I'm Agender

I’d never have the confidence to think of myself as in any way agender nonbinary or even demigender. In terms of my voice and appearance, I do not deviate too much from masc. But definitely I’m quite non-stereotypical in my gender expression, otherwise. I also feel quite different from other men, inside. We just don’t see eye to eye. I’ve tried very hard for very long to be more like them (8 years in the infantry, for example), but it never really worked. It’s like women don’t feel comfortable with me, or at least they treat me like a typical man, that is as other, but then I do the same to men. Men are often quite nice to me, but we simply don’t share the same interests, experiences, and, for the most part, opinions. I think I’d get along much better with a group of openly gay or bisexual men, frankly. That is not to say I’m completely effeminate. But I think what qualifies as an effeminate man is quite a low bar, and usually amounts to wearing the wrong color men’s clothing or being animated and flamboyant and “sounding gay,” none of which fits me (most if the time). I’ve even rather passively considered transitioning, though to be honest it sounds like a horribly difficult experience and I’m not sure I’d really ever want to go through all the trouble; and that is to say nothing of family, and the risk of it not going well, or of me being otherwise dissatisfied (I’m not convinced I’d be happy as a trans woman under the best of circumstances). Complicating this is the fact that I’m plural/multiple in a very specific non-typical way (closer to P-DID), and my two (known) alters are both women, so perhaps the gender stuff is related to that, because obviously I feel much more feminine when they are “close,” even I’m in not losing consciousness or control. But then, that has been rather more rare occurrence for many years. But well all of this does not exactly scream cis man does it?
