté David, à l'époque étudiant au conservatoire de Caen (Le Prado), j'ai tout de suite dit que ce serait un grand organiste. Sa carrière brillante le prouve. Il se distingue par une virtuosité et une interprétation "qui passe la rampe", comme on dit. ça nous touche, nous émeut et c'est rare. Il n'a jamais pris la grosse tête. Sa conviction musicale et humaine ressort de sa personnalité. Il a beaucoup à dire. A suivre absolument.

Rumor has it that Gould, if his organ Art of Fugue recordings were a success, was going to do the Musical Offering as well. But the reviews of his AoF on the organ were so bad, he never even completed the AoF, and never recorded on the organ again.
