    Excellent video. Is that a Wearside accent i hear there? I was looking at one of these, but i heard that they are very plastic and flimsy feeling, also apparently the keys are easy to break (especially the black ones) got to admit that they sound really nice.

    bro... love this thing to death... almost 10 years going strong, analog synth, supernatural digital synth, classic drum sounds and a groovebox... for that price... absolute killer synth even taking in consideration weak keyboard... i mean it's perfectly capable as a module.

    An excellent machine... made even better now that I sequence it externally from the Korg Electribe ES2. Why would I want to externally sequence the Roland SH-4d from the Electribe you might (not) be asking? Well, because the Electribe has a song-mode and can externally sequence up to 16 devices. So now I can pattern-chain my SH-4d via the Electribe! While I don't really do tutorials, I'm sure watching several of my videos might actually be of some help to at least showcase what can be done by syncing multiple synths and grooveboxes via midi... and maybe some of you will dig the jams.

    "The PCM model offers a vast selection of sample-based sounds". There's 53. By comparison I believe there are hundreds (4 banks of 128? 256? of PCM partials) on the MC-101 and MC-707.

    • @Necrobot777
      @Necrobot777 15 дней назад

      I was eyeing up the MC-707 but was scared off due to the menues and overwhelming number of options/samples. I hope my videos prove that at least I don't need 12000 PCM samples to make mental fucking jams. However, I do need to be able to have my own samples. Just not banks and banks of them. I think you will agree that I have made excellent use of the Korg Drumlogue's whopping 32mb of storage... one or two of the 53 PCM samples from the SH-4d (I mostly just build my own synths and prefer the lack of menu-diving), and the Polyend Play for all 'dialogue-based-samples'. Full disclosure: my wife stole my MPC and started using that. So now, because we are using the MPC, I guess I can't claim to be DAWless anymore. But before that, every finished track was DAWless... and only created using the Drumlogue, SH-4d, Polyend Play, and occasionally a Behringer Edge, Korg Electribe and Volca Sample2. It is possible!! Though the Drumlogue was not intuitive for the first few weeks. Now, I would not trade it for the world! We just gotta start doing some shows. Anyhoo... Cheers from the land of Delco!

    The analog synth is just a gimmick. The digital engine can do everything the analog one. It would be better with 3 digital tracks, and better sequencer, by which I mean more steps.

I enjoy the sounds I can design so straight forward.

The FP-30X has some refinements over the FP-10 of interest to working musicians and advanced players. I got the FP-30X earlier this year. As of right now, it's the latest and greatest for acoustic piano emulation at the entry level price point. The Yamaha P-125 and P-225 are the major competitors to Roland. Owning it since a few years It sounds really good, but it has in my opinion a few issues: the sequencer which is not even capable of giving the notes it holds, and the interface... the microkorg has 4* less knobs but it's hard as hell to tweak sounds on it :/ *And i even forgot the micro keys that makes my korg monologue looks like a steinway (not the size, the quality) Great video, else ;)

    • @kmieras4171
      @kmieras4171 Месяц назад

      Well true the sequencer and keys are where it lacks. I did manage some cool break beats on it in a way effect wise im unable to do on the tr8-s so idd say its far from easy to use but it has its qualities. I do admire how much is crammed into the small device and affordable device . When you load a lot off the free extra samples on it ( which I did ) you notice it becomes a bit slower which is from what ive heard because its the absolute max it can do with that processing power. Which just makes me thankful to Roland pushing it to the absolute limit apparently.

      Yes I have the FP60X. Not sure there is much difference in sound between the 30X and 60X, but the user control interface of the 60X is vastly superior to the 30X (sliders, display, registrations etc). Love the piano sounds of the 60X (the ambient settings are nice as is the editor in the app or in the instrument to tweak the pianos). The Supernatural pianos have a nice richness to them (Steinway) which I think is mainly down to the stretch tuning used on the Rolands (it creates a fuller sound). Built-in speakers on the 60X are surprisingly good - I also have the FP10 which is also pretty impressive for the price but speakers aren't great. Both have line outs, it sounds nice through the hifi set up.

Roland fp30x has great features as great quality samples in acoustic pianos and powerful internal highspeakers, fantastic mechanical in keyboard with escapement, triple sensor for each key, that make it unbeatable. Hi WeneLand! I’m afraid I no longer have the unit as it was borrowed, but a few things I liked and didn’t like about the MKII are; I liked how easy it was to play samples live I loved how quickly you could manipulate audio with envelope controls and effects I loved the feel of the buttons and the no-click design pads, they always felt great to use, but I did struggle to play them with loud velocity so I ended up turning velocity off. I loved how universal its connections are and its ability to be powered via USB C. I felt that the knobs could have benefited from being infinity encoders, but I liked how fast the regular encoders were to use and how they kept the display minimal. I didn’t like the 4x4 grid layout of the sequencing mode, but that’s just my preference as I’m used to a 1x16 sequencing grid.
